Chapter 29
I was incredibly nervous about participating in the rescue operation for Ayaz’s uncle.
Never in my life had I imagined being involved in something so dangerous, but he gave me the confidence I needed to move forward.
I was shaking with fear, but I knew I had to do this to help his uncle and finally be with my son for good.
“Are you afraid?” He came into my room and stood behind me so I could see his reflection in the mirror I was facing.
“It’s not every day I participate in a rescue operation,” I said dryly. “Let alone from the enemy’s side, being used as a bargaining chip.”
“Don’t worry about that,” he said firmly. “Stay close to me the whole time, Eda. I’ll protect you, no matter what happens.”
“Ayaz, I don’t know if I can do this,” I said, my voice trembling as panic threatened to overwhelm me. “I’ve never been in a situation like this. It’s too dangerous.”
“Eda, I understand you’re afraid, but you’re not alone, and I really need you on this mission,” he said with determination. “My uncle is in danger, and you’re the only one who can help us rescue him. I’ll be by your side the whole time. I’ll watch over you. Trust me.”
“I know,” I admitted, my eyes welling with tears. “But I’ve never done anything like this before. I don’t know if I can pull it off. I’m afraid of becoming a burden or putting your lives at risk.”
“You won’t be a burden, Eda.” He caressed my face. “I know you’re stronger than you think—strong enough to overcome your fears and help save my Uncle Zeki. The situation is terrible, but together we’ll get through this. And as a bonus, you’ll finally get to stay close to our son forever.”
“All right, Ayaz.” I swallowed hard. “I’ll do whatever it takes to help you. I’ll do this for Can. But please, keep your promise—stay close to me and protect me if I need it.”
“Of course, Eda,” he said warmly. “As I promised, I’ll be by your side the whole time, facing every challenge that comes. We’ll bring my uncle back home.”
Ayaz’s words comforted me. I squeezed his hand tightly, determined to face the danger by his side.
I was tense and terrified when we set out on the rescue operation for Murat’s father. My heart pounded in my chest, and my mind raced with worries about what we would face. But I wasn’t alone—my son’s father had promised to be by my side, and that gave me strength.
The sun had already set, the city was shrouded in darkness, and a light rain had begun to fall when we finally arrived at the location where Mr. Zeki was being held hostage.
Everything happened so fast. Shots rang out everywhere, and I was trying not to panic.
My baba’s men were armed to the teeth and had no intention of releasing the hostage.
We knew it was a delicate situation and that any mistake could end in tragedy.
With great caution and skill, Ayaz, his team, and I managed to infiltrate the building.
We crept through the dark corridors until we reached the floor where his uncle was being held.
The confrontation began, and the exchange of gunfire was intense.
My son’s father and his men dodged bullets while trying to neutralize the enemy.
The scene could have been straight out of a blockbuster action movie—all adrenaline, courage, and skill from the men of the Yavuz organization. Despite the risks, they didn’t hesitate to act to protect one of their own.
But what surprised me most was myself. In a moment of desperation, when the situation seemed hopeless, I grabbed one of the guns from Ayaz’s hands and fired with deadly precision.
The image of him looking at me with surprise and pride was seared into my mind.
That’s when he discovered I knew how to shoot.
“Wow!” he exclaimed, clearly impressed. “Eda, where did you learn to shoot like that?”
“Why are you so surprised, Ayaz? Given who my father is, it shouldn’t be strange that I know how to defend myself and handle a weapon.”
I knew this wasn’t the time for him to marvel at my newly revealed skills or for us to discuss it, so I just shrugged and let it go. Rescuing Ayaz’s uncle was our priority, and all that mattered was getting him out safely.
Suddenly, a thunderous explosion sent everyone diving to the ground.
Debris flew through the air, and smoke filled the space.
In the chaos, we pushed forward through the thick haze, using the darkness and surprise to our advantage.
Gunshots echoed through the narrow corridor, creating a deafening cacophony.
I fired again with surprising skill, taking down enemies with precise shots.
In a choreographed movement, Ayaz and his team emerged from one side, eliminating opponents one by one. It was an intense battle—a deadly dance between the two largest criminal organizations in the Turkish mafia.
Amid the gunfire, explosions, and fists flying, Ayaz and his men didn’t lose focus. Every movement was calculated, every shot precise. They advanced with determination, aware that time was running out.
Finally, we reached the room where Mr. Zeki was being held. A spectacular explosion blasted the way open, and there was Ayaz’s uncle—disoriented but unharmed.
“Uncle!” He paused for a few seconds to scan the area. “We’re here!”
The reunion between Murat and Zeki was emotional.
Father and son embraced, relieved, and I felt a wave of gratitude seeing Ayaz’s uncle safe and sound.
It was an incredible feeling—saving someone and realizing I was capable of facing my fears.
The danger was still present, but we knew we’d taken a big step toward keeping him safe.
The rescue operation was successful, and we returned to the mansion more than relieved. In the end, we were all safe, and that was all that mattered. I had no idea I could face such dangerous situations, but with my son’s father by my side, I discovered a strength I never knew I had.
“Eda, you were incredible!” he said with affection and respect. “Trusting you was absolutely worth it. Your skills can mean the difference between life and death in situations like this.”
In that moment, I realized that with determination, courage, and support, I could overcome any challenge fate threw at me. And above all, for my son, I was ready to face whatever came.
“I just don’t want to be separated from my son, Ayaz,” I replied gratefully. “And I’ll do whatever it takes to make sure that doesn’t happen.”
The look we exchanged in that moment conveyed not only admiration but also a deeper understanding—I would do anything to protect the one I loved most in the world: Can. And with my skills handling a firearm, we knew I was more prepared than ever to face whatever destiny had in store for me.
