Chapter 8 #3

“I’m on the pill.” He told her that it wouldn’t matter if she was or not; he’d get her with child if she wanted. “Then I’m going to stop taking it. I didn’t like taking it in the first place. One less thing I have to worry about.”

“Good.” He waited for an answer and was surprised when she looked up at him with a sexy grin. “I don’t know if that’s a good one or not. But you look like you’ve just had a special meal and are wanting dessert now. Is that a yes?”

“Yes, I’d like to have children with you, but not this time.

” He understood and told her that. “I want to get to know you better. That doesn’t mean that the next time we ovulate that I won’t change my mind again, but I’d really like to get to know everything there is to know about you.

I love you, but I know nothing about you other than the few things that have come about since we’ve been seeing each other. ”

“I agree. We don’t know a great deal about each other, and I’d like to change that.” He moved around on the couch, and she got up. “Are we done talking?”

“No, but I have to go to the bathroom. I’ve been needing to go for a while now, but I was so comfortable that I didn’t want to move.

I have to go bad now.” They both laughed as she made her way down the hallway.

“I think we should eat something when the cook comes in, too. I don’t want to have to go all day without something in my belly.

Plus, I have to work, and I know you do as well. ”

“I don’t want to go to work.” He heard her laughter all the way down the hallway. Getting up, he used his magic to get dressed for work because he knew he really had to go in. There were people depending on him, and he couldn’t let them down.

He was at work earlier than he’d been in a while.

Getting things put away that had been delivered to his house was easy enough, and then he started on the files for today’s patients.

He only had three before noon, but there were fifteen after lunch.

He knew people hated to get up early for appointments, so he wasn’t bothered by the fact that he was going to have a slow morning.

After lunch with his staff, he decided to clear off his desk.

Between patients, he was able to get most of the paperwork done, and he was happy to know that tomorrow, when he came in, he’d not have to have so much to catch up on.

As soon as he saw the last patient of the day, he was ready to go home and have a wonderful night out with Blake.

He wondered when she was going to see her sister; he’d forgotten to ask, and how that had gone.

Just as he was thinking about reaching out to her, he felt her reach out to him. “I’ve got an appointment to see my sister at four. Will you be able to come with me? Your mom told me that she has a rose garden meeting today and won’t be able to make it.”

“We close up here at four, so I’ll be a few minutes late.

It only takes me a couple of minutes to get to the hospital from here.

” She said that she’d take it. “Good. Afterward, we’ll have dinner someplace.

You be thinking about what kind of food you want, and we’ll go find it.

I’ve been craving comfort food, but that can mean anything that fills me up and gets me sleepy. ” She laughed.

“I’d like comfort too. Maybe we can find something that will satisfy both our cravings.

I don’t know how I’m going to feel after seeing Robin, but I can always eat.

She’s going to be hard on me, I know it, but I feel like I should go and see her while there is someplace that she can not get back at me.

I know that the hospital isn’t the best place for her with her problems, but perhaps she might have learned something while there. Do you think so?”

“I don’t know.” She laughed again, but he could tell it was forced. “She’s pretty hard-headed. Stubborn too. But you never know. She might have had a change of heart about you and me being together while there. I know that she has to see a doctor while in the rooms she’s in.”

They spoke about Robin for a few minutes more, and then she said that she had to go.

He knew that it was going to be hard on her to see her sister, but at least, like she said, it was someplace where she couldn’t harm her.

They would have taken her purse away from her while she was there, and it would be under lock and key.

At ten to four, he was finished. Having the girls who worked for him start to lock up the building, he was ready to go before four.

Being at the hospital right on the nose, he was able to see Blake before she went in for her appointment.

He’d not realized that they would only allow her one visitor at a time, so he had to wait in the lobby for her.

Kissing her on the mouth before she went in, Blake told him that was just the power boost that she needed to face Robin.

He didn’t know what he’d do if one of his brothers were like Robin.

He knew that, for as close as they were, it would be hard to be around them if they were acting like they were sick all the time.

That is what he was assuming. That there was nothing wrong with Robin that a swift kick in the ass wouldn’t cure.

Since he had his laptop with him, he was able to pull up his work and personal email.

There wasn’t much in the way of personal things that he had to take care of, but there were plenty of business.

There was always someone wanting to sell him something or even to use something that they had in stock.

He didn’t always fall for those sorts of things, but he found a couple of items that he thought he might give a shot to.

Anything that he could give to his patients at little to no cost was perfect for him.

At ten after four, just a few minutes after Blake had gone back to see Robin, he heard a loud scream.

Ready to go do battle for his mate, he and his tiger had to wait until someone let him in before he could make sure that she was all right.

Turns out, they wouldn’t allow him in as they were taking care of it themselves.

Christ, he hoped so. He didn’t know what he’d do if something were to happen to Blake.
