Chapter 12

Marlo “Lo” Wattson

A Couple of Days Later

“Ya ass eat like a grown ass nigga,” I chuckled watching Solana inhale her wings like they were finna disappear.

Solana waved me off instead of replying to me, continuing to devour her wings.

I knew Sammie’s has bomb ass wings but damn.

Solana was eating them bitches like they were her last meal.

Since Monday Solana and I had made it our little thing to go out to get lunch together.

We’d been taking turns on picking where to eat.

Today was supposed to be my turn to pick but Solana had mentioned wanting some wings and I made it happen.

The smile she had on her face when we pulled up to Sammie’s was worth it.

Solana was cool as fuck to chill with. We talked about so much shit over the last few days.

The more I found out about Solana the more I wanted to help her.

She’d been through so much stuff just in the last few years of her life.

She didn’t deserve any of it. I didn’t fuck with that bitch ass nigga that she had a baby with either.

He was lucky he was dead because I would have made sure his ho ass wasn’t breathing the same air as Solana or Sunshyne.

Him and his people weren’t shit but it was all good.

Solana and Sunshyne were going to be good no matter what.

“You don’t understand how much I’ve been wanting these wings. I've been craving them and they taste just like I imagined them. Mmm…” Solana hummed while she did a little dance in her seat. Not even realizing how sexy she looked doin’ that shit.

Ion know what the fuck I was thinking when I said that best friend shit.

This was finna be easier said than done.

Solana was sexy as fuck and her ass made my dick hard effortlessly anytime, we were around each other.

I found my dick getting hard off of small shit like her smiling at me.

What was crazy was that it wasn't even a sexy, seductive smile; it would be a regular smile, and my dick would spring to life like she’d just offered to suck it.

A nigga was fighting an uphill battle, but I respected Solana cause she wasn’t on that type of time with a nigga.

More times than not bitches didn’t give a fuck about me having a girl.

If anything, that made them want me more and do crazy shit to get my attention.

Solana wasn’t like that; she was chill as fuck and didn’t try to much to get a niggas attention.

I fucked with her keeping it real with me.

She told her truths and not just the ones that sounded good.

Solana held herself accountable for her own shortcomings.

You could tell she’d done a lot of self-reflecting during her time alone.

Solana was a rare diamond and whatever nigga she ended up with would be lucky as fuck.

“I can see,” I smirked cooly when I really wanted to return the big ass smile, she was giving me back, but I didn’t want her to get the wrong impression.

“I’m so happy it’s finna be the weekend.” Solana sighed leaving back against her side of the booth. “I swear you need to go find your old secretary and refire her ass. She ain’t did shit but put papers in folders.”

That was another thing, Solana was on her shit when it came to getting our company organized.

She ran a tight ship but in the last month shit had been running a hell of a lot smoother since she started.

Appointments weren’t overlapping; payments were on time and there were a hell of a lot less complaints.

Solana was a blessing forreal and that was why I was finna give her another raise.

I was able to get a clear picture of where my business was coming in short and start working on those areas.

Solana low key didn’t like taking handouts.

She’d say little slick stuff when I did what she felt was too much, but she didn’t understand how much value she’d added in her time at B they had a small run in last week. Ever since then Solana had been giving Mikael hell.

“Talk ya shit cause he ain’t here.”

“Pssst…Ain’t nobody scared of Mikael. Before I forget again, the other day before you came in, I walked in on Rahmeek rummaging through one of the file cabinets. He was acting all suspicious.” Solana had a slight pout on her thick lips.

“Aww, yeah. Imma see what that nigga was on,” I evenly responded.

I was tripping to much off what Solana told me.

Rahmeek was probably looking for something and instead of asking for help cause the nigga is prideful as fuck, he acted blurry.

I was still gonna talk to the nigga and see what he was on.

You could never be too safe. Solana nodded her head in understanding.

She looked like she wanted to say more but she held her tongue.

“Aye Mikael said you ain’t about that life,” I told her showing the message Mikael had texted me on my phone.

Solana cocked her head to the side. “Oh, that’s cute. I don’t know why y’all think I won’t say it to his face. Let’s go so I can cuss him out since you tryna play like you don’t know my tongue is lethal.”

I could see her mouth moving but my ears stopped working as I watched Solana rise to her feet in what looked like slow motion to me.

The way Solana dressed made me want to tear the clothes off her body and fuck the shit out of her.

Not cause she dressed like a ho, but she dressed like a grown ass woman on her shit.

Today she wore high waisted, Black wide, leg dress pants that fit her big pear shaped ass like a second skin.

A white short sleeved, collared shirt with a small v-cup that dipped to the top of her breast. A wide Black belt with a gold square belt buckle.

Gold bangles on each of her arms, her Black pumps hidden under her pants legs.

My mouth watered as I stared at Solana’s sexy ass.

“Hellooo,” Solana snapped her fingers waving them in my face breaking my lustful thoughts of all the shit I wanted to do to her.

“Aww shit my bad. Let’s go.” I shook myself from the trance that she had me in.

I let Solana walk ahead of me and I followed behind her, willing myself not to watch the rising and falling of her ass cheeks. Fuck, Solana was lucky I already had a girl, or I would have been all over her ass like white on rice. She wouldn’t have been able to get away from a nigga.

“Next time I’m paying, and I don’t care what you say,” Solana sassily joked as I held the door to B&B open for her to walk in.

The car ride back wasn’t eventful, just ideal conversations between the two of us. I had to fight the weirdest feeling in the world off. I found myself thinking I was finna miss spending time with Solana, but I had to be tripping cause there was no way she had me missing her already.

“You not payin’ fa’ shit. Go on with that dumb ass…” I stopped talking when I noticed all eyes were on us.

By all eyes I meant Mikael and Fallon and I thought it was weird how close the two of them were standing.

Mikael had his back leaned against the main counter area that separated our desk from the rest of the office.

Fallon was leaning in this nigga’s face like she was about to kiss him.

If I didn’t trust my brother as much as I, did I would have thought something was going on between the two of them.

Mikael and Fallon shared a look, and he gave her a taunting smirk.

Then she turned her eyes on me they quickly filled with rage as her eyes darted from Solana, then back to me.

“I know this isn’t that same poor bitch from the store a few months back?” Fallon squinted her eyes looking at Solana. I heard the sharp breath Solana took and her body tensed up.

“My name is Solana and I’ve never been poor baby girl. Down on my luck maybe but poor never.” Solana calmly responded to Fallon, who continued to shoot daggers at Solana with her eyes.

“Bitch, I don’t care what ya name is when you walk in here cackling with my fiancé like that shit is okay.” Fallon said, turning all the way around with her belly protruding.

“Watch ya mouth Fallon,” The only reason I was checking Fallon was because she was coming at Solana sideways when she had no reason to.

I was her nigga if she had an issue, she shouldn’t have come at me reckless.

“Solana works here and she ain’t on no bullshit.

You can chill with the disrespectful shit. ”

“Disrespect? You can’t be serious. Nigga let me walk in here laughing with another nigga and see how you fucking react.” Fallon yelled, getting herself worked up for no reason.
