5. Chapter 5
Chapter five
Pony
Luckily, Remi had more condoms. I doubt it would have stopped us, but without them, we would’ve had to get creative.
Empty wrappers litter the suite—the bedroom, the kitchen, on the floor near the couch I bent her over, and in the bathroom when I took her in the shower.
As I collect those wrappers to throw them away, I can’t help thinking that not once have I experienced a night like last night. I couldn’t get enough of her. She’s like an addictive drug; the more I have, the more I need.
It’s selfish, but I don’t want her to leave town.
It’s too soon to lose her. I want more time.
It makes no sense feeling such a strong bond so quickly, but being with her feels like the start of something—something significant and powerful—and I’m not prepared to give it up. I’m not ready to give her up.
Everything about her has captured and enthralled me.
The moment my eyes swept over her at the bar, I thought she was the most stunning woman I’ve ever laid eyes on.
After our night together, after getting to know her, that thought hasn’t dimmed in the least. If anything, my feelings have only grown stronger.
I met her less than twelve hours ago, and as crazy as it sounds, she already feels vital to me.
Remington is the only woman I’ve ever felt completely comfortable with. The first where I can drop my guard and be myself. I want a chance to get to know her, and it’s just my luck she’s leaving town.
She’s in the hotel bathrobe, standing at the window when I come out of the bathroom. Illuminated by the light streaming through the window, she looks like a glowing angel.
She turns when she hears me approach. I anchor one hand in her hair, the other wrapping around her to hold her close. My mouth traces her full, sensuous lips, memorizing the taste and feel of them. Without hesitation, her tongue slides against mine.
“I can’t stop kissing you.”
“Then don’t,” she murmurs against my lips, her hands drifting, dancing over my abs. “We have about forty minutes until I have to go.”
She shrugs the bathrobe off her shoulders, letting it fall to the floor, and with a sultry grin, waves a condom at me.
We’re on the top floor, and with the reflective film covering the windows, it isn’t as if anyone can see us. That’s good because I don’t share. Her beautiful body is for my eyes only. When I growl and push her up against the window, she doesn’t seem concerned.
Once my cock is sheathed, I cup her luscious ass and lift her off her feet. “You’ve got some exhibitionist in you, Remi.”
She wraps her long legs around my waist. “It doesn’t seem to be bothering you any.”
Her back hits the window as I slide into her. “Fuck no. It’s sexy as hell.”
Our bodies feel perfectly attuned to each other. I’ve never been with anyone I’ve felt this sort of bond with. As if our bodies already know precisely what the other craves.
When we’re both spent and panting, I ease out of her and set her back on her feet. We’ve got just enough time for a quick shower before our magical night comes to an end.
Reluctantly, we dress and leave her room. Remi’s camera equipment is slung over her shoulder in a large, specialized backpack she refuses to let me carry. I carry her duffle over mine.
On the elevator ride down, I keep her plastered against my side. Her arm stays around me, her head resting against my chest, as if she’s as reluctant as I am to let go.
I brush her hair off her face. “When do you think you’ll be back?” I assume it won’t be long. The only luggage she has is a backpack with camera equipment and a duffle that’s hardly big enough for the basics, a change of clothes, and toiletries.
“That’s a good question.” She tips her head and kisses me.
The way she looks at me, responds to me, the intensity of how this woman makes me feel. I think she feels it too. At least I hope she does.
I pull her into me, hold her tight, and breathe her in. “I don’t want to let you go, Remi. I know it’s your job, but I wish you weren’t leaving. I just met you and I’m not ready to lose you so soon.”
When the elevator doors slide open, I hitch her duffle higher up on my shoulder and take her hand. I want…need the connection, knowing this is the last time I can touch her until she returns.
On the sidewalk, I set her duffle down and pull out my phone. “Do you have your phone?”
After exchanging numbers, I kiss her like it’s my reason to live. She responds just as single-mindedly. I hold her close, pulling her scent deep into my lungs one last time. Then, reluctantly, I step back and walk away from the best thing that’s happened to me in a long, long time.
