40. Dee
Chapter forty
Dee
“Dee, where are you going?” Abby mumbles from her bed.
I’m caught, door cracked open, me a step away from leaving our room at eleven thirty at night with zero excuse. And my mind is absolutely empty. I’ve been able to sneak out twice during our trip to visit Dylan’s room, but tonight I must have been too loud.
“Um…for a walk?”
“A walk. Right now?” The disbelief in her voice is enough to have me closing the door. I hear rustling in her bed before she flips on the bedside lamp. “A walk. Right now. In that?”
Shit. I was going for seductress vibes, and since Dylan’s room is literally two doors down from ours, I didn’t give much thought to the risk of being seen in something a little…obvious.
“Uhhhh…”
Abby holds up her palm, saving me from whatever word vomit was bound to spill out. “Dylan?” she asks, unsurprised.
I throw up my hands, palms slapping my thighs as they fall. “What the fuck? You knew?”
“Dee.” She levels me with her stare. “We all know.”
“Psh.” I huff a breath. “I mean…what do you mean? What do you…” She raises her eyebrows at me. “Fuck. When did you figure it out?”
“I placed my bets last Halloween.”
“Okay, nothing was happening between us on Halloween.” I sit on the edge of my bed, facing Abby.
“Oh I know. But I also knew it would.” She scooches back so she’s leaning against the headboard. “There was too much tension. When you invited him to move in together, even temporarily, I had my suspicions you’d both cave eventually.”
“So, how does everyone know?” I cringe, worry thrumming through my veins at the thought of Dylan hearing this. Will it freak him out if he knows it’s not a secret anymore?
“Dom let it slip.”
“He told Dom? Traitor.” I sneer, even as the wave of relief hits me. If he felt comfortable sharing this with Dom, maybe everyone knowing won’t be quite the shock I thought it’d be. Why am I worried about how Dylan will react? It’s not as if we’re serious or anything.
Yikes. I hope Bec doesn’t hate us for the timing of everyone finding out coinciding with the end of this trip.
“We’re friends,” I say quickly. “With benefits. And sex.”
“I assumed the sex was the benefit.”
“Well, he also gave me a job.” She smirks.
“And concert tickets.” Her eyebrows raise.
“And a cute birthday present. And he helped me turn off Survivor when I was doom spiraling, which is a huge feat. I tried to bite him, but he held strong. He hid the remote and everything. Couldn’t find it for two days. ”
“Yeah…just friends.” She adjusts her bonnet before falling back onto her pillow, pulling the covers over her shoulder. “Don’t let me get in the way of all the friendshipping you were going to be doing at midnight. On vacation. In a hotel room. Wearing that.”
“Face the wall all you want, Abigail. I can hear the sass in your voice.” I stand, propping my fists on my hips.
She looks back at me, huge grin on her face. “Sorry, did you want me to hide my sass? I’m not very good at that. As long as you’re happy, Dee, go for it. Just try not to scream. He’s only a few rooms away and I’m exhausted.”

Less than ten seconds later I’m pounding my fist against Dylan’s door.
“Open up and face me, you traitor,” I whisper-shout, which is pointless, since I’m sure my fist banging on this door will wake anyone before my voice does.
“Jesus Christ, Dee,” Dylan exclaims as he opens the door, stepping back, giving me plenty of room to storm past him. But not before flicking him on the nose. “Ow, what was that for?”
“You told Dom.” He pales.
“Fucking hell, it was literally only days ago. He blabbed already?” He takes a step back, seeing my agitation growing. “Okay, I’m sorry. I needed to talk to someone about this.”
I huff, waving him off. “I’m being unfair. Apparently, there would have been suspicions without Dom being the worst secret keeper on the entire planet.”
“I’ll admit, Jake would have been the safer choice.”
“Ya think?”
“So, what does this mean?” He crowds me, backing me up into the wall next to his bed. “Are you done with me now that everyone knows?” His voice is playful.
“I thought you’d be upset.”
“I thought you would be, but I’m glad we don’t have to keep secrets anymore.
” He leans down, kissing my neck, his tongue hot as it drags up my throat.
I gasp when he tugs my ear between his teeth.
I melt into the wall, my knees weakening, and I grip his forearms to hold me steady before he dips lower this time, pulling my robe open and sucking my nipple through the lace of my lingerie.
“You’re gonna kill me with this. Holy fuck, you look incredible. ”
“But—oh fuck. Yeah, right there.” He’s not playing fair. His fingers tighten on my nipples.
My mind races, scattered, jumping from thought to thought before its attention is ripped away, forced to refocus on the way he plays my body like a fucking drum.
Ha, mental high five.
“What the fuck are we doing?” I ask aloud before I can second-guess myself.
