Chapter 6 Harmoni
Isat in my baby boy’s room and watched his dad change him.
Although I was physically there, my mind was somewhere else.
I almost lost my life at the hands of an obsessed ass bitch.
I was beaten, tortured, orally assaulted, sodomized, and degraded by Serg and Diamond.
I would never tell Rowdy what all had been done to me because it made me feel less than.
Diamond had found a nigga just as sick as her.
She ordered him to do shit to me that I would have never imagined putting someone through, and all while I was bleeding and going through afterbirth.
I was beyond traumatized, and I could only hope that those Memphis niggas had already sent those bitches to their maker.
Once Rowdy changed Cadence, he took him into the living room with his dad.
He told me to throw on some shoes. I didn’t want my child to be away from me for even one moment.
I told Rowdy that I needed to bring Cadence if I was going anywhere outside of the house, and he told me that the baby couldn’t go.
I walked into the living room and looked Grimy in his eyes. He gave me a look in return that let me know he would lay down his life for my son. I was still hesitant about leaving the house, but I knew that I was safest with Rowdy.
Rowdy turned on ocean sounds and let them fill his car. He always made sure I was comfortable, and I loved that. We were riding for a while before anything started to look familiar. As we drove down the dirt road, I remembered being this way earlier when they found me.
“No, no, no. Take me home, Rowdy. I didn’t want to be here. Please take me home.”
“Bae, I promise to never let another soul hurt you. You need to see this for yourself so you can know that it’s really over. I got you. You never have to be afraid when you’re with me. I swear you don’t,” Rowdy said as he parked the car then walked around to my side.
He opened my door and helped me out of the car. I was still very sore, and it hurt to even walk. My man grabbed my hand and walked me to the door of the house. My feet were frozen in place as I stood at the front door, and it was hard for me to even breathe.
Rowdy opened the door, and all the guys that we had seen earlier were still there, standing around.
They greeted Rowdy and me and told him that they were waiting for us.
Serg was unrecognizable and barely breathing.
He and Diamond were sitting on the floor in the living room duct taped by their hands and feet.
Diamond was beaten badly, but she looked nothing like Serg.
Rowdy pulled his gun off his waist and passed it to me.
He told me to dead this shit once and for all.
I looked at Diamond and felt bad for her.
She lived a very miserable life. Since I was also a mother, I didn’t want her son to grow up motherless.
I asked the guys if they knew where her phone was, and they passed me a bag with all her belongings in it.
“Do you want your son to know anything before you leave here? I can let you record him a voice memo and send it to whoever has him right now. Jakari is in jail, so I know it has to be your mom or your sister,” I asked Diamond.
Rowdy whispered in my ear and let me know that Taylor had already been taken care of. As much as I wanted to feel sorry or remorseful, I didn’t. The tape was taken off Diamond’s mouth and she literally spat in my direction. Lucky for her, that shit didn’t touch me.
“Diamond, what I need you to do is record a message telling your mom that you and your sister are safe. Tell her that you are taking her out of town with you and that when the smoke clears, you will be back. Tell her not to look for you. Tell your son whatever message you want him to know from your heart. I know you love your son, but you also know this shit gotta come to an end. You’ve done too much, love,” Rowdy told Diamond.
“What happened to my sister? What the fuck did y’all do to her?
Let me go, so I can show y’all who y’all done fucked with!
Taylor ain’t never did shit to nobody, and now y’all saying something has happened to her, and you want me to lie.
Nigga, fuck you! I’m gon’ haunt you bitches for the rest of my life! ” Diamond spat.
“If you don’t record the message, your mom and son will be dead. If your mom thinks that you aren’t okay, she’s gonna come looking for you. If she puts her nose in my business, the bitch is as good as dead, so please go on and do what I told you to do!” Rowdy advised.
With eyes full of tears, Diamond reluctantly recorded the message, and I almost cried for her.
The way she loved her baby boy was the same way that I loved mine.
