Maizyn

Chapter Twenty-Seven

Morning comes too fast and not fast enough. I don't think any of us got any decent amount of sleep. I couldn't get comfortable all night. Anytime I shifted, the boys woke up to see if I needed anything. I'm just glad to be going home. We are just waiting on my discharge papers at this point.

I'm not sure who was more anxious. You would think because I was the one who was shot, it would be me, but Atlas and Gavin have been on edge all morning.

The nurse knocks on the door, pulling me from my thoughts. “I have the discharge papers for you. Let me just grab a wheelchair.”

“I don't need a wheelchair.” I seethe. I know it’s not this lady’s fault that I’m here but I can’t help it.

“Ma'am, it's a safety precaution because you just had surgery.”

“I can walk just fine.”

“But-” The nurse tries to reason with me, but Atlas cuts her off.

“I'll carry her out; it's fine.”

“You are not carrying me out of here.” I shoot daggers at the side of his head and the fucker has the audacity to wink at me.

“Really? The way I see it, one of us carries you, or you get wheeled out in a wheelchair. Which option do you prefer?”

I pause for a moment, weighing the options. I don't like either one, but I'd rather pick the option that makes me seem less helpless. “I'll take the wheelchair, but don't you dare try to push me in it.”

“See, that wasn’t that hard,” Atlas says with a laugh, knowing he got his way. He talked me into a trap just so I would pick the stupid chair.

“Whatever.” I roll my eyes automatically.

The nurse drops the papers on the table by the door. “I will leave you to get dressed; hit the buzzer whenever you are ready to go.”

“Do you have to be so difficult, Little Tornado? I will let the eye roll slide this time, but any other ones will be kept in mind for once you're better. We are all just trying to help you.” Gavin's soft voice only further irritates me.

“I don't need to be babied, Gavin." I hiss the words under my breath.

“The people you love taking care of you when you need it is not babying you.”

I look away, shutting the conversation down.

I know they love me. I can't always help the way I react to something.

I learned early on the need to be independent.

Unfortunately, no matter how hard I tried to suppress it, I still crack.

Sometimes it's hard to depend on someone else for anything.

I know I can trust Atlas to be there. He has proven that.

I think I can trust Gavin too, but it's like actually needing them has brought up years of past trauma.

I know it's unfair to them. That I'm lashing out, but I can't help the involuntary reaction.

Atlas and Gavin sit on opposite sides of me, both of them reaching for one of my hands.

Atlas hesitates before asking, “Do you wanna talk about it?”

“Do I have to?” My shoulders slump as the weight of this conversation settles onto them.

Gavin leans forward. Gently embracing me in a hug. He kisses the top of my head before whispering into my hair. “I think it would help all three of us if you did.”

My eyes squeeze shut for a moment. I don't know how to put how I'm feeling into words.

I let the first thing I think of fumble from my lips.

Maybe not overthinking it is the best way to have this conversation.

I open my eyes again but avoid eye contact with either of them.

“I don't always know how to accept help.

When I need it, even though I know it's irrational, sometimes the walls come back up.”

Atlas embraces me from the other side, pressing his forehead against my shoulder.

His lips brush my skin as he speaks. “That's okay; we can figure it out as we go.

But let's change the perspective for a moment. You let us take care of you during aftercare. You have to let us help you when you truly need it.”

I shake my head back and forth. “That's different.”

“How so?” Atlas raises a brow in question.

“I don't know; it just is.” I sigh in frustration.

“The only difference is you allow yourself to be vulnerable; you trust us to take care of you in that setting. This is no different.” Gavin keeps his tone soft.

“Can you trust us to care for you in all aspects of your life?” Atlas rubs circles on the back of my hand with his thumb.

Tears drip down my cheeks because I know they are right. “I can try.” I choked the word out. The past forty-eight hours feel mentally fucking exhausting on top of how tired I physically feel.

Atlas gently wipes the tears from my face. “That's all we are asking for you to do, Chaos.”

“Can you help me get changed? Do I even have clothes to change into?”

“Natali brought you a change of clothes.”

I nodded my head, allowing them to help me undress. Atlas unties the hospital gown, slipping it from my arms, causing it to pool on the ground at my feet. He pulls a hoodie over my head, giving me the time to put my arms through the sleeves on my own before helping me rise to my feet.

