DANTE

Hearing Rose’s breathing even out, I can tell that she has finally fallen asleep.

I know she will be furious when she wakes up and finds me in her loft, but it’s safer than just monitoring her through the cameras I have set up.

This way, if someone tries to come for her tonight, I will be here to stop them.

I plan to never sleep again until I know she is safe.

I don’t think she actually grasps the severity of the danger she is in until she is fully under the protection of the Nicoletti family… her family.

I’m sure Angelo hoped for a slightly different meeting with his granddaughter, but unfortunately, things did not go to plan.

I had wanted to tell her everything in private at my house, over dinner perhaps, and then give her the option of meeting Angelo or going on the run with me.

Because those are really her only two options at this point.

We can talk more in the morning, but for now, I will let her rest. She is going to need it with everything to come.

After sending off a quick text to Angelo to let him know I’m with Rose, I get comfortable on the couch and close my eyes. I don’t plan on sleeping, but I need to at least rest my body and mind, so I have the strength to take on the battle I’m sure will come in the morning.
