CJ
He’d get to Diesel in a minute. Or at home. He snatched Torrin’s hair and jerked his head to the side, punching his fucking jaw. Everyone jumped up.
“Stop it, now, before I punch the fuck out of you.”
“Leave Rebel the fuck alone, you miserable motherfucker,” he screamed, livid that Diesel constantly fucked with his little sister. “You don’t fucking deserve her. Ever.”
“And Kaia, emo boy, deserves her? I’m insulted.”
“Choke on it, motherfucker.”
CJ grabbed a chair and charged toward him, so Diesel picked up one and swung. CJ ducked and batted his, hitting Diesel’s chair and splintering it.
“No wonder Jana searched for drugs,” CJ spat, throwing the broken chair aside. “She needs something to escape you.”
“Come closer and say that, fuckhead.” Diesel planted himself near the bar and raised his fists, legs braced apart. “Jana searched for drugs because she’s a fucking drug addicted whore.”
CJ charged him, managing a decent punch to the side of Diesel’s head before he threw one of his own and clipped CJ’s jaw. “And you’re the sex-addicted fuckhead. Sleeping with a sixteen-year-old.”
“I didn’t sleep with Tommi,” Diesel snapped, sidestepping CJ’s fist and walloping his shoulder. “I made Rebel think I slept with her. She’s wearing that motherfucker’s earrings.”
If Diesel hadn’t jumped back, CJ would’ve flattened his fucking nose. “What the fuck? You’re playing those fucking games over earrings?”
Diesel kicked CJ’s legs out from under him and sent him reeling to the floor, but CJ knew that fucking move because Diesel taught him.
He snatched Diesel’s ankle and dragged that motherfucker down to the ground with him, dodging some hits and punches, throwing a few of his own, scrapping, rolling, and kicking.
Throwing insults and curses, knocking over stools and chairs, one or two tables, unconcerned about the shouts and orders to fucking stop.
Both of them managed to evade those who were brave enough to get in the line of their kicks and punches.
CJ didn’t give a fuck. He’d fucking had it with Diesel. This motherfucker being a motherfucker devastated Rebel. She was still healing from trying to save his drug-addicted whore, whom he insisted on keeping around.
Hands grabbed CJ at the same time Torrin and Narci yanked Diesel away.
“Fuck you, CJ.”
“No, fuck you, Diesel. You even got Axel in on your bullshit. How will that make him feel? I’ll tell you how.
Like he wants to kill you.” Jerking away from whoever, he pointed at Torrin.
“Motherfucker, if you ever look at Rebel wrong, I will fucking kill you. My sister isn’t a motherfucking toy to play with. ”
“He doesn’t take orders from you, CJ,” Diesel said coldly.
“No, he takes orders from you because he doesn’t like fucking living.”
“Monday night I stayed awake all fucking night texting that spoiled brat. Tuesday and Wednesday, she ghosted me.”
“Ghosted you?” CJ echoed, appalled. “Are you touched in the fucking head?”
Diesel ignored him and pointed at Kaia. “Because of him. For him.”
Yeah, Diesel was touched in the head. CJ’s outrage grew. “You’re thirty goddamn years old, upset because my little sister didn’t text you?”
“No, I’m upset for the reason she didn’t text me.
” He thrust his bloody chin toward Kaia.
“Because of emo boy. Rebel has always belonged to me. She’s always been my little sister,” he added for the unenlightened.
They both knew he wasn’t crashing the fuck out because he saw Rebel as his little sister.
“I bought her earrings, too. She hasn’t even fucking thanked me. ”
Potter gave CJ a pack of ice and a cold towel. “Wipe off the blood, then put the ice on the knot on your forehead.” He looked at Diesel while CJ complied with the instructions. “Yours is coming up.”
CJ planned to go to Dad’s table, but the destruction in the clubhouse halted him and he widened his good eye. The other one was swelling shut.
“Must you always be such a fucking hothead, CJ?” Diesel complained.
“When do you ever take accountability for what the fuck you do?” CJ sneered. “You’re as hotheaded as Dad. More so,” he added, thinking of Tabitha.
