Chapter Twenty Nine Dragna
Chapter Twenty Nine
Dragna
“Just leave her be Lev.” I take a long drink of my whiskey hoping Lev calms the fuck down.
“Leave her be? She’s doing this on purpose.” He shouts, pointing at the computer screens showing security camera feeds of Alina dancing with a random guy.
What was supposed to be Alina giving clothes to Mikhail for Willow turned into her getting into Mikhail’s car when he was leaving and arriving at the club with Mikhail.
“Why else would she come here and do this when she knows I’m going to fucking see her!” He roars back at me and I grab him by the back of his neck and push him against the wall.
“Let Willow handle it. I won’t have you causing more trouble because you can’t get a grip on your fucking emotions.
I’ve told you countless times already that I gave you this position because I thought you could handle it and so far in most of our meetings you’ve let your anger get the better of you. ”
I can’t help my own anger right now and being completely honest, if it was Willow down there parading herself around in front of me I’d have shot the guy she was dancing with in the middle of the crowd. But that’s not the point.
“And why did I lose my temper D? Because those meetings had the fucking Italian scum there. Nero, who was dancing with Alina and who played part in drugging Willow might I fucking remind you. Then her father’s own men would have tried to attack her if he hadn’t called them off when she stood up to him. Everything comes down to her.”
He tries to shove against my hold.
“I fucking need her D. You don’t understand.”
He shoves hard against me again and this time I let him go. He spat those words at me and I can see how angry and in turmoil he is over this.
“I can’t leave her be Dragna. I can’t.” He says while pacing back and forth scrubbing his hands over his head.
“You can and you will, and that’s a fucking order Lev. If you disobey me, I’ll step in as your fucking Pakhan. Do not make me have to do that.”
He looks at me like I’ve lost my mind, not even realising it’s him who’s losing it.
“An order.” He scoffs in disbelief.
“You’re giving me this as an order? Fuck you Dragna.
” He spits on the floor at my feet and storms out of my office and a minute later I hear the lounge door slamming shut.
I turn back to the computer screens to watch the cameras on Willow and Alina hoping Lev isn’t stupid enough to make his way to them.
I’ll deal with him tomorrow when I have more fucking patience.
Willow has managed to escort a highly intoxicated Alina away from the guy she was dancing with and I watch them as each camera picks them up and they make their way upstairs to the booth’s. I grab my whiskey and decide to join them to find out what the hell is going on.

“So am I barred just because Lev owns the place then?” Alina slurs her words at me as she knocks back another shot.
She can barely keep her eyes open and every two words she says has a hiccup between them. I take the next shot out of her hand before she has a chance to down it and ends up dying of alcohol poisoning. The last thing I’d need to happen in my club tonight.
“No, you’re not barred, but surely you knew you’d provoke him by turning up here?”
“Ughh let a girl fucking live.” She says as she narrows her drunken eyes at me.
“You’re tormenting him. If you don’t want to be with him, fine, that’s your call, but making him suffer like this is a shit move. Just stay away from him and keep the drama out of my club.”
I know I’m being harsh, but I can’t have Lev falling apart as my Sovetnik.
“Ohh relationship advice from you? Funny. Tell me Dragna, when are you telling Willow the truth?” She says a little too loudly for my liking and I pin her with a look that says don’t start this bullshit now just as Willow makes her way back up the stairs with her friends in tow.
She called them to come pick Alina up and take her home and I couldn’t be more grateful that they have arrived as quick as they did.
“Girlssssss! I knew you’d come join me for a good time!
” Alina shouts and she springs up from the booth, falling over herself while trying to make her way out to the girls.
I grab her and steady her before she ends up on the floor.
She tries to fight me for about thirty seconds before all but passing out in my arms. What has my life become?
“Ella’s boyfriend is outside in his car. He’s going to take all the girls back to our place. Can you bring her downstairs for us please?”
Willow strokes some of Alina’s hair from her forehead before bending down and grabbing her bag and shoes.
“Nice to finally meet you.” One of the three girls says while putting their coat over Alina to cover her up.
“I’m Mia, this is Ella and Gigi.”
I tip my head to them all before looking down at an unconscious Alina.
“If only it was under better circumstances.” I say gruffly as we all make our way downstairs.
We get outside and Ella points to her boyfriend’s car but just as we step foot on the road, two cars come screeching around the corner and stop directly behind where we’re walking.
I grind my jaw because I know these fucking cars and I already know it’s Lev who made the call.
Three Italian men jump out from the first car and one of them opens the door for none other than Marco and as Marco steps out, Ella’s boyfriend jumps out from his car and makes his way to us.
“What’s going on babe?” He says with an accent as he steps in front of Ella, guarding her as Marco approaches.
“I have no idea.” She responds and everyone watches as Marco continues to talk in our direction.
“Let’s get Alina in the car.” Willow says as she puts her hand on my arm to pull me in the direction of Tommy’s car.
“Is that my daughter in your arms?” Marco’s voice suddenly booms between him and us.
All the girls stop dead.
I shake my head subtly towards Marco hoping he gets the fucking signal not to do this here, in front of everyone.
Not only because I would have to explain everything to Willow, but because Alina wouldn’t want this.
She told me in confidence she didn’t want anyone knowing about her dad when she thought he was an oil tycoon let alone now when he’s actually the Don.
“Who the hell are you?” Willow shouts back at him.
