Chapter Thirty-One
XADEN
Cas and I pull up out front of Lorenzo’s. The old man has been blowing my phone up. I’m forty minutes late for this meeting and I don’t give a fuck. Cas tosses me the duffle bag as we step out of the car. I shoot him a grin and wag my brows.
“You’re a sick son of a bitch, ya know that?” The humor in his tone is present.
“Yeah, I fucking am,” I agree as we step inside Lorenzo's house. I ignore all his guards, knowing they are only here for show as I make my way toward his office with Cas right on my heels. The second we step inside, my father snaps his head up to glare at me. I can tell he is wanting to rip me in half with his words but he won’t do that in front of Masen and his bitch of a father, Steven.
I motion for Cas to take a seat on the sofa.
Masen shoots him a glare but says nothing as I round the desk to stand beside my father. I shoot both Kellars a smile.
“You’re late,” Steven grits out. I want to smash the cunt’s teeth down his fucking throat, but manage to refrain when the memory of what I just did hits me. I keep my smile in place as I answer.
“I know, I did try to get here earlier but my girlfriend was emotional—”
“She isn’t your fucking girlfriend!” Masen roars. The moment his father snaps his head toward him and snarls, I know I have them right where I want them.
“Watch your mouth!” Steven hisses.
Masen keeps his focus on me as he answers his father. “The prick thinks Toren is his girlfriend.” I feel Steven’s eyes on me but I refuse to look away from Masen, we’re locked in a battle of wills right now and I’ll be damned if I let that little cocksucker win!
“I don’t think it, Masey boy, I fucking know it,” I taunt. Cas chuckles just to be a prick and drive my point home. Masen leaps to his feet and slams his hands down on the desk, making both our fathers snap but we ignore them.
“You fucking touch her—”
“And you’ll what?” I bite back with venom in my tone. “Face it, you left her. I found her and now she’s with me.”
“She would never let the likes of you touch her.”
Bingo!
I smile so fucking wide Masen’s face scrunches. I lift the duffle bag and dump it on the desk.
“I brought you a surprise,” I say in a sweet tone that has his face slackening. Masen looks from the bag to me then back again. He’s trying to act unaffected but I can smell the fear wafting off him in waves. He probably thinks his sister’s head is in there.
“Open the damned thing,” Steven barks. Masen slowly reaches out and begins to open the bag.
His chest is rising and falling rapidly, it’s making me hard seeing how fucking terrified he is.
That little fuck wasn’t made for this life.
Taking him down is going to be so fucking easy thanks to the blonde at my house.
When he opens the bag and begins to pull the sheet out he frowns until he sees the blood. He drops it and leaps back a step. Anger sparks in his eyes and I relish the look, begging him without words to make a move and come for me so I can end him right here, right now.
“Where the fuck is my sister?” he roars.
I wave him off like a prick and yawn. “She’s fine,” I say in a mocking tone.
“If you’ve hurt her, I’ll fucking kill you.”
I roll my eyes acting like a dipshit teenager. “Dude, she is perfectly fine. She’s at home, showering now.”
Masen goes rigid and his face fills with horror. “Where is the blood from?” he asks quietly.
I shoot him a wink as I lift my shirt to show him the marks she left on my chest. Masen stumbles backward while his father just sits there looking confused. Lorenzo on the other hand seems to have lost his anger and is now filled with sick satisfaction.
“What is the meaning of this?” Steven barks.
“You gonna tell him or should I?” I ask Masen.
The dumb fuck just stands there, staring at the bloodied sheet.
He looks like his world has just came crashing down and I fucking love the sight of it.
I look back at Steven and wag my brows. “Your daughter is currently living with me.” Anger rears inside him.
“No the fuck she isn’t!” he shouts.
“Let me spell it out for you, old man. The reason your son looks like I just killed his puppy is because the blood on those sheets is from your daughter.” Steven’s eyes widen in contempt.
“That right there is the evidence of me fucking her brains out right before I came here to meet her dear brother and daddy.”
Steven unleashes his fury, draws his gun and points it at me.
Lorenzo calls for his guards, but Cas is right there standing behind him with his own gun pressed into the back of the senator's head. Lorenzo’s men rush into the room.
Unlike my father who has gone soft in his old fucking age, I don’t need men to fight my battles for me.
I handle shit on my own. Masen darts forward and looks between me and his father.
The instant his eyes lock on mine I see it.
Bloodlust.
I purse my lips and nod, maybe the little fucker does have it in him after all.
Steven’s threats are falling on deaf ears as I focus on his son.
Gone are the days of our fathers putting leashes on our necks and keeping us at bay.
A silent understanding passes between me and Masen.
No matter the outcome of tonight, we’re at war.
He knows I won’t stop until I tear his family down.
I just threw the first swing and now he’s ready to come at me.
“After the game,” he says in a deathly calm tone that has me smirking. Steven and Lorenzo both shut their fucking traps as they stare at the both of us.
“I’ll keep to my side,” I answer.
He nods. “I’ll keep my boys in check until after the game,” he declares.
Hunger is swirling in the pit of my gut, as excitement courses through me. This is what I’ve been waiting for.
“What the fuck is going on?” Lorenzo snaps.
Masen and I ignore him as I nod in agreement. “Until then, stay the fuck away from my girl,” I spit, then stalk out of the room, ignoring Lorenzo’s calls for me to get my ass back. Cas and I step out the front door, ready to get the fuck out of there.
“Caspian.” At the sound of Masen calling his name we both stop. I see Cas tense out of the side of my eye. We both slowly turn to face him, he’s got balls coming out here alone, I give him that.
“What?” Cas’s tone is filled with malice.
He looks between the both of us. “Toren is to stay out of this.”
I scoff. “No deal.”
“She had nothing to do with this—”
“She had everything to do with it!” I roar. Cas snaps his arm out in front of me, I hadn’t realized I’d taken a step forward.
“Go back inside, Masen. Toren isn’t your concern anymore. If I was you, I would be more focused on trying to win the game next week before all hell breaks loose.”
My anger is like a balm, it wraps around me and clings to me like a second skin. I hunger for the kill. Looking at that piece of shit and knowing I get to take him down on the ice and off it next week, has me antsy and impatient for the time I finally get to end the cunt.
“Go finish your meeting, Masey boy. I need to get home and remind your sister who the fuck she belongs to.”