Yeah, Bash believed whatever story he was fed, but there were people who knew the truth. If he ever got suspicious and asked the right people the right questions, the peace agreement was fucked.
“Why don’t you sit down, CJ?” Potter suggested, handing Diesel an ice pack and cold towel. “I’ll get you some painkillers. You’re going to feel that fight tomorrow.”
He was already starting to feel it. He didn’t care. Defending Rebel was worth every lick he received and every punch he threw.
Like Rebel wanted Mom, he wished Dad was there. Diesel never would’ve fucked with Rebel to the depth that he had. He wouldn’t have tapped Torrin to fuck with her. CJ still didn’t know what that motherfucker told her.
Holding his stomach, he limped to his table and sat, then put the ice pack back to his forehead. “Fia, get the fuck out of here—”
“You can’t talk to her like that.” Of course Narci had to step his bitch ass in. “This isn’t your party.”
Fed up, CJ dug in his pocket then realized his cell phone was gone. He spotted it on the floor but didn’t have the energy to get it. Rory noticed the direction of his gaze and rushed to pick it up, bringing it to him.
“Thanks, Rory,” CJ said, taking the phone. He was exhausted and probably in over his head, but fuck them. That bitch wasn’t staying. He waved the phone in the air. “Either she goes or I’m calling Uncle Mort.” He glared at her with dislike. She’d never learn.
What the fuck was it about Diesel that made her go fucking stupid?
Her lower lip trembled.
“Don’t you fucking cry,” CJ roared. “I’m fucking sick of that bullshit too. You fuck with my sister and then you fucking cry.”
“I didn’t do anything, CJ. My toilet was broken. I swear.”
“I don’t believe you. Diesel probably asked you to call Kaia.”
“He didn’t! I swear.”
Narci swallowed. “If you…if you tell that to Outlaw—”
“Dad will finally kill her,” CJ gritted.
“Which is what the fuck I vote for because I’m sick to death of this fucking girl and how she always fucks with Rebel.
Somehow, she escaped with her life the night of the volleyball game.
You motherfuckers want Fia alive. Keep her in line and the fuck away from Rebel and Kaia. ”
Tears pooling in her eyes, Fia glared at Kaia. “Why’d you tell him you stopped by?”
“Because he’s fucking loyal to my sister, you fucking bitch,” CJ yelled. “Rebel’s been hurt enough by you, by Jana, by Diesel, by Dad, Ryan, Rule, Kaia, Rory…fuck the list is long. She deserves some fucking peace.”
Diesel cursed and started off.
Jumping to his feet, his adrenaline surging again, CJ caught Diesel before he reached the door.
“Don’t you fucking dare torment her again tonight.
” She wasn’t home yet, something Diesel didn’t need to know.
“Leave my sister alone, asshole. Goddamn you, let her be a normal fucking teenager and stop projecting your bullshit onto her. You wouldn’t take Jana shopping, so Rebel volunteered and almost got killed.
She’s traumatized, Diesel. Who gives a fuck if she talks to the man on the fucking moon if that eases her?
You do. Because you’re fucking selfish.”
Clenching his jaw, tumult in his eyes, Diesel remained silent.
CJ needed to get home to shower and calm down. “Now, I have a question for all you assholes after the girls leave.”
Diesel looked to where the four of them hunched by the table against one of the walls. “Go,” he ordered. They hauled ass. “What’s your question, CJ?” He sounded both weary and furious.
“Has anyone in this club seen any fucking videos of Rebel?”
“And lived?” Diesel laughed maniacally and glared at Rory and Ryan. “You aren’t fucking serious.”
Where was Dad when he needed him? CJ didn’t know how to say what was bothering Rebel so much, especially since Diesel had been left in charge and he’d have to talk to her as the fucking ‘adult’.
“Rebel thinks you slept with Tommi and Kaia slept with Fia…” Grant halted and scratched his chin. “She thinks she disgusts you because of the video. She thought she put it to rest. Then tonight happened.”
