Cayden

THIRTY-THREE

Squeezing my eyes shut, her words wash over me as I rest my forehead against her neck. This feels too right to be wrong, and for once, I let everything go and give in to what I want.

Because it’s what I want too…

Her in the end.

My hands grip her waist as I slide her down onto me. She feels so damn good and fits so fucking right that everything in me screams that I’m right where I’m meant to be.

“Cayden,” she moans softly, taking all of me as her pussy stretches and adjusts to my size. I knew nothing would prepare me for going bare with her, but I didn’t expect to be so at peace.

She feels like home.

And for the first time, I don’t want to run in the other direction…I want to stay.

She slides slowly back down, and I watch her head fall back in bliss as her lips part.

“So fucking beautiful,” I murmur, trailing my hand down her neck and between her breasts.

If I didn’t feel her with every fiber of my being, I would think I was dreaming.

Having her here, in my space…in parts of my life that I hide from others…it does something to me.

Her body becomes more greedy as she takes me harder. My dick slides against her walls, and the sound of her ass slapping against my legs has my balls tightening to steel.

Gripping her hips, I slam her down, and she lets out a moan that fuels the beast inside of me.

Lifting her in one quick motion, I stand and turn her around so she’s facing my name. “Hands on my locker,” I roughly demand. “I want my name to be all you see as you cum around my cock.”

Her breathing picks up as she palms the wood.

Centering myself, I plunge back into her warmth until I’m balls deep in heaven.

I groan as her body encases me like a sheath. We fit so goddamn perfectly together that it’s a miracle we’ve survived this long without the other.

Looking down, I watch my dick disappear inside her pussy, glistening with her arousal. She’s marking me in ways that can never be erased.

Her ass pushes back into me, and the need to be everywhere in this tight body has me sliding my thumb down her crevice and pushing against her tight hole.

She tenses slightly, but soon relaxes against me.

“Ever been touched here, little moon?” I ask, running my thumb along the opening and applying just enough pressure for her to want more.

“No,” she moans, her fingers curling against the locker.

“Do you want me to stop?” A smile tugs at my lips, knowing damn well her body is enjoying this by the way her ass pushes back into me, begging for more.

“No,” she whispers.

“My naughty little teacher,” I tsks. My cock thrusts into her as I apply more pressure to her other hole, slipping the tip of my thumb inside.

“Oh, God,” she whimpers, as I feel her body start to tremble. “Cayden…”

“I’ve been wanting to fill this pussy for a long time now,” I say quietly, feeling her walls tighten around me. “Show me what it feels like when you cum all over my cock.”

I bury myself deep, and my thumb presses harder at the same time.

As soon as my name leaves her lips and her walls squeeze me, I release in a blinding rush as I moan from the force.

I pulse inside her, giving her what’s left of me and knowing after tonight, I’ll never get all of me back again.

“When you said you wanted a date, this was not what I had in mind,” I chuckle, staring beneath my lashes at Luna and Scarlett patting sand onto my legs.

It’s been a week since that night at the rink, and between my away games and her last-minute recital prep, this is the first afternoon both of us have had off.

I was thinking she would want a date at some expensive restaurant and be wined and dined, but she surprised me once again by wanting to take Scarlett to her favorite beach and cook dinner together later.

I have to admit, this is way better, even though I am lying here in the sand as they bury me waist down.

“You aren’t having fun on our date?” Luna sits back on her heels and adjusts her new Bolts ballcap on her head. I brought an extra one with me today and gave it to her earlier. I don’t think I’ll get tired of seeing her wear my team.

She bends over me to pat more sand on my legs, and I glance down at her perfect breasts in the black two-piece bikini like I’ve done every second since she’s taken her t-shirt and shorts off.

“No, this is a top date for sure. The view from where I’m lying is worth all this sand in my shorts,” I grin.

She giggles, and her green eyes shine with a playfulness that has my heart beating faster.

“You do make a very sexy merman,” she murmurs.

“This tail doing something for you?” I ask, lowering my sunglasses to peer at her.

“I think it does,” she laughs.

“Hmm. I could get down with that,” I say, putting my glasses back up. “I’ve always had a thing for mermaids. Ariel was hot.”

Her laughter rings out, and I grin wider. I’ve been doing that a lot more lately, and I can’t seem to stop. Scar’s always been able to make me smile, but now I find myself doing it alone at odd hours of the day. It just creeps up on me and takes me by surprise.

“I think we’re done,” Luna says, smiling at my daughter. “How does Daddy look?”

“Daddy a pwetty mermaid,” she says, clapping her hands.

“Thanks, babygirl,” I laugh. “I’ll take that compliment.”

Glancing down, I have to admit they did a good job. Well, Luna did. I’m pretty sure Scarlett had fun just dumping buckets of sand on me.

