Epilogue

“Zayden is so damn cute,” Yanna cooed while holding Zayden in her arms. “I can’t wait until this little girl gets ready to come out.” She giggled as she placed Zayden back in his car seat next to Zaylee.

“Me too! I can’t wait to see my niecey pooh. Hopefully, she looks like you cause at this point I’m convinced you let an ugly nigga knock you up and you’re embarrassed by him,” Zaylee snickered and I couldn’t help the giggle that slipped from my lips.

Yanna still hadn’t told us who her daughter’s dad was. A few months she decided she wasn’t going to tell whoever the nigga was. She said something about not wanting to deal with drama. Whatever the hell that meant.

“Fuck both you hos. My daughter has no choice but to come out beautiful,” Yanna flipped us off as she rubbed her big round belly.

“Aww Tete Yanna, you not supposed to do that. My Unky said that’s bad,” Sunshyne dramatically said from her seat next to me.

Since our friendship formed, we tried to hang out once or twice a month with no men or kids allowed.

Just to have girl time and catch up with each other.

The no kids thing became null and void once Zaylee had Zayden.

To Mikael’s dismay their son was a mama’s boy.

Everywhere Zaylee went her son did too. Mikael swore he needed another go round cause Zayden came out defeated.

Of course he was talking out the side of his neck.

Zaylee already said she wasn’t have another baby anytime soon.

She hated being pregnant and as much as she loved Zayden she didn’t want to have another baby.

I agreed with Zaylee a thousand percent.

After having Zacharia I was good. He just made two months old, and I felt like I was going crazy.

Between him and the girls there was hardly ever any peace in the house.

If Zacharia wasn’t crying something was wrong with one of the girls.

I was getting used to the hustle and bustle of our busy household.

I loved everyone in our house but there would be no new additions for years to come.

Unlike Zaylee who took Zayden everywhere with her, I left Zacharia with his daddy.

He wanted him he could watch him. Don’t get me wrong, I love my baby boy.

He was the happiest silliest baby in the world but my time outside the house was just that.

Sunshyne was with me because she was going to spend the weekend with Yaro and his daughter.

However, Niko had to pick her up for him because Yaro had to do something.

I didn’t ask questions all I knew was I was getting a break from one of my kids.

Sunshyne had become a little needy since Zacharia was born.

I was hoping this was a phase because she was driving me nuts.

As much as I loved my baby girl, I couldn’t wait for her to spend the weekend with Yaro.

One thing about Sunshyne she loved all five of her Unkies.

You never knew which one she was talking about when she used the word Unky.

Her ass switched up real fast when any of them came around.

Including Mikael’s petty self. He didn’t like the fact that she’d given her other uncles the title as Unky, especially not Yaro.

Them two stayed trying to make the other jealous when it came to their relationship with Sunshyne.

If one bought her a toy the other would buy three and it would never stop.

I swear they were just alike that’s why they were always beefing with each other.

I paid them no mind once they got started most of the time, I ended up donating half the stuff they bought Sunshyne anyways.

“Well tell you’re Unky I’m grown and I can flip my haters off if I want,” Yanna teased Sunshyne.

“I’m not telling him that! You tell him,” Sunshyne pointed behind Yanna and Zaylee at Niko walking up.

“Unkkyyyy!” Sunshyne excitedly yelled crawling over my lap and up into Niko’s awaiting arms.

“Sup, boo” He smoothly said with a smirk tugging at the corner of his lips.

“Unky, my Tete Yanna said she can use this finger,” Sunshyne stuck up her middle finger. Her ass wasn’t slick she was using this moment to be able to stick up her middle finger. “Cause her grown.”

I expected Yanna to say something smart because she always had something smart to say but there was nothing.

I looked over in her direction and she looked pale.

Yanna had similar rich mahogany skin like Zaylee.

Normally she had a warm red undertones to her skin and now she was looking pale as a ghost had me worried.

“Yanna are you okay,” I asked stealing a glance at Zaylee who looked just as concerned as me.

“Do you need to go to the hospital?” Zaylee asked, placing her hand on Yanna’s protruding belly.

Niko kissed his teeth and I looked up at him; he had fire in his gaze that was locked onto Yanna.

“Awh yeah, Yanna that’s how you moving’?” Niko answered in a cold tone.