Gavin crouches down in front of me, allowing me to brace my hands on his shoulders while Atlas holds my waist to keep me steady.

My legs are a bit shaky. This is my first time getting out of bed after waking up in the hospital.

The pain in my side is a dull ache as they help me step into a pair of sleep shorts before guiding me to sit back down on the edge of the bed.

I put on a pair of house slippers and buzz the nurse.

Atlas

It’s clear that we all have a lot of things we are still working on.

Maizyn talking to us about how she is feeling is proof that we are moving in the right direction.

The nurse brings the wheelchair, only staying around long enough to go over how to care for Maizyn's wound and to let us know to come back in two weeks to get the stitches removed.

Gavin goes out to get the car while I help Maizyn to her feet.

I stay close enough that I can help her if she needs it.

I hold the chair still for her, keeping it from rolling out from under her.

I take a step back, forcing myself to let her have the independence she needs.

Her brows scrunch in concentration as she struggles with maneuvering through the doorway.

“Do you need me to help you?”

“No, just give me a second; I can figure it out.”

After three more tries and a few curse words later, she manages to get through the tight doorway. “Yes! See, I told you!”

I actually laugh at her reaction. “You killed it. Good job.”

Her laughter lifts some of the weight from my chest. I follow behind her as she speeds down the hallway.

I don't know how she figured it out so quickly, but I'm glad she seems to be making light out of the situation.

Gavin is parked at the entrance, leaning against his car, waiting for us.

Maizyn stops halfway to the car. Taking a moment to soak in the surroundings, her nose scrunches in confusion.

With her history of memory loss, my stomach drops to my feet; panic rising to the surface. I crouch down in front of her, cupping her face in both hands. “Hey, hey, what's wrong?”

Her eyes snapped to me in surprise. “Huh? What?”

“Are you okay?

“Yeah, why wouldn't I be?”

I sit back on my feet, taking a deep breath, letting my hands fall to my lap. “You looked confused. I panicked, I-” I shake my head to try to expel the unwanted emotions. “I thought-” the words stick in my throat fuck, I sound pathetic.

“You thought I forgot again…” Her words trail off, understanding dripping from them. She grabs my chin in one of her hands, forcing me to look up at her. “Please look at me, Atlas.

I let her. Her eyes sparkle as they connect with mine. I can't deny her even if I don't like her seeing me this way.

Her lips brush against mine, talking against them. “I'm still here with all my memories. You're stuck with me.”

“Happy to be, Darling Chaos. I wouldn't have it any other way, but what was the confused face for?”

“I didn't get to see the medical facility when I was first brought here. I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't this.” She gestures towards a large factory facade behind us.

“Oh, that's a good point.” My overreaction is even more embarrassing. No, I went into full-blown panic mode, and she was only confused by the fact that she was treated in a building where the inside and outside don't match.

Gavin hasn't moved from a spot quietly leaning against the car until the moment passes.

I rise to my feet, pulling myself back together.

It's scary how fast fear can take over. I nod to him, motioning for him to be the one to help Maizyn into the passenger seat.

Once she is settled, I push the wheelchair back to the designated area, then climb into the back seat behind her.

We make the drive from the facility to the house in twenty minutes, listening to the soft pop station because Maizyn likes singing off-key to all the songs.

Every smile and moment spent with her feels like it's worth so much more.

We almost lost her; I never want to take time with her for granted ever again.

I had her pain meds and antibiotics delivered to the house earlier today, along with plenty of groceries for the next few days, so there shouldn't be much reason we need to leave the house.

I hop out of the car first, rushing to open Maizyn’s door before she can get to it. I get her out of the car, but she pushes my hands away, wanting to walk on her own to the front door. Deciding it's not worth the argument, Gavin and I follow closely behind her.

“Alright, what are you in the mood to do? Are you tired? Do you want to relax and watch a movie?”

“A movie with you both sounds nice, but I honestly feel disgusting. Do you think I could get a bath or something first? My skin feels sticky, and I know I don't smell great.”

“You can't get your stitches wet, but if you don't mind us helping you, we can get you clean with the rag and wash your hair.”

