15. Camden #2
“Ah, I see. No biggie. You aren’t quite ready. I’m sure Luke understood. You just aren’t that attracted to him.” That earned Tyler a few pairs of briefs thrown his way.
“Easy, tiger. You want to put the clothes on. Not throw them at bestie and boyfriend,” I said.
“Well when you say boyfriend looking like that, how can I argue?"
Luke finally decided. He grabbed a fitted, black, silky v-neck and slipped a pair of red AC briefs on, before pulling up some gray slacks and sliding into a shiny pair of black leather shoes.
“I’m ready!”
“Good. I’ll text the twins.”
It was a cool evening, so we decided to walk to Alibi. It was a half mile from the village, in the heart of downtown, close to the river. I heard Tyler say ‘shit,’ before I could see what the problem was.
“What’s wrong?” I asked, and then I saw the huge line outside of Alibi. “Oh, damn.”
“No worries, boys,” Luke said with a confident smile. He led us to the bouncer at the front of the line, leaned in to whisper in his ear. The bouncer checked his clipboard and let us in. Seriously?
Grant asked before I could. “What just happened?”
“I figured there would be a line. It’s a Friday and the Olympics just started. It's like this in New York all the time. I called ahead and got us on the list.”
“When?” I asked.
“While we were on our way. You were distracted by Tyler’s antics and your…” He glanced down at my bulge.
“Oh.” I blushed. “Right.” And it was hard again.
“Let’s go, boys. What are we doing first?” Tyler asked.
“I got us a booth. Let’s go sit down for a bit and take everything in.”
“You got us a booth, too?!” Graham asked.
“It’s the least my parents can do for us,” Luke said.
I couldn’t tell if he sounded bitter, sad, angry or all of the above.
I leaned in and whispered, “Thank you. That’s really nice of you to take care of us.”
“Don’t mention it. It’ll be nice to have fun.”
Our “booth” turned out to be a VIP alcove overlooking the dance floor.
There was extra security up here too, so if someone recognized us, they wouldn’t be a problem.
I had to wonder who was in the other alcoves.
Tyler interrupted my curiosity. “Okay, so I know I said no alcohol, but we each need one drink to loosen up.”
“Sounds reasonable, Ty,” Graham said.
“No one saw this coming,” Grant agreed, rolling his eyes.
Luke laughed and grabbed the fancy menu in the middle of the table.
I leaned in to look with him. “I’ll have something fruity.”
“Good thing I’m right here,” Luke said.
“Good thing.”
I looked up and saw Graham whispering something to Tyler. Tyler had a guilty look on his face. Shit, we were too obvious. I scooted away from Luke just a little.
The server came and took our drink order.
The alcove was nice. We could actually hear each other from across the table over the thumpa thumpa of the dance music from down below.
The dance floor was massive. There was a DJ onstage at one end, and a bar on each side.
Even with the strobes and colorful lights, it was dark enough that you could barely see the writhing bodies below.
“Looks fun,” Luke said, seeing where my attention was.
“You dance?” I asked.
“Of course. Haven’t you seen my rhythmic gymnastics routine?”
The server came with our drinks. Luke and I both got colorful drinks with fruit and teeny umbrellas. It looked like the other guys adulted.
“Cheers, boys!” Tyler raised his glass. We all followed suit.
“What did you get, Tyler?” I asked.
“Rum and coke.”
The twins answered, knowing I was curious. “Gin and tonic.”
“Black Russian.”
“Those all sound too strong for me,” I said, sucking on my alcohol-infused pineapple chunk.
“Is this one of those ‘What your drink says about you’ online quizzes?” Graham asked.
“Well, if it is, it clearly tells me that Cam and I are interesting, and you guys are boring.”
“Hm-mmm. That is definitely what it says,” Tyler said.
Something about Grant and Graham staring at us made me slightly uncomfortable.
Oh good lord. Can’t we keep a secret for twenty-four hours? I haven’t even told Erika yet. Speaking of…
Cam: I hope you’re not sleeping, but I’ve got news.
Erika: Nope, just settling in with some reading to distract me from tomorrow. Ugh. What’s up?
Cam: Still not sure how it happened, but Luke and I are now officially boyfriends and we are going to see what happens after the Olympics.
Erika: WHAT!?!? That’s awesome!!!!!
Cam: <3 I know. I’m so happy.
Erika: Well, I’m impressed. Secret crush to dating in a few days. You boys have it so easy!
Cam: Huh, we’ll see about that. Sleep tight. We’ll be there tomorrow, with bells on.
Erika: Night, Cam.
Cam: xoxo
Erika: <3
The guys were finishing their drinks. I had to catch up, fast.
“Ready to dance, boys?” Tyler asked, sliding out of the booth.
“You going to stick with us, or find some ho?” Luke retorted.
“If you must know, I will not be looking for a ho, but a nice respectable young woman.”
“To grind on?” I asked.
“Well, yeah. Listen to the music!” Tyler said, with a big smile, thrusting his hips a little.
“How about you two?” Luke asked the twins. “Are you going to play mind games with someone?”