“Get back inside the club Willow, I’ll get rid of them.” I turn around to Tommy, telling him to take Alina and put her in the car safely. Once she’s out of my arms I walk towards Marco as calmly as I can, taking a soothing inhale, holding it in and letting it go.
I can’t shoot him.
I can’t shoot him.
I can’t shoot him.
I repeat the words over and over in my head and just as I’m about to speak, a flash of dark hair storms past me right up to Marco.
“You actually are her dad aren’t you? She looks just like you.” Willow says angrily.
“Do you have any idea what you’ve put her through all these years?”
She stands solid as a rock in front of him, head held high, hands on her hips and if it were anyone else apart from Marco, I’d be so fucking proud of her for standing up to this asshole for her friend.
Fuck I am still proud of her, but there’s too many repercussions for letting her continue speaking to Marco like this so I have no choice to step in.
“Moya dusha, just go make sure Alina is okay.” I try to gently push her behind me to walk away but she shrugs me off.
“No. I’ve waited years to finally meet you and give you a piece of my mind.” She points in Marco’s face and his men step closer.
Blyat’.
This cannot be fucking happening right now and to make matters worse, seeing Willow in Marco’s face like a badass is making me hard. Get a fucking grip Dragna.
Just as I push Willow behind me protectively again, Marco speaks.
“It’s nice to finally meet you Willow.” He says with a grimy smirk on his face. He looks from her to me, then back to her again and his smile grows wider.
Hearing her name spoken from his mouth has bile rising up my throat.
This is exactly why I didn’t want Willow involved in my life. She becomes a fucking target. The only saving grace is I can’t imagine Marco doing anything to harm his only daughter’s best friend.
Willow steps from behind me again and I send up a silent prayer that Marco just takes whatever she says on the chin.
“It’s nice to finally meet me? When your daughter is passed out drunk in the back of a car needing to be taken home? Are you high?”
I close my eyes and breathe.
“Alright Willow let’s go.” I pick her up and throw her over my shoulder while Marco’s laughter begins filling the air.
“What the hell are you doing?” She shouts at me, punching me in the back and kicking her feet. I walk us to an alleyway facing Tommy’s car and set her down, caging her against the wall with my arms.
“Listen to me. You have no idea who Alina’s dad is, or what those men with him are capable of. You’re stupidly putting yourself in danger.”
She folds her arms over her chest and scowls at me giving me her best ‘if looks could kill’ hard stare. If I wasn’t so angry right now I’d tell her how hot she looks.
“Stupidly putting myself in danger? He’s a rich oil guy and his security are hardly going to tackle me to the ground in public with a crowd.” She scoffs.
“And Alina is my best friend. She hates her dad with a passion Dragna, therefore, I hate him with every part of me too. He deserves a punch to his stupid face.”
She really is so innocent and it’s killing me having to play along with what she thinks is going on.
“Alright Rocky, calm down.”
That pulls a slight laugh from her.
“Go back inside the club and wait for me in the lounge. I’ll get rid of him okay?”
She chews bottom lip and thinks before finally nodding.
“Fine.” She mumbles with defiance clear still in her tone.
“Come on, go. Ivans at the front door, he’s already watching and he’ll make sure you get up safely. I won’t be long.”
I watch her as she walks across the street to Ivan and it’s only when they disappear inside the club that I turn and walk towards an awaiting Marco.
“What the fuck do you think you’re doing here?” I snarl at him.
“Ah ah Dragna. That’s a big crowd outside your club. Wouldn’t want to draw unnecessary attention to us now would you?” He says with a smirk.
“You’re the one pulling up unannounced and shouting about your daughter. So again, what the fuck do you think you’re doing here?” I say, inching closer to him.
He backs up and sighs while looking around at his men.
“We received a call Alina was here. Drunk, and on her own too. Great friends my daughter has surrounded herself with by the sounds of it.”
“She turned up already out of her mind and it’s those friends who came to get her to take her home safely and who will look after her. You’re not taking her Marco.”
He looks at me for a few seconds and I know he’s debating sending his men to grab her from Tommy’s car.
“Don’t even think about it. You go anywhere near that car and our deal ends.”
He looks taken back by my statement.
“You’d give up profits like that for my daughter?” He questions.
“No… You’d give up profits like that for your little girlfriend. By protecting my daughter, you look good to Willow. You’re no better a man than you claim I am Dragna. Using women as pawns. Using my daughter as a pawn.”
He’s wrong. What started out as looking out for Alina because she was Willows friend has grown into genuinely wanting to make things up to her for being part of her life falling apart and if protecting her from her own father can do that, then I’m happy to take the fall out.
“Whatever way you want to look at it doesn’t matter. Walk away now or I stop the shipments. It’s your call.”
Marco grinds his jaw, his face going slightly red.
“Bastardo.” He grits at me and he turns, walking back to his car with furious steps choosing profits over his own daughter like the scum he is.
I wait until they have driven off before checking on the girls and Alina. I tap the drivers window and Tommy rolls it down.
“Alright man, wha—“
I stop him mid sentence by throwing my hand up to silence him, ignoring the hand he’s stretched out for me to shake.
“There’s security at the apartment. I know exactly how long it takes down to the last millisecond to get back there from here. If you’re so much as sixty seconds over that time, I’ll know. Get the girls back safely then leave.”
I turn and walk away before he can reply. Time to find out where the hell Lev is and sort out this clusterfuck he’s created.