“Um, yeah, that sounds fine, thanks."

I do a double-take cut off guard by how quickly she agreed.

Gavin

We finally get Maizyn undressed and into the walk-in shower.

We situate her on a folded-up towel so she wouldn't slip around.

Atlas washes her hair while I wash her body, using the removable shower head to avoid her stitches as best as possible.

She steadies herself with her hands on my hips, then slides them forward and begins attempting to work my pants open.

I grip her wrists in my soapy hands, discarding the loofa I was using. “Stop it, Maizyn. You are hurt. I don’t want to risk making your injury worse.”

“Me having a bullet hole in my side has nothing to do with how good my mouth works.”

“I don’t think that's a good idea, Chaos.”

“Will you both just hush and let me do what I want while you wash my hair? Are you really going to deny me what I want when I almost died? If I'm alive, I want to feel it.”

“That's not fair, Little Tornado.”

“Since when do I ever play fair?” She flutters her lashes before sticking her tongue out at me.

“Fine. If we do this, we do it our way, not yours. You remain still and if at any point you are in pain or put too much stress on your stitches, it stops. Do you understand me, Little Demon?”

“Yes, Daddy.”

Knowing there is nothing we wouldn't do for our girl, Atlas quickly rinses her hair and I scoop her off the floor. Atlas follows me into the bedroom, looking confused. Ok.. Guess it's up to me this time.

Once we're in the bedroom, I deposit Maizyn carefully at the edge of the bed. I look over to see Atlas already getting undressed and I do the same as I explain what I think will make this work.

“Atlas lay down on the bed. Maizyn is going to straddle you. The best way to do this without causing her discomfort or risking strain on her injury is to have her lie flat on your chest using her knees to keep her propped up. We are going to have to do all the work; she doesn’t move, or moves as little as possible.

Same safe word for everyone, is that clear? ”

The look on Atlas' face is almost worth stopping to take a picture of.

“Why the hell would I need a safe word?”

“Because Atlas, even you should have a safe word.

It's not just you and Maizyn anymore. If something makes you uncomfortable, or if I accidentally take things too far, or even if Maizyn takes things too far, use the safe word. The same rules apply to me. This is a new dynamic and a new position. Safe words are important to have even if you never have to use them. Is that clear to everyone?”

“Understood.” They echo; the tension in my shoulders eases a fraction. I'm nervous about how this will go, but I can't wait to see if my idea works.

Atlas pauses before speaking again. “I understand what you're saying; I just never thought of it that way.”

I help Maizyn carefully move into position on top of Atlas and hold her still when she automatically starts trying to move. Atlas thrusts up into her and her head falls back in bliss. Just wait, Little Demon; if I'm right, this is going to be our new collective favorite.

“Okay, good. Now slow your pace for a second, Atlas.”

I position myself alongside him, one hand on Maizyn’s waist and position the head of my cock brushing against his base as I tease her entrance. I feel his body tense, his pace stuttering at the feeling.

“Holy shit, are you about to-” They both groan as I slowly push inside Maizyn.

Fucking hell. I grit my teeth at the feeling shooting through me while I try not to go too fast. Maizyn is already tight, but with both of us?

It's euphoric. I feel every inch of her tight and wet pussy, and the throbbing of Atlas's cock makes my own jump in response. I pause to give both of them plenty of time to say the safe word. When no one protests, I take that as a sign to continue and grip Maizyn’s waist with my other hand.

Each thrust quickly builds my release. I was right.

This is definitely my new favorite position.

Lying in bed, sated, exhausted, all three of us wrapped in each other's arms. Atlas rubs his thumb in circles on Maizyn’s arm while I do the same on her opposite hip.

Atlas needs a bigger bed if we are doing this every night.

“Are we actually doing this?”

“Yeah, Chaos. I think we are.”

“I’m not going anywhere, Little Tornado, never again.”

“What happens next?” Maizyn’s voice is barely above a whisper.

I twirl her hair around one of my fingers. “You get better, and we take this one day at a time.”

Atlas kisses the top of her head. “Think you can do that for us?”

“Yeah, I think I can manage that. So what? Are we some kind of throuple now?” Maizyn full-on belly laughs as she says the word throuple.
