Chapter Six

Maizyn

If I stayed in bed any longer, the mental fog would win.

This feeling sucks, but it’s one I’m all too familiar with.

I was diagnosed with high-functioning depression when I was a kid.

While I have gotten a hell of a lot better at coping with it, I still have bad days.

Hell, bad months at this point. I wouldn’t say I was suicidal exactly.

I still think about how easy it could be.

I still play out the scenarios in my head, but that's as far as it’s gotten in a long time.

I haven’t thought about actually going through with it for a few years now.

My arms stretch out, patting the area next to me where Maize should be.

The sheets are cold. I sit up in a panic.

She was here when I fell asleep; I know because I carried her inside and changed her clothes.

As soon as I laid down next to her, I wrapped my body around her like a shield.

I fell asleep counting her heartbeats and watching the rise and fall of her chest. I wanted to give her the space and time she needed before I asked her about the accident, the kidnapping, Trevor, everything that happened from the time she left Lucky’s bar all those months ago.

I didn’t want to push her to talk before she was ready.

I didn’t want to force my way into her life.

I figured she would talk when she was ready, but I think I gave her too much space.

I can’t help but feel guilty for how last night played out.

If I had talked to her about everything, or we had just stayed home last night, all of this could have been avoided.

She has had panic attacks in the past, but none came close to the one last night.

Normally, she breaks out of them easily, but it’s as if whatever triggered her last night completely took over.

Is she okay right now? How long has she been awake? Where the hell did she go?

I rush out of bed, almost tripping over the blankets tangled around my legs. Slinging the bedroom door open, I am greeted with the scent of fresh coffee. My feet carry me in the direction on autopilot. The closer I get, the more the ache in my chest loosens.

Rounding the corner into the kitchen, I breathe a little easier once she comes into view. She looks tired but more put-together than I expected her to be. It seems to be her default. Acting like the world is not falling apart, even if it is.

She doesn’t notice me as I walk up to her. My hands bracket her waist. A gasp leaves her mouth as I push her forward until she is pinned between me and the kitchen counter. I don’t want to give her the space to run. “We need to talk about last night,” I whisper into her ear.

“Do we have to?” She rubs her ass against me, trying to distract me.

I push into her further. Letting her know she is not escaping me or this conversation. “If not right now, then we need to later.” My body may be giving in to her in this moment, but her distractions won’t work forever.

She wiggles against me a little more. “Deal.”

My shirt is riding up high enough on her body that I know she is probably still naked underneath it.

I kick her feet apart with my own and run my fingers up the inside of her thighs to confirm my suspicions.

When my fingers graze against bare skin instead of lace, I’m not even surprised.

I turn her to face me; the little brat smiles like she is innocent.

“Walking around the house in just my t-shirt. If I didn’t know any better, I would think you were trying to kill me.

” She taps me lightly on the cheek; her eyes sparkle with a challenge.

“I thought you liked the easy access…. Sir.”

This woman knows what she does to me. She is doing it on purpose. I grab her underneath her thighs and hoist her onto the counter next to the coffee maker. I part her legs, stepping between them as I do.

“You're testing my restraint today, Chaos.”

“Am I?”

“Keep it up, and I’ll fuck you right here.”

She reaches out, stroking my hard dick through my sweatpants. “Oh, you make this too easy. What if it’s exactly what I want?”

“If that’s the case, all you had to do was ask.” I practically growl the words.

“Where is the fun in asking? I'd rather make you snap.” She may sound like she is teasing me, but the look in her eyes paired with the way she is biting her lip is fucking lethal.

I trail my fingers up each of her thighs, taking the hem of her shirt with me until it sits bunched at her hips.

Her pupils are blown wide as she watches me to see what I do next.

Placing one of her legs over my shoulder, I gently bite the soft skin right above her knee, alternating between biting, sucking, and kissing as I make my way to the apex of her thighs.

Each gasp and muffled moan slipping from her lips only makes me want to drag this out longer.

I want her dripping and begging for me to fuck her.

