Chapter 14
Chapter Fourteen
Stella
“I’m fine,” I mutter, sitting in the bed, staring at the women who have become my friends. They took me on even when I didn’t want to be friends with anyone. But I have to admit I like having them around, though right now, not so much.
Since bringing me back to the clubhouse—under protest—they’ve not left me alone one bit. I wanted to go home and lay on my bed where I could be comfortable and not have the sight of Juniper in my head, haunting me. God, I’m an idiot.
“You are not fine,” Ivy huffs and rolls her eyes. “You should still be in the hospital. What if something happens?” A look of concern crosses her face.
“If something happens then you can take me in, but seriously, I just hurt all over and want to be somewhere comfortable and not smelling antiseptic. I do that enough when I’m working,” I say, being honest.
Though it’s not the main reason.
Angel left me at the hospital pissed and I didn’t want to be the next to feel his wrath when he finished.
It’s why I wanted to go home and not stress myself over facing him.
Plus, at the hospital without him there and having been in an accident, I felt vulnerable.
Especially after hearing it wasn’t an accident but rather intentional.
Maybe I should tell Angel about the messages I’d received. Then again, he might go ballistic on me. Yeah, I don’t think so.
“I get that, but that doesn’t mean we’ll leave you alone.
Someone needs to stay with you,” Sutton grumbles coming to sit on the edge of the bed while holding a pizza box.
“When our girl’s down we do movie-a-thon, and I’m feeling some Double 07.
” She wags her brow and flips the lid upward just as her phone beeps.
Sutton lifts her phone and smirks as she reads what’s on the screen.
“Well second thought, we’ll let you rest for the time being. ”
“Ugh . . . okay . . .” I let the words linger as I stare at her in confusion.
Gathering their things, the ol’ ladies exit the room, looking back and waving with smiles. Ivy points at me as she gets to the door. “Stay in that bed. I mean it.”
Rolling my eyes, I nod and stretch out a little more on the bed as the door closes. With a sigh of relief, I look up at the ceiling as I touch my stomach . . . worry setting in that something could go wrong. I could possibly lose mine and Angel’s baby and that scares the hell out of me.
Minutes pass and the door flies opens. I nearly jump off the bed squealing in surprise as I sit up on the bed. I stare at the man who steps inside and closes the door behind him without taking his eyes off me.
I take in everything about him, assuring myself he’s whole. The view of the blood on his hands and staining his shirt does nothing to take away from how hot he is.
“Are you okay?” I hear myself asking as he steps deeper into the room.
“Yeah.” Angel’s eyes flash with anger for a moment as he answers through clenched teeth. The way his jaw seems to tick tells me he’s lying. Though it doesn’t take a genius to know that either.
“You sure?” I bite my lower lip nervously.
Without answering me, Angel walks into the bathroom and closes the door.
I furrow my brow at his reaction and slowly climb out of the bed as I hear the water come on. I take it easy in striding across the room and hoping to find the door not locked. I twist the knob and release a breath. The steam is already thick when I push inside.
Striping out of my clothes—I don’t have any bandages other than the butterfly strips in my forehead—I move for the shower door, open it, and step inside.
“Not a good idea right now, Stella,” Angel says, not turning toward me.
“But—”
He doesn’t give me a chance to finish what I was going to say.
One moment I’m behind him, next I’m backed against the wall and he’s caging me in.
“I told you it’s not a good idea right now, Love.
” His voice is thick and grated. “But here you are, baby, cut up and bruised . . . hurt. You should’ve stayed in bed, not come in here when I’ve got blood staining my hands. ”
“But—”I try again.
“No, Stella, no buts about it.” Shaking his head, he tilts down and leans in, his forehead resting against mine. “I could’ve lost you.”
“You didn’t.” The words barely a whisper. Pressing my hands against his chest, I run them up and wrap them around his neck. “I’m here. Alive.”
“Yeah, you are,” he agrees, lifting his head enough for our lips to meet.
Angel kisses me slow at first, a barely-there touch, but deepens it when I open in invitation.
The kiss becomes demanding and dominating as he wraps one arm around my waist and the other goes above my head.
I moan and lean in closer. The feel of him so close, our bodies touching, soothes a part of me that was aching for him in so many ways.
I gasp for breath as he breaks his mouth from mine and kisses downward, peppering kisses to each of my breasts. Flicking his tongue at one of my nipples, I arch into him, wanting more. They’re sensitive as ever, and I need his touch . . . his mouth.
“Hmm, tight little buds, always so sweet. I love your nipples, baby,” he murmurs, sucking one into his mouth, flicking at the nip as he lowers his arm from the wall to pinch at the other one.
“Angel,” I moan arching further into his touch.
Groaning his approval, Angel switches to the other breast, giving it the same attention. He slides his hand further down and cups me between my legs. Two fingers slip through my juices and plunge inside my pussy, drawing a cry of pleasure from my lips.
“Oh God . . . Angel, it feels so good,” I cry out, loving the feel of him fucking me with his fingers, but it’s not enough.
Angel lifts his head, those dark, vibrant eyes of his meet mine, and he lowers himself to his knees—all without looking away. “Fuckin’ love this pussy, baby. It’s all mine. Tell me you’re mine,” he commands, flicking his tongue across the bud of nerves that sends a tingle vibrating through my body.
“Yours,” I whimper in need. “Always yours.”
“Fuck, yeah, you are,” Angel growls right before plunging his tongue in my pussy alongside his fingers.
Sensations rocket through my body, and I dig my own fingers through his hair in an attempt to hold him in place. But there’s no holding him still. The release that hits me has me screaming his name as I come.
Angel keeps his momentum steady until he wrings every drop of my orgasm from me. Only then does he pull away and lift his gaze to mine. “Could do that all damn night.”
“Hmm, I might let you.” I smile, exhausted more than before.
He stands to his feet and pulls me under the water. “Come on, let’s get clean and put you to bed.”
“What about you?” I ask, wrapping my fingers around his thick shaft.
Angel grabs my wrist and shakes his head. “This wasn’t about me, Love. I’ll get mine when you’re not hurt, and I can fuck you the way I want.”
With that he turns, grabs the soap, and twists back to start washing the both of us . . . cleaning us of the grime of the day and what it consisted of.
This action is one that tells me just how wrong I was to let even a sliver of doubt in my head because of Juniper.
Angel means everything to me, and I won’t let doubt come between us again.
Not for anything. I trust him with my heart, and I’m at his mercy when it comes to him holding my soul in the palm of his hands.
There’s a story I once read where, the advice was given, that you don’t give a man your soul unless you know one hundred percent sure he’ll cherish it. When it comes to Angel, I’m a thousand percent sure he would do just that.
