CHAPTER 8
In his original world, Dylan was just an ordinary student with nothing to his name. He comes from an average-class family and never sought wealth and power. Thus, when he came to this world as a hero to save the world from the demon lord, he felt pressured.
He thought he was already powerful, but his self-esteem shattered upon meeting the two powerful beings and his new master, the silver-red wolf.
With a determined expression, Dylan said, "Master, my reputation doesn't matter to me. What matters is absolute strength. I don't mind worshipping a monster as my master."
Cruella smiled and looked at Dylan with interest. "Well then, you may rise."
"Thank you, master!" Dylan immediately stood up with a smile. He walked closer to Cruella and was mesmerized when he looked closely. Suddenly, Dylan had the urge to rub Cruella's silky fur. Dylan gulped and shivered as he stopped himself from doing something immoral.
Cruella noticed Dylan's strange behavior like he wanted to devour her whole.
She shivered as she was familiar with that kind of expression.
Right now, Dylan had the same expression as Evangeline when the latter wanted to caress her hair before.
She only allowed Evangeline because she was a girl but for a man to act the same was way too much for her.
Immediately, Cruella warned him while blushing, "Stop whatever you're thinking! Pervert!"
Like a deer caught in headlights, Dylan turned around with a beet-red face and a shy smile on his lips. He cleared his throat and changed the topic, "M-Master, when would you teach me?"
Cruella harrumphed. Nevertheless, she said before disappearing, "Tomorrow, at eight in the evening, meet me here."
When Dylan turned back, Cruella was gone in her spot. He went silent for a while and looked up at the moon. "I wonder if the master is a divine beast like a Fenrir?" he murmured. However, his question remained unanswered.
The next day, Cruella, already in her human form, woke up to a pouting Evangeline.
"Where have you been last night?" Evangeline asked first thing in the morning. She went to sleep last night waiting for Cruella to come back.
Cruella yawned and looked at Evangeline with droopy eyes. "Just strolling around outside."
Evangeline looked at her quizzically. She sighed and said, "Fine. Don't tell me anything. Go, take a shower now. We have to go to the guild to take a quest. Let's not idle today."
"Okie-dokie!"
When Cruella entered the bathroom, Evangeline squinted her eyes for she could tell that Cruella was up to something.
'Hm, how could I make Cruella talk? I'm sure she's keeping something from me.'
Evangeline rubbed her chin like a detective solving a case.
A few minutes later, Cruella came out of the bathroom fully dressed. Her attire is not eye-catching but coupled with her stunning figure and silver-red hair, it was hard for someone not to notice her.
Evangeline was even bewitched by her beauty.
Without a word, Cruella creates a huge mirror in the wall looks at her reflection for the first time, and is stunned to utter a word for a while.
"Eve, who is that girl?" Cruella pointed to the mirror in disbelief. The girl in the mirror is so beautiful like a fairy. She also had the same hair as her.
"Hey, who are you? Why do you have the same hair as me?" Cruella continued poking the mirror like a dumb person.
Evangeline watched Cruella like the latter had grown two heads. She didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
In the end, Evangeline burst out laughing and tears escape her eyes from so much laughing.
She hadn't had a good laugh before. Cruella is the first person that made her laugh like that.
Growing up, she always had to act elegantly no matter how funny it was.
However, when it comes to Cruella, Evangeline has no filter.
Cruella furrowed her eyebrows when Evangeline was laughing like crazy. "Eve, do you know this girl?" Cruella asked seriously.
Stifling a laugh, Evangeline finally uttered between fits of laughter, "It's you, dumb-ass!"
Cruella blinked her eyes and tried different poses. When the girl in the mirror poses the same as her, she finally believes Evangeline. The girl in the mirror is her!
She gasped in disbelief. In her previous life, she looked so average that she didn't think she would be beautiful in this life after transforming from a wolf to a human form.
Her eyes sparkled and stared at her reflection intently. She was amazed at her otherworldly looks.
Evangeline stood up and wrapped her arms around Cruella's waist while looking at the mirror with a smile. She planted a kiss on Cruella's cheek and said, "You are the most gorgeous woman I have ever met in my life, Ella."