I want to torture her as much as she did me.

I place a soft kiss on her pubic bone, completely avoiding the spot she actually wants me to be.

Her arousal visibly drips as she squirms on the counter.

“Always so wet for me.” I blow against her clit.

She raises her hips, trying to put my mouth where she wants it.

I raise back to my full height, taking a step away from her.

She whines, mumbling something about me being an asshole under her breath.

“What was that, Chaos? I don’t think I heard you correctly.”

She shoots daggers at me, knowing damn well I heard what she said. “Fuck. Fine. Please.”

“Please? No. That doesn’t sound right, now does it?”

“Please fuck me already?”

“Almost but not quite.”

“FINE! Please fuck me, Sir. Are you happy now?”

“Ecstatic. Now, since you asked so nicely, you can take what you want, Darling Chaos.”

Her hand immediately darts into the waistband, pulling my dick free while her other hand on my waist pulls me closer.

I love it when she gets this eager for me.

I remove both of her hands from my body, gripping both of her wrists in one hand and pinning them above her head.

My lips crash against hers as I step back between her parted legs.

The kiss is anything but sweet. It’s teeth, hunger, and pure desperation.

I stroke my length with my free hand, running it through her wet folds before lining my crown up with her entrance.

I pause for a moment. Dragging this out for just another breath.

Her face twists in annoyance. She knows exactly why I am doing this. “Plea-”

The rest of the word dies on her lips as I push inside her in one single thrust. Inch by inch, I pull out of her agonizingly slowly before repeating the process a few more times.

I drop her wrists, using both of my arms to hold her in a position that gives me more access.

With both of her legs thrown over my arms, I use my brutal grip on her hips as leverage to hit the perfect angle with every thrust. I pick up my pace, thrusting in and out, my movements becoming erratic.

She is getting close if the way her pussy is gripping my dick is any indication.

Her head falls back against the cabinet as she shouts in ecstasy. I follow right behind her.

“Uh… can I get a cup of coffee?” The question sounds nonchalant, as if completely oblivious to what he walked in on.

Maizyn literally jumps at the question, and if I wasn’t still inside of her, she probably would’ve fallen from the counter. Her cheeks heat in embarrassment as she hides her face in my chest.

“Yeah, man. I didn’t realize you were home. Don’t let us stop you.” I have to fight my amusement at getting caught.

Gavin walks into the kitchen, grabbing a cup from the cabinet right next to where we are.

He pretends not to look our way, but I knew he was standing in the doorway long before he announced his presence.

Should I have stopped fucking Maize? Probably.

But I would be lying if I said I wasn’t interested in his reaction.

I felt his eyes on us when we first started.

He deliberately watched until she came all over my dick.

The question is why? I was also confused about why I wasn’t mad he did. If anything, I was intrigued.

He turns his back on us as he grabs the creamer from the fridge.

I slide out of Maize, tucking myself back into my sweats.

She hops down from the counter and wrestles with the hem of the shirt to get it back down to cover herself.

Her cheeks are flushed pink. If I had to take a guess, it wasn’t just the embarrassment of getting caught that caused them to be that way.

“I am so sorry. I… I am so embarrassed. I completely spaced and forgot you are staying here now. I didn’t mean-” She rambles on in a panic.

A small chuckle leaves his lips as he turns to face her, “It’s fine, Little Tornado.

I didn’t mean to interrupt your morning.

” He flinches as if it finally clicked in his mind what he just said.

He has known her for one day and he has already given her a nickname.

I wait for the anger I expect to feel, yet it never comes.

How could I be angry when I have been in the same situation?

The first night I met her, I called her Chaos; it stuck ever since. She has that effect on people.

Wait. No? Does he? Can she be the same thing for him she is to me?

I don’t know, but the look I just saw flicker across his face is a look I know all too well.

It’s the same way I look at her. How do I tell the girl who spent her whole life wanting to be loved that not only does she own my entire soul, but she captured the attention of my best friend as well? Why was I even okay with it?