That’s why Diamond had to die. She put what I loved in danger and threatened my family.
She even fucked up my mental and had things done to me that I would never stop having nightmares about.
“You ain’t built for this shit! You not gon’ kill me, Harmoni.
I’m going to continue to make your life as miserable as you made mine.
You think you better than me ’cause you had Jakari and now Black.
I have my own nigga too, and you see what he’ll do for me.
You not the only bitch that can be loved out here!
Ain’t shit special about you. If you don’t kill me today, I promise I won’t rest until you the bitch in the box,” Diamond said to me.
“Diamond, you are the one who had a baby with my nigga. I left him so that y’all could be a family, and he still didn’t want you.
That had nothing to do with me. You tormented my life all because of a nigga I don’t even think of.
I feel sorry for you. I do believe you will kill me if I don’t kill you, so I pray your soul can finally rest.” I said as I pulled the trigger, causing Diamond to fall flat on her back.
After I shot Diamond in her head, I told them to get Serg up, put him on his knees, and pull his pants down.
Serg was crying and hollering at the top of his lungs like a bitch.
He had violated me, so now I was going to return the favor.
When they bent Serg over, I grabbed the broom out the corner of the room and rammed it up his ass as far as I could.
He screamed and wiggled, trying to get loose, but I rammed it again, this time harder and deeper.
I repeated this until he passed out, and I was satisfied.
Then, I dropped the broom on the floor, turned around, and headed to the car.
A few moments later, Rowdy came out behind me with a backpack.
He threw the bag in the backseat and backed out the driveway.
Before we could pull off, we heard gunshots and saw flashes that lit the whole house up like a photoshoot.
Rowdy grabbed my face and kissed my forehead.
He placed his hand in mine and held it the entire ride back home.
As weeks passed, I was slowly starting to get back into my normal routine.
I slept a little better knowing that Diamond nor her sick ass nigga wouldn’t be bothering me or my family again.
I secretly started to see a therapist once a week virtually.
Every Tuesday, I would go into my office and whisper the entire time.
It wasn’t that I was hiding anything; I just didn’t want my man to think that I was a nut case or fucked up in the head.
As a black woman, I knew how important it was to make sure my mental health was in check.
We often tried to sweep things under the rug and ignore it, but I knew I needed help.
To be the best mother and best wife I could be, I was going to do what needed to be done.
Eventually, I would talk to Rowdy about it because we promised to always be honest.
As I got out of the shower and headed toward the kitchen, I could smell breakfast cooking. Heading down the hall, I heard singing coming from my baby’s nursery. I walked in, and Ciara was rocking and singing to him.
“What are you doing here so early? You gon’ spoil my baby by holding him all the time,” I joked.
“Girl, you sit up and hold him all day yourself, so please stop it. How are you feeling today? You glowing, girl!” Ciara complimented.
“You the one that’s glowing! I’m feeling good, but let’s talk about you!
When is your appointment? You know I’m gonna be there.
Everybody already knows that I’m them babies’ Pappy.
I ain’t gon’ miss a beat. Rowdy was asking me to let him know when it was so he could tag along.
I told his ass no! He trying to do too much, but we really want you to know you have all the support in the world. ”
Ciara smiled uncomfortably, and I could tell she was getting emotional, so I changed the subject after she told me the date.
I saved it in my calendar and talked about her studying for her exam that was coming up in a few months.
Rowdy called for us to come into the kitchen because it was almost time to eat.
I hadn’t had too much of an appetite lately, but Ciara handed Cadence to me so fast that it made my head spin.
She was in the kitchen fixing her plate before I could make it down the hallway.
Walking into the kitchen I saw that Rowdy’s dad and Dimeo were standing in there talking.
As soon as Dimeo saw Cadence, her face lit up, and she begged to hold him.
I made her wash and sanitize her hands, then I passed him to her.
Dimeo asked to have a family brunch today so she could make an announcement.
She had been there twice this week already for Cadence but never mentioned having any news to share.