"You can say that again. I'm still in disbelief at my looks. I didn't expect to be so good-looking!" Cruella touched her face gently with a wide smile.
Evangeline chuckled and said, "Okay. Stop staring at yourself and let's have some breakfast first before going to the guild."
Cruella pouted but nodded nevertheless. In truth, now that she saw her appearance, she won't feel embarrassed anymore being stared at. Now she understood why the people were gawking at her every time she passed by.
Just as Cruella and Evangeline entered the guild, they saw a group of women talking and flirting with a group of men. And these men were the five summoned heroes.
However, everyone's attention was immediately diverted to the newcomers and their eyes lit up.
"Miss Cruella! Miss Evangeline!"
Everyone greeted the duo with smiles. The two beauties were so popular since they defeated a horde of wyverns on their own.
Cruella smiles brightly, winking her eyes, and waves her hand. "Howdy!"
Instantly, everyone felt like their hearts were struck by an arrow. Some were almost drooling.
On the other hand, Evangeline merely smiled. She was aware that the unique charm of Cruella can affect anyone.
At the same time, Dylan felt his heart racing faster at the sight of Cruella. He could only curse silently in his heart. He was really in trouble!
And the other four heroes also couldn't help but suck a deep breath while staring at the two stunning figures.
At this time, the duo directly walked towards the counter.
Irene, the receptionist, smiled widely with enthusiasm upon seeing them. "Hi, Miss Cruella, Miss Evangeline, welcome. How may I help you today?"
"We're here to take a quest. Do you have a quest available in difficulty level?" asked Evangeline.
Irene's eyes lit up and immediately took out a bundle of documents. "These are all in difficulty level for A-Rank above. You can choose anything that interests you."
Cruella and Evangeline quickly examine the documents. There were a lot of quests and the duo took some time to pick one.
Suddenly, a loud yell interrupted everyone.
"Everyone! Emergency!" a man shouts with a terrified expression.
"What happened?" everyone was on high alert sensing that something was wrong.
The man said with bated breath, "A horde of monsters were coming in this direction led by General Alton of the Fourth Demon Army. The estimated numbers are about one hundred thousand!"
"What?!"
"One hundred thousand!"
Everyone gasped.
Dylan and the other heroes were also on high alert. The sudden attack caught them by surprise.
Why did the monsters attack at this moment when they just came to this town? This is not a coincidence at all!
Dylan couldn't help but think that this attack was deliberate.
Are they attacking because of the heroes?
Meanwhile, Cruella remained nonchalant as if the current situation is nothing to do with her.
However, Evangeline's eyes glinted with excitement. It is time to showcase the skills she learned from Cruella!
At the same time, Ronald West came down from the second floor with a serious expression upon hearing the news. It was rather troublesome to face thousands of monsters. Good thing, they had Cruella with them or the result would be disastrous.
He immediately announced, "Everyone, let's prepare and go to the entrance. Don't let those monsters enter the town! Let's eliminate them all!"
"Yeah! Eliminate them all!" the adventurers cheered and brandished their weapons.
Dylan and the other heroes had solemn expressions. It must be the demon lord's doing. This sudden attack means that Demon Lord Azazel was on the move. They also brandished their weapons and followed the others out.
On the other hand, Cruella and Evangeline were the only ones left with Ronald West.
Evangeline looked at Cruella with a puzzled expression when the latter didn't budge at all. "Aren't we coming along as well?"
Cruella leaned closer and whispered, "I will go with my original form. I couldn't use my devouring skill freely if I were to remain in my human form. So you go there first with the guild master."
Ronald West seems to grasp Cruella's plan. "Let's go, Lady Evangeline."
Evangeline nodded and they walked out of the guild together.
Meanwhile, Irene was puzzled when Ronald West and Evangeline walked out of the guild, leaving Cruella behind.
"Miss Cruella, you're not coming along?"
Cruella merely smiled and leaned closer to Irene, which made the latter's face flush red. Then Cruella whispered, "Do you have sweets? Or cookies?"
