49~ The Chaotic Trip

"Gosh Adhyay, you didn't pack food?", my wife yelled as she dumped my clothes in my suitcase. I groaned and looked at the two suitcases we had packed. Already we have packed things as if we are going to live there.

Aakriti says that she would need to change her clothes again and again for clicking photographs.

I never knew that she was telling me to carry so many clothes!

Amayra, at the last moment, asked to give her a separate suitcase because she was a grown up girl.

Even though Aakriti and I knew we would have to manage her stuff, we agreed.

"Why do we need food? We can always buy stuff on the plane!" I exclaimed, throwing her a pair of socks. She caught them and yelled, "We are not alone! There is a toddler with us! And plane food sucks, they charge so much money for nothing".

"Fine", I grunted and showed her two packets of lays, "are these okay?"

"You think your daughter and you can adjust with two packets of chips in a five hour car drive and three hour flight?

Go on", she mocked and snatched the chips from me.

When did my wife become a dinosaur? I don't get it!

It will take four hours to reach Delhi, we can always stop by a nice restaurant and have something in the airport!

"Did you keep extra clothes for Amayra?", she asked as she zipped the suitcase. Extra clothes? Why does Amayra need extra clothes?

"Amayra do you need extra clothes for the journey?

", I asked our daughter who was busy munching on chocolate.

She looked up as if we caught her and then shook her head which soon turned into a nod.

I craned my neck to have a look of Aakriti who was glaring at Amayra. What the hell is happening here?

Realising I could never win from Aakriti, I complied with what she said. By the time we were done, I could count three huge cabin baggage and three extra large suitcases. It almost seemed as if we were going to shift there permanently.

"Aah done! Now when do we need to go to the bus stop?", Aakriti asked, stretching her limbs. I snorted and said, "6PM at IMA hall".

With a nod, she collapsed on the bed along with Amayra who was already snoring.

"I am sleeping, wake me up at five", she announced.

I nodded then fell on the bed with a thud. I never knew family trips are this tiring. When I plan a trip, I don't think about food and all, just ironed clothes and some necessities but Aadhya made me pack weird things saying that we need it for Amayra. Is bringing a child on a trip this difficult?

"Aakriti? Can I get that sandwich you packed?

", I finally asked. It has been two hours since we boarded into the flight and I am not happy, not even a bit.

My beloved wife is sitting with the twins and no matter how hard I tried, she didn't let me sit with her.

Adrija and Yash are also on this trip?

Can you believe this? As if it was not enough, they are sitting just beside me!

The last thing I want to witness on this trip is my younger sister and best friend getting lovey dovey.

She turned as I was sitting on the seat behind her and gritted, "Go and ask for free food from that air hostess, bahut pyaar aa rha tha na uspar". I groaned and said, "Why are you jealous?"

She let out a sarcastic laugh and said, "Jealous of her?

I am a hundred times better and you Dr. Adhyay are a bastard!

"

But she passed me the box full of sandwiches, a bit too harshly.

I don't know why she is jealous over a mere air hostess?

We all know that talking sweetly to the passengers is their task and I never raise my voice at anyone.

I groaned and whisper yelled, "I love you yaar, how should I prove it?"

"Shut up bhai, we all heard how sweetly you talked", Hrishika said, looking back at me and I literally cried. Someone save me from these ferocious ladies!

"He even said, 'Thankyou Miss'", Yash added, imitating how I talked. I snapped my neck at my best friend and smacked his empty head.

"Aadhya, I think he is going to divorce you and flee with her", Adrija said, making me more bewildered. I can't believe my own people are betraying me! I gulped and looked at Aadhya throwing a deadly glare at a poor soul like me, what did I even do?

"Yash bhaiya, can you please deliver a solid punch to him?", she sarcastically asked and Yash nodded. My eyes widened and then I cried, "Aakriti, I just thanked her and it was Adrija's fault. She ordered a coffee, I was just receiving it since I was sitting on the corner most seat."

"She whispered something in your ear!", the four of them yelled simultaneously. I banged my head on the seat. They have got sharp ears.

"Fine, she asked me for my number", I said and all of them gasped.

"And you gave her?", Aakriti asked with a tone of uncertainty. I shook my head slowly and said, "I denied but she said she needed to consult for her father a-and"

"See! I knew! She was practically eye fucking him since we boarded the plane", Adrija roared as if she proved something huge.

"Husbands save their wives but here the case is opposite. Aakriti has to save our Adhyay", Yash commented, shaking his head dramatically. Never in my whole life I imagined that Aadhya would be jealous, like jealous in a literal sense.

"Bhai yaar, why are you so innocent? She doesn't want to consult about father, she wants to consult about your relationship status", Hrishika explained and Adrija nodded.

I and innocent? Akriti knows how innocent I am.

I just tell my hidden desires to everyone and I notice everything, I mean everything.

I prefer not to overreact like these guys do.

"Well, I am married. It's obvious", I said in a duh tone and showed them my hand which had the engagement ring on it.

"We have a daughter too", I said pointing at a sleeping Amayra. The four of them rolled their eyes and Aadhya said, "How stupid are you? Divorces happen as well!"

"I am not divorcing you!", I exclaimed. Why the hell are we having this conversation and that too on a plane between a hundred people?

"Stupid, that air hostess thinks she can lure you and get you divorced", Adrija said and munched a sandwich.

"She's stupid then", I harshly said and bit the already cold sandwich. Munching it furiously, I didn't looked at my wife and her assistants. Ever since I have gotten married, my siblings have changed their sides. It almost looks that Akriti is their sister and I am just her husband.

"Adhyay! You are being so quiet", Adrija popped in, and I rolled my eyes.

She loves setting fire in my house and then enjoys the drama with her good for nothing husband.

Her husband! He is a betrayer. I have lost count of how many times I saved him from Adrija but no, he will always take her side and will turn up against me.

"You know what guys? I hate you all", I roared as I munched the sandwich angrily. Well I am furious that they didn't ask me once and cooked their own theories. I didn't expect Hrishika to do this with me and Aakriti? She was jealous? She was jealous after whatever happened last night?

"Feelings are mutual Adhyay", Adrija boringly replied.

"Good evening ladies and gentlemen, we have reached Port Blair and at the moment we are circling the city. We are before time and it might take a while to land. Thankyou", the pilot's voice rang inside the plane. I craned my neck to see out of the window but Adrija had blocked the view.

"Hey Adrija, can you shift a little bit?

" I asked but she looked at me and said, "Not possible, I am looking outside".

She again turned her head to look out while I glanced a helpless look at Yash.

He shrugged his shoulders and whispered, "I told you, shaadi is barbaadi but you didn't listen. Now suffer".

I groaned and whispered , "Was that hostess really eye fucking me?"

"They exaggerated but yeah she was looking umm interested in you", Yash honestly said and I shook my head. They are insane and now this trip is going to be chaotic!
