Chapter 49 – Meggie

Gazing into her husband’s eyes as he held her in his arms, Meggie wrapped her arms around his neck, singing the words to Meant To Be by Bebe Rexha and Florida Georgia Line. Halfway through All My Life by K-Ci and Jo Jo, he picked her up.

Roxy had introduced Meggie to that song years ago, and she’d loved it ever since.

Above them, the night sky stretched endlessly, dotted with stars that gleamed like diamonds.

Camping lights bathed Christopher and allowed his brilliant green eyes to mesmerize her.

The temperature should’ve had her shivering from the cold.

Instead, heat blazed through her. Because of Christopher, and her love and desire for him.

Out here on the road, with just the two of them, everything else seemed like a distant dream. All the trials and tribulations of the past weeks. Torie. Rule. Jo. CJ. Rebel. Jana. The bikers and their treatment.

“My turn,” Christopher murmured, brushing his lips across hers as the Work Song by Hozier blasted over her MP3 player.

She giggled as he began singing the words to the song, still holding her in his arms and dancing with her. They’d started out with Meggie’s head against Christopher’s chest, then in sync again, they’d looked at each other at the same time.

As Work Song ended, Christopher halted, but then Shania’s You’re Still the One came on.

“My new ringtone for you,” Meggie said softly, picking up the first verse and smiling as he started dancing with her again. She leaned in and kissed him with all the love and tenderness inside her. “I love you so much, Christopher.”

He sipped from her lips. “And I love you, Megan,” he croaked. “You my everything, baby. Above everyfuckinbody and everyfuckinthing. I ain’t able to do nothin’ when you sick or when you hatin’ on me. I’m so fuckin’ sorry for the past weeks.”

“I’m not,” she said quietly. “It’s brought us closer and showed me that no matter what, as long as we have each other, we have everything.”

Instead of talking anymore, they kissed as the song ended. He guided her down onto the blanket, raising the dress she wore until her panties were exposed. Pulling them to the side, he unbuckled his belt, tugged his pants down, and slid into her. They moaned in unison.

“Christopher,” she breathed as he rolled his hips, thrusting slow and hitting deep.

“I’m right here, baby,” he grunted, one hand bracing himself above her, while the other gripped her thigh, hoisting her leg up, allowing him to plow deeper.

When his grip loosened, she wrapped her legs around his waist and snaked her arms around his neck.

Each thrust rocked her body and pulled a moan from her.

It wasn’t long until tension began to build in her core, and when he slipped a hand between their bodies to play with her clit, she came undone.

Moaning his name, she creamed on his big cock, triggering his own orgasm.

He let out a roar of pleasure as he came, shooting his seed into her core.

Rolling off her, he pulled her into his arms, holding her close as they panted.

She looked at the stars, happier than she’d been in a while.

Quickies and hours-long sessions, Meggie adored making love with Christopher.

Her husband was a good lover, and sex was just another way that he showed how much he cherished her.

“How you feel about me walkin’ away from the club, Megan?” Christopher suddenly asked, pulling her back to the present.

It didn’t surprise Meggie that this would come up again.

Christopher was searching for something.

She couldn’t give him what he needed to hear.

That could only come from inside him. She could, however, give him what she always did—her support and advice.

If he questioned his role for the next five years, then she’d stand by him until he decided what to do and adjust accordingly.

“I want what you want. I am your ride or die, whether you’re Outlaw or Christopher, biker, businessman, or homebody. ”

He leaned over and kissed her, briefly and chaste. When they pulled apart, he said, “I love you so fuckin’ much, baby.”

“And I love you, Christopher. I just want you to resign for the right seasons, not because Johnnie is an idiot or because you’re disillusioned by the embers who turned on you.”

At the mention of Johnnie, Christopher tensed.

“It’s a combination of shit,” he admitted with a sigh.

“Mainly, I’m just fuckin’ tired, baby. I been doin’ shit in the club since I was fifteen.

Moved there when I was sixteen. I been enforcer, SAA, secretary, treasurer, Veep, and Prez.

Ain’t nothin’ let for me to do. Maybe they was right to side with Johnnie—”

“No, they weren’t,” Meggie snapped, furious at the men who put such doubts into her brilliant husband’s head.

“They were idiots, plain and simple. But it’s done.

My concern is you. If you can’t wait until elections at the end of the year, when you can choose not to run, I will support you. This is about you, not me.”

Christopher’s brows snapped together. “This is about you, too. What the fuck you mean? You don’t even go to the fuckin’ club no more. That’s fuckin’ with me, too.”

Guilt swarmed Meggie. She didn’t want her actions to influence his, but she had yet to forgive the members for tormenting her when they thought Torie was sleeping with her husband. God, she was a hypocrite. How could she want her husband to overlook their actions when she couldn’t?

“If I started coming to the club sometimes, would you feel differently?”

He shrugged. “I ain’t too sure.”

Sighing, she nuzzled closer to him, deciding that the matter could be put to rest for the night. For now, she’d enjoy his closeness and the rare break they’d been granted.
