Chapter 38

Dimitri Morozov

I woke up first, like always, and the first thing I saw was him.

Rei, curled up against my side, still asleep.

His dark lashes rested against his cheeks, his lips were slightly parted, and there was a faint flush on his skin that made me smile.

He was so beautiful. He truly looked like a fairy.

His skin was so white, he looked like he belonged in a painting.

I had carried him back through the forest after our little hunt.

Once we got inside the mansion, I had taken him straight to the shower.

Though “shower” was a generous word for the way I had pressed him against the tiles and fucked him again.

Then I had carried his body to bed and taken him one more time.

Being inside Rei had quickly become my new favorite thing in the world. I could stay there forever.

I reached out and brushed a strand of hair from his forehead.

He stirred instinctively, nuzzling into my palm like a sleepy kitten seeking warmth as he pressed closer.

His nose brushed my wrist, seeking my touch even in his dreams. It was so fucking cute.

I wanted to eat him up. He gave me cuteness aggression.

His eyes fluttered open. He blinked up at me, still half-buried in the pillow and my hand.

“Morning…” he murmured.

I leaned down and kissed him. He melted into it immediately, a tiny sigh escaping into my mouth as his fingers curled into my shirt.

“Morning, little fairy,” I whispered. “How do you feel?”

He blushed, hiding his face against my chest.

“I’m okay,” he murmured. “A little… sore. But okay. Really.”

I grinned, unable to stop myself. “Just a little sore, huh?” I teased. “After I fucked you three times and filled you up so full you were leaking my cum down your thighs? Careful, little fairy. I might have to check how sore you really are…”

Rei made a cute, embarrassed sound and swatted at my chest, but he was smiling. “Shut up.”

I kissed the tip of his nose, then rolled us out of bed despite his sleepy protests. “Come on, baby. Let me feed you. You’re going to need your strength.”

I made him stay in bed a few more minutes while I threw on some sweatpants and headed downstairs to the kitchen.

The whole time I was cooking, I kept glancing toward the stairs, half-expecting him to appear.

When he finally did, padding down in one of my oversized shirts and a pair of soft shorts, I wanted to eat him up again.

God, he was so cute and hot at the same time.

He looked thoroughly fucked and perfectly mine.

We ate at the big kitchen island. I watched him take the first bite, humming in approval. I liked when he did that. It meant he liked what I was cooking.

Halfway through the meal, Rei shifted in his chair, trying to hide it but wincing as he adjusted. I could not resist.

“Sore?” I asked innocently, smirking over the rim of my coffee mug. “Need me to kiss it better later?”

Rei glared at me, though it was the cutest fucking glare I had ever seen. “You’re enjoying this way too much.”

“Guilty,” I admitted with a low chuckle.

His glare melted into a flustered laugh as he kicked my foot lightly under the table. “Eat your breakfast, you pervert.”

Eventually I set my mug down and leaned back. “Ilya and Alexei will be here today.”

Rei nodded. “I’ll be upstairs while you talk.”

I reached over and squeezed his hand, pulling it up to press a kiss to his knuckles. “Thank you, baby. I won’t let it drag on too long. Promise I’ll come find you after.”

He leaned in for one last sweet kiss before heading back upstairs. But he only got halfway up the stairs when I caught him.

“Hey,” I murmured, catching his wrist gently to stop him. He turned, blinking at me. I tucked a purple flower behind his ear. “I didn’t forget,” I said softly. “My little fairy needs his flower.”

Rei’s cheeks flushed instantly, a shy, pleased smile breaking across his face as his hand came up to touch the petal.

“Now you can go.”

Soon after, Ilya and Alexei stepped inside. Ilya burst in first.

“Damn, Dimitri,” Ilya said immediately. “You look thoroughly fucked. That little fairy of yours keeping you busy all night?”

I snorted, shaking my head as I clapped him on the shoulder. “Something like that.”

But my gaze shifted to Alexei behind him.

Alexei had always been cold and never showed many emotions, but there was a dead, hollow look in his eyes. Like something inside him was dying. And I now knew why. I had found out recently.

“You good?” I asked him, though I knew he was not. I would not be either if I were him.

Alexei met my eyes. “Fine.”

I jerked my head toward the study. “In here. Rei’s upstairs. He’ll stay out of it.”