“Where the fuck would she get that fucking idea?” Diesel demanded, then cursed and zeroed in on Torrin. “What the fuck did you fucking say to her?”
Pursing his lips, CJ squinted at Diesel’s tone, dredged from the depths of hell. Invaded by Satan, he shoved his hands in his trouser pockets. He either had a blade or a shuriken.
Torrin raised his hands. “You told me to keep her here, Diesel,” he said carefully.
Oh, so the motherfucker had both—a blade in one hand and a shuriken in the other. His left hand—his dominant hand.
“How did you talking to her land at her thinking you watched her videos?” Diesel asked mildly, his switch even more chilling because of the fury in his eyes.
“I haven’t seen her videos,” Torrin said, hands still raised. He glanced at CJ. “I wouldn’t disrespect her like that.”
CJ flipped him off.
“What did you say, Torrin?” Diesel asked again. “You’re my best friend, so I’m showing restraint.” He grinned. “But I’m losing fucking patience.”
“She might’ve misunderstood what I said,” Torrin admitted, “but I had to do something to throw her off-kilter, Diesel. That’s what you asked me to do.”
“Fuckhead,” CJ spat.
“Shut up, CJ!” Diesel responded, his hands shaking. “Answer me, Torrin.”
“I told her she thinks she’s special but she’s already shown us her body, Diesel. I thought she’d know I meant her revealing clothes. It never occurred to me she’d think I watched her.”
Growling, Diesel flung the shuriken. It hurtled over the side of Torrin’s face, slicing the skin open. Blood poured down his cheek; he grunted.
“Fuck,” Ryan breathed, his voice trembling.
The blade landed in Torrin’s shoulder. H sucked in a breath.
“One warning, Torrin. That was it,” Diesel announced. “You’re my best friend,” he said again.
“I did tell her that Kaia wouldn’t want to hold her hand forever,” Torrin managed, not trying to staunch the flow of blood running down his face or remove the blade.
“You should’ve told me. I wouldn’t have doubled your punishment.”
“Why don’t we have this conversation elsewhere?” Narci suggested, paler than Torrin as if he hadn’t fucking remembered Diesel’s insanity. “Torrin needs stitching up.”
Diesel nodded and walked to where the shuriken had lodged itself in the wall near the bathrooms. He yanked it out of the wood then nodded to his blade. “When you remove that, clean it and bring it to me.”
“We should check on Rebel, C.” Rory’s voice reached CJ through his shock. “After everything else that’s happened, she’s probably upset over Fia and Kaia.”
“Wait, Rebel knows I went to Fia’s?” Kaia asked, panicked. “I didn’t do anything with her, though.”
“Dude, is that what the fuck you’re getting out of this shit?” Ryan asked incredulously as Torrin followed Huck through the archway. “I think that’s the least of her worries right now. Her perception of herself—”
“Rebel isn’t gross. Even if I’d seen the videos, which I haven’t, she wouldn’t be gross to me,” Kaia said.
“Did Rebel say she hated me, CJ?” Diesel asked warily, throwing the damp towel on the bar.
“Rebel isn’t thinking clearly enough to hate anyone,” CJ said flatly.
“I’ll talk to her.” Diesel righted a bar stool and slid onto it. “Tell her the truth.”
“Please don’t,” CJ said. “Especially not tonight. Let her rest.”
It was his fault she’d had to face Rory again over those videos. If Rory’s presence hadn’t annoyed CJ so much, he would’ve offered a truce and got the fuck out of there. But, no, he’d been a selfish, entitled prick. He glanced around the club again and grimaced.
Fuck. His entire body was aching and he needed to see to Rebel. He didn’t want Diesel near her. Motherfucker should move to the treehouse with his drug addicted fiancée.
Fuckhead.
“CJ, Diesel, go see to your injuries,” Potter instructed. “We’ll see to this. I’ll get a few other brothers out here.”
“Wait a fucking minute,” Narci started. “I shouldn’t have to clean their mess.”
“That’s Outlaw’s sons, dude,” Seven said. “Until he comes back and decides what to do to them, we have to send them home so they can patch up.”
