Chapter 4

Chapter Four

Hellhound

Staring after my VP, I clench my teeth together.

“Brother, you know him,” Reaper says, standing next to me watching as the door closes behind Angel.

The woman standing by it fumes as she also seems angered by Angel’s outburst. But she’s had it coming for a while now. She won’t give up and leave the members of the club alone. Hell, she’s worse than one of the PPs some days.

“I know him.” I nod, agreeing with my Prez, doesn’t mean I like it. “She’s my sister and the way he acted is all the answer I need for confirmation as to who knocked her up.”

“Least you know he would never hurt her,” Reaper offers the knowledge we all know. Angel may be many things but he’s not one for hurting a woman in anyway. The two of them had sisters before they all but lost their entire family.

“He better fix whatever’s going on,” I mutter and turn to face my Prez. Reaper’s a man to be reckoned with. The power radiates off him. “If he doesn’t, I might have to kill him.”

Reaper grins and shakes his head while crossing his arms over his chest. “You know that I can’t let you do that. I got two kids who need their uncle Angel. Not just that, but Isabelle would hurt you for killing him.”

I can’t help but snort at Reaper’s remark because I know he’s right. Angel is like a brother to Isabelle, and she loves him as one. If I were to even bruise him, she’d get upset, but she’d also get over it. She knows what Stella means to me and what all we’ve been through.

Grunting, I move away from my Prez and head in search of my woman.

“Hellhound,” Reaper calls out.

“Yeah?” I stop and glance back over to him.

“We’re going to make sure nothing happens to her.”

“I know we will. This time around I’m not letting my sister get hurt. It’s the only reason, I didn’t stop Angel from going after her.” As much as I don’t want to admit it . . . I know it’s the truth. It’s not lost on me he’s got a thing for my sister. He doesn’t hide the way he watches Stella.

Getting back to it, I head down the hall leading to where I last left my woman.

Right now she’s the only one who can calm the anger roaring in my veins.

I need her as much as I need my next breath.

With her I’m calm and I know she’ll understand because both Isabelle and I have sacrificed enough in our lives.

We deserve to have peace and as much as I would love to say that’s what we have. It’s not true.

Things are still up in the air on a lot of things. One of them is what’s going on with my sister. Another is what happened with my woman years ago. This whole thing with the Scarlet Needles rubs me the wrong way. It scares the hell out of me wondering what they could have done to Isabelle’s body.

Time for peace isn’t yet, but hopefully, soon enough, it will be.
