Chapter 19 #3

“Well from what we are being told you’re living out of a vehicle, and you leave her unattended in the vehicle while you work overnights.

I’m quite sure you can understand what’s wrong with that situation and how that would make you unfit.

You seem smart enough to comprehend that,” Dallas condescendingly said to Solana as she scanned her from head to toe.

This bitch wasn’t giving off professional; she was acting like she had an underlying issue with Solana.

“As you can see, I don’t work overnights and I don’t leave her anywhere. As long as we have a roof over our heads it doesn’t matter where we live,” Solana gritted out glaring evilly at Dallas.

“I can’t see anything beside you being in a strange man’s face while there is no sign of Sunshyne,” Dallas nastily said and I couldn’t hold my tongue anymore.

“How the fuck is you a case worker, but you don’t know Sunshyne is at school right now?” I barked at the bitch ready to take her head off. She was doing a lot of talking and not enough working.

“Excuse me, who are you?” Dallas put on a shocked face.

“Shit, you know everything why don’t you tell me who I am.” I said grilling her.

“I don’t think you have anything to do with this matter, Sir.”

“Anything that’s gotta do with Solana or Sunshyne I’m involved in. So let me ask you this, Do you know Solana?”

“No, today is the first day I met her,” Dallas answered sounding confused,

“Then act like it. You taking shot and shit like you know her personally. Come do ya little fake ass assignment so you can be on ya fucking way.”

“I, uh, I’m going to need to see the place you and Sunshyne are living and proof of where you work.” Dallas was flustered stumbling over her words.

“We-”

I cut Solana off. “We gone set up a date when you can come by to see her house and all that other shit. Matter give me ya info I’m gone have my lawyer call you to set all of that up.”

“I suppose that will work for now.” Dollars glared at me like I ruined her evil plans. Then she turned her attention back to Solana. “Please make sure your lawyer is in contact with me by the end of the day. I would hate to have to come back up here.”

“The feelings are mutual; trust me he’ll be in contact.” I answered for Solana and Dallas rolled her eyes storming off towards her old ass Benz she was driving.

Solana and I watched as Dallas skirted out of the parking lot and down the street.

“Fuck!” Solana groaned, smacking her hands across her face. “What am I going to do? It’s going to take at least another month for me to be able to move in a house.”

“I got a place y’all can stay,”

“Absolutely not. You’ve done more than enough for me. I can figure this out on my own. I might have to go stay with my mom for a few months. Ugh, this is bullshit,” I wanted to laugh at Solana. She kicked the gravel looking like a little ass kid.

“Girl shut ya dramatic ass up. I gotta place y’all can stay. Save all that rah-rah shit cause a nigga ain’t finna listen to it.”

Way back when I was finna leave Fallon I had gotten me a crib to live in.

I didn’t see myself uprooting Fallon and our girls cause I didn’t want to be with her.

So, I bought me a spacious three-bedroom townhouse with an attached grudge, fenced in backyard.

It was what I thought I was gonna need at the time.

I had toyed with the idea of selling it, but something kept telling me to hold onto it. I was glad I listened to my gut.

“Marlooo,” She whined, poking her lips out while folding her arms across her chest.

“Say my name like that again Imma give you a reason to moan my name forreal,” I cut my eyes at Solana letting her know I was dead serious. She was moaning my name like I wasn’t gone be turned on by that shit.

Bashfully Solana looked down to the ground twiddling her fingers. “Why are you so nice to me?” She said shyly looking up at me.

“Ain’t that what best friends do fo’ each other?”

“We just became best friends. That doesn’t explain why you’ve been helping me since we first met.”

“Cause I want to,” I said, pulling her into my arms. Snaking my arms around her waist I pulled her into a hug.

“That’s not an answer Marlo,” She grumpily said but she hugged me back burying her face in my chest.

“Well, that’s the best answer you gone get from me so take it.” I said then dug my head in the crock of her neck, inhaling her scent.

“You so aggy. But I’m glad I met you.”

“You love me shut up. I’m the best nigga you ever met,” I snicked squeezing her tightly making her hug deeper.

“Just a little bit. Not too much. Ya head is big enough as is.” Solana said resting her head on my chest while I ran my hands up and down her back.

“My nigga ain’t you supposed to hype ya bestie up or whatever the fuck they be sayin’?” I joked, making her let out a soft giggle.

“You fried, I swear.” Solana said followed by a deep sigh. “I’m ready for all this to be over. I can’t believe somebody real called fucking children services on me.”

“Fuck them they some fucking bum ass cowards. As long as we know what it is. You a dope ass mom. The way you love on Sunshyne muthafuckas would be lucky to call you they mama. Shit, I wish my seeds had you as a mama cause you one of a kind. You do the mommy shit even when you had the world stacked against you. Can’t nobody take that from you?

We gone take care of this shit and keep shittin’ on all them bitches.

” I used her chin to lift her face towards me as I said, “You heard me?”

The way Solana smiled at me made my heartbeat so fast I heard it thumping in my ears. Solana was fucking me up and at this point I wanted her to. I didn’t think I could do the rest of my life without Solana.

“Yeah, I hear you Marlo.”

It took everything in me not to kiss Solana. Everything in me was screaming for me to cover her lips with mine. But I didn’t because I knew if I did I wouldn’t be able to stop myself. For now, I’d had to settle for daydreaming about her.