“Niko, I was gonna tell you.” Yanna said in a faint voice as she dwindled her fingers on the table.

“What was you gone tell me? You back fuckin’ with that nigga?”

“What? No, I would never,” Yanna said looking up with her lips turned up in a frown and her eyes locked onto Niko.

“Sunshyne I gotta talk to ya Tete Yanna real quick. Chill with ya mama for a second.” Niko told Sunshyne sitting her next to me in the booth. “Come on, I’m really trying to do this the civil way cause a nigga feel like you playin’ with my mental right now.”

“Let me up,” Yanna meekly said to Zaylee who looked at her like she was crazy.

“No, I don’t know this nigga, and I don’t like his energy either. He ain’t finna do nothing to you let me call Mi-”

“No shit, she carrying my fuckin’ baby. The fuck Imma put my hands on her for. Ain’t nan nigga finna come between me and mine. Call whatever nigga you want just know he leaving in a coffin.” Niko shot Zaylee a dirty look and she rolled her eyes scoffing at him.

“Zaylee chill. Imma be fine. I need to talk to him anyways.” Yanna said. Zaylee hesitated like she didn’t want to get up but she slowly slid Zayden’s car seat out the way then moved so Yanna could get out.

Niko grabbed Yanna’s hand and pulled her toward the front of the restaurant. Once they were out of ear shot Zaylee looked over at me with a smirk.

“At least we know her baby daddy ain’t ugly.” She said and we busted out laughing.

I guess Yanna’s secrets were out of the bag, and it was time she owned up to her skeletons.

“This some bullshit,” Mikael huffed plopping down next to me on the couch.

He had a frown on his face that matched Zayden’s as he whimpered in Mikael’s arms. “How my son don’t like me? You see how Zachari is with Lo? That’s how you supposed to be with me!” He said talking to Zayden as he held him out in front of him.

Zayden loved giving Mikael the blues. Honestly at this point I think he did it just to mess with Mikael.

As soon as Mikeal would put him down when Zayden would fry, he’d be all smiles and if Mikael tried to pick him up again, he’d go back to fake crying.

Normally I’d intervene but today mama needed a break.

Zayden started to brush teeth, and he was crankier than normal.

It was time Mikael had to deal with him crying.

It was crazy how Zayden had Mikael’s entire face on his.

He didn’t even inherit my skin complexion.

He was Mikael’s twin through and through.

But I loved my baby boy how he was and to think Lamelle’s deranged ass tried to kill me.

Don’t get me wrong, I am the shit. The baddest bitch on this side of Beaumont if you asked me.

However, I wasn’t shit to be obsessing and trying to kill because I don’t want you.

To go as far as getting my cousin pregnant then making her dress and act like me.

That was mind blowing to me and to this day I couldn’t wrap my mind around it.

Even Lamelle’s ex Tasha wasn’t enough for me to comprehend how crazy he was.

That nigga really had a whole shrine of me in his fucking house.

A bitch was bad but damn, there was too much pussy out there to be losing your mind over some you’d never had.

I can admit I rested easy knowing Lamelle was no longer on this earth.

Granted I could have gone without seeing him be killed but it needed to happen.

From the looks of Lamelle’s phone and house he wasn’t going to leave me alone anytime soon.

If there was anyone crazier than Lamelle it was Malika.

She hated me even more now and she swore I got Lamelle killed because he didn’t want me anymore.

I ignored her because nobody believed anything she was saying.

Whatever niggas Mikael knew made Lamelle’s murder look like he killed himself with a letter and all.

I didn’t question anything, I was happy knowing my family would be safe without Lamelle being here.

“You shouldn’t be so mean all the time and he probably wouldn’t have come out mean!” I told him trying to hold on to my laughter at his aggravation.

“No fuck that, I want a do over. It’s been four months. We can try for another baby now.”

“Nigga are you okay? I’m not having another baby anytime soon. That little boy took me through it the last three months. I’ll pass,”

I meant that Zayden kicked my ass once I got to the eight month mark all I did was throw up and cry. I didn’t feel like going through that again and Zayden was clingy as hell too. He'd probably beat the new baby up if we had one.

“Bullshit! The Bible says a woman has to do whatever her husband tells her to do.”

“That’s not what the Bible says,” I giggled as I watched Mikael struggling to keep Zayden from whimpering. “And two…”
