Chapter 3

Chapter Three

Angel

Taking my place at the table, I lean back in my chair and wait for church to begin.

After the party yesterday, all I want to do is get on my bike and ride.

Seeing Stella pissed me off, especially since she saw me while Juniper was hanging onto me like I wanted her there.

I saw the look in Stella’s eyes, and it made everything worse.

She knew she could have me, yet she walked away.

I should’ve just said forget it and taken what was being offered to me freely by Juniper, but the woman annoys the shit out of me. I don’t like having her hang all over me . . . no matter the fact she’s hot. She’s not someone I want in my bed.

Hell, the only one I want in said bed is Stella.

In the past weeks, I’ve not fucked anyone else.

There’s been plenty of chances. Women are already willing and ready for me to take them in whatever way I feel like doing so.

The PPs around here know I have a taste for fucking a particular way and love it when I do it with them.

To say they aren’t happy I’ve not been asking them is an understatement.

I’ve heard them bitch and moan over it. A few of them even begged me to take them to my room and fuck their brains out.

Not happening.

“Now that we’re all here,” Reaper grunts, banging the gravel down on the table, drawing church to session.

I tilt my head to him and wait to find out what’s what.

“We’ve got a shipment of cars going out this week, and we need to make sure we’re on schedule.” Reaper glances around the table, his gaze stopping on Ghost. “How are we on time?”

“With Isabelle and Ivy both handling the office, we’re getting more work done at the shop.

The legit shit on top of stolen cars,” Ghost answers, leans back in his chair, arm stretched out, and he raps his knuckles on the table in front of him.

“I believe we might even be able to get ahead of schedule now as long as everyone stays working on task.”

“Ivy suggested you all rotate the workload,” Reaper announces. “Any thoughts on this?”

“Rotate how?” Tombstone quirks a brow.

“Those working the legit shit and others getting cars ready for shipment. That way, not everyone is focused on particular things at one time.” He shrugs.

“Sounds good to me,” Ghost grunts.

“Same,” Diablo mutters harshly.

“Anyone got a problem with this?” No one disagrees with this idea considering it’s a good one and one they should’ve been doing all along. Church continues and we go through the usual before Reaper asks if there’s anything else.

“Yeah,” Hellhound growls, leaning forward and bracing his elbows on the table. “I need Scythe and Styxx looking into the name Miles Nelson.”

“Why?” The question slips past my lips before I can stop myself. There’s only one reason he would ask that, and that has to do with Stella. Could she be seeing this dude?

Hellhound meets my gaze, his jaw clenching. “Got a call from Connor. This Miles Nelson is the man my sister was contracted to marry.”

“Wasn’t that voided out years ago when . . .”

“No. She was still a virgin at that point. He wasn’t able to take that from her during the attack.” Hellhound grimaces.

But she wasn’t a virgin when the two of us . . . oh fuck. Or was she? I didn’t break through a barrier. She couldn’t have been. There’s no way.

“Were you able to get it voided out?” Scythe asks, furrowing a brow.

Hellhound shakes his head and sighs in frustration. “Evidently, Stella’s contract is now nulled due to her being knocked up.”

“What did you just say?” I demand, unable to stop myself from blurting out the question.

Hellhound’s gaze comes to mine as his narrows. “She’s pregnant. According to Connor, her not being a virgin nulls the contract, but this confirms it. However, Nelson can still demand her to be his. Though I don’t think that will happen. Or at least I fuckin’ hope not.”

Fury burns in my stomach and all I want to do right now is storm out of here. To get on my bike, ride over to Stella’s and demand answers.

“I’ll look into Miles Nelson and let you know what I find on him,” Scythe mutters, breaking through the stare down between Hellhound and myself.

Hellhound shakes his head slightly before nodding. “Appreciate it.”

The rest of church goes quickly but my mind isn’t on what’s going on or what’s being said.

I’m too focused on the fact Stella is pregnant.

It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to know whose baby she’s carrying.

She’s not one for sleeping around and it scares the hell out of me that she could have possibly been a virgin.

I remember the night we fucked into the early morning hours.

She was snug. So damn tight, but I didn’t break through a barrier.

I’m sure of it. But the last condom we used broke, and I didn’t get the chance to tell her about it.

She passed out then was gone the next morning.

I would have told her about it if she hadn’t run from me.

There’s also the fact she avoided me for the past few months . . . scared of what the two of us share.

Now she’s pregnant and trying to run.

I’m not about to let that shit happen. Not in this lifetime.

Reaper bangs the gavel on the table, and I push myself out of my chair, round the table, and head for the door.

My mind set on one thing and that’s getting out here and getting to a certain dark-haired beauty so I can talk some damn sense into her before she does something to piss me off—like leaving town.

“Angel,” Hellhound calls out, but I ignore him.

“Dammit, VP.” I hear Reaper grumble.

“Got places to be,” I yell over my shoulder without stopping.

“We gotta talk,” Hellhound states, gruffly.

“We’ll talk later.” Much later. I’m not talking with anyone else until after I talk with a particular woman and figure out what the hell is going on.

Leaving them behind, I move to open the door when Juniper steps in front of me.

“Hey, Angel.” She all but purrs as she brings her hands up to run along my chest.

Done with the bullshit, I snarl at Juniper. “Back off, Juniper. I didn’t tell you to touch me. I sure as fuck didn’t ask you to come near me. Now back the hell off before you make it where you’re no longer welcome here.” With that said, I step around her and out the door.

I know Stella’s schedule and I intend to be at her place when she gets home. She’s not the only one with secrets. Mine is the fact the little house she lives in is owned by none other than me and I’ve got the keys to gain entrance.