“We’re getting naked,” he says, dropping his sweats to the floor. He steps out of them, kicking them aside so he’s standing there in only his boxer briefs.
Why am I overthinking this? Clearly Dylan isn’t. It’s not like everyone knowing changes anything. We can still do…whatever it is we’re doing. I came here for a reason. And I intend to see that through.
I slap a palm to his chest, stopping him from pressing me back into the wall.
“On your knees,” I demand.
He drops to the floor immediately, his stare fixed at the apex of my thighs. He tugs at my robe and I shrug it off my shoulders, feeling the satin brush along my skin as it falls to the floor.
Satisfaction sinks in when I see he’s hard, the sight of his dick barely contained in his underwear while his eyes drag over my body.
“Fucking hell, Dee.” His hands wrap around my knees, sliding up the back of my thighs before he’s gripping my ass, pulling at my cheeks. “This is my new favorite color. It’s going to kill me to tear this off your body because you look…” He adjusts himself.
“It stays on,” I say, reaching to play with my lace-covered nipples with one hand, the other grabbing his hand and placing it at my center.
“Jesus fuck, crotchless? Is this a reward?”
“For me. Now get to work.” I place my hand at the back of his head, gently guiding him where I want him most.
He dives forward, locking his lips on my pussy before licking along my slit and doing it all over again.
I call out his name as he lavishes me with wet kisses between firm strokes of his tongue.
I arch against the wall as he pulls one of my legs over his shoulder.
His hands find my ass, digging his fingers into my flesh, encouraging me to grind against his face.
He’s focused on me, watching my every reaction, absorbing every moan and movement, looking for that moment he forces me over the edge.
I thread my hands into his hair and drag him up for a kiss.
He lifts me, wrapping my legs around him and pressing me into the wall.
“You drive me fucking crazy, you know that.”
“That makes two of us,” I breathe.
“Gifting me with this perfect fucking pussy, all wrapped up like a goddamn present. Even has a goddamn bow.” He sucks my nipple into his mouth, gently nipping at the taut bud before dragging his nose along my cleavage, then thrusting his cock into me.
We moan together as he starts fucking me against the wall. I claw at his back, wanting more. Wanting everything.
He turns and takes us to bed, driving me into the mattress without skipping a beat. He fucks into me relentlessly.
“That’s it, baby. Fucking scream,” he demands. His hips work into me, grinding with perfect pressure.
“Don’t stop. Don’t fucking stop.”
“No more hiding. No more secrets. I want you out in the open.” He groans when I lift my hips, forcing him deeper.
“Like this? I don’t think anyone wants us out in the open with our nipples out,” I tease. He smacks my ass hard, forcing us together in a powerful thrust.
“But they’re so fucking pretty.” He grinds against my clit, before dropping to suck at my breast again.
I hold his head there, driven wild with sensation. “Fuck, I’m gonna come.”
He doesn’t stop, just keeps driving into me in the most perfect rhythm, hitting my clit with every thrust until I fall over the edge, screaming his name as I come.
He follows me into his own release a minute later, and we lie there, breathing heavy. He lazily kisses his way from my mouth to my stomach, then rests his head there.
“Dee?” His voice is a low rumble as I begin to play with his hair.
“Yeah,” I say softly, letting him know I’m here and my brain has somewhat returned to my body after he fucked me out of my mind.
“I’m glad everyone knows.”
My breath catches in my throat and my chest burns.
For some reason, my eyes water and I’m overcome with…
relief. This thing building between us, it’s a force I can’t fight.
A tide that slowly rose over time, taking me under, and now the current is so strong, and the waves are too high, I’ll never resurface.
But his words…they give me hope that I’m not swimming alone. He places another kiss on my stomach, and his entire body relaxes against me when I answer quietly, “Me too.”
We lie in silence for a few minutes before I work up the courage to ask. “Do you think if we didn’t move in together, we would still be here?”
“Truth?”
“Always,” I say, a pit forming in my stomach as intuition flares to life. I won’t be able to forget whatever confession Dylan is about to offer.
“I always wished it would. If I had known this would be the catalyst, I’d have been begging to be evicted years ago.” My face must give away my surprise because he continues, leaning up on his elbow to look at me. “You really didn’t know?”
I manage to shake my head before whispering, “How long?”
He runs his fingers through his hair on a deep exhale. “Since the beginning, Dee. I never let myself admit it. Convinced myself you weren’t interested to spare myself the potential rejection. But it’s always been there. This wondering. This desire to see what could be between us.”
“I felt it too,” I admit. “Wish we weren’t so stubborn.”
“Us? Stubborn?”
“More than anyone I know.”
“Then I’m grateful fate intervened.” He presses his lips to mine in a soft kiss, my insides melting into warm contentment. I rest my cheek against his chest, his heartbeat drumming along, lulling me into a deep sleep.