“I’m impressed. I had no idea you had such great sand-making skills. Maybe I should bury you next?” I tease her.

“As appealing as that sounds, I promised Scarlett that I would get in the water with her,” she chuckles, brushing the sand over her thighs as I sit up and toss my sunglasses on the towel.

Pulling my ballcap down further, I watch my daughter pick up a shell and drop it into her pink bucket before grabbing her shovel and pouring sand over it.

Beach toys are scattered across our area, ones that Luna surprised Scar with, and our cooler is packed with fruit and snacks that she knew she would like.

“Thank you for setting this up, and for including Scar,” I say, turning back to Luna. “She’s having so much fun.”

“Of course I would include her,” she says, scrunching up her nose. “She’s your daughter. Besides, I love spending time with her. She’s my new bestie,” she smiles, glancing at her as she scoops up water from a small hole we dug earlier.

“Bestie, huh? What does one have to do to become a bestie?” I toy with the string on her bottoms and just the small contact against her skin makes me want more.

“Well,” she says, cheekily, “you’re off to a good start.”

“Well, that’s good to know,” I murmur, leaning closer.

“You could get to that status any day now,” she whispers, as my palm grazes her thigh.

I see my daughter out of the corner of my eye, busy with her toys, as I lean closer to her lips.

“I guess I’ll just have to try harder,” I breathe, reaching up and cupping her cheek.

Our breaths mingle as I close the short distance and swipe my tongue across her bottom lip before kissing her softly. She tastes like sunshine, and I could easily spend hours savoring it on her skin.

I release her way too soon for my liking and groan.

“We'd better take that swim now, or this merman is going to look a lot more x-rated when something breaks through to the surface.”

“Oh, my God,” she laughs.

Standing up, I look like I’ve been through a desert storm from the waist down.

“I’m going to find sand for days,” I mutter.

“Ready for a swim, Scarlett? I think your Daddy needs to rinse off,” Luna laughs, holding her hand out to my daughter and putting her hat on the cooler.

“You sandy, Daddy,” Scar giggles and points.

“Maybe that’s because you poured a whole bucket of sand on me.” Scarlett squeals as I tickle her before throwing her up on my shoulders. Her laughter rings out as little hands grip the side of my face as we walk down to the water.

“You thanked me earlier, but it’s me who should be thanking you,” Luna smiles, nudging me with her shoulder. “This has been the best day that I’ve had in a long time.”

“It’s been mine too,” I say, quietly.

Luna smiles as she walks backwards toward the water before turning and running into the waves. She dives in and comes up grinning.

“Luna mermaid,” my daughter says in a whispered awe, as she dives underwater again.

“I think you're right, baby girl.”

Looks like I got my mermaid after all.

“She’s out like a light,” I chuckle, walking back into the kitchen. “I’m pretty sure she fell asleep before her head hit the pillow.”

“The sun will do that to you,” Luna smiles, turning toward my voice before she goes back to cutting up potatoes at the island. With the setting sun in the background streaming through all the windows, I can’t stop staring at her as I stop in the doorway.

After the beach, we headed back to my place for dinner. It just made sense with Scarlett, and since Mae left earlier for her monthly book club with her friends from the Y, we have the place to ourselves.

Which is very fortunate, as my gaze drifts over her white cover-up that looks like one of my dress shirts. It hits her mid-thigh, and the gauzy material gives me glimpses of her black bikini underneath.

Closing the distance between us, I hug her from behind and kiss the side of her neck.

“Mmmm. You smell like coconuts and sunshine,” I murmur, tasting the saltiness of the ocean on her skin.

My hand fists the material at her stomach as I place more kisses on her neck. I hear her sigh against me as her hand stills on the countertop, releasing the knife and leaning her head back further onto me.

“You look really good in my kitchen, little moon. Almost too good,” I say quietly against her skin.

“I like being here with you,” she smiles. “So how long have you lived here?”

“A little over two years,” I say, walking over to the wine I picked up the other day for her. “Scarlett was about six months old when we moved in.”

I uncork the bottle and let it breathe while I get two wine glasses down. I’m usually a beer and bourbon kind of guy, but I enjoy the occasional glass of red wine with a steak.

“So Mae is your mom’s mom or dad’s?” She asks, slicing into another potato.

“Actually, neither,” I say, pouring us a glass. “She’s Jules’s grandma on her mother’s side.”

“She’s not your relative?” I’m not surprised she’s shocked. Most people are when I tell them my late wife’s grandma lives with me.

“No. Not by blood, anyway.” I hand her the wine glass and lean against the counter next to her.

“Jules and Mae were really close. She practically raised her. After she…after she passed, Mae was just as lost as I was.” I take a sip of wine and feel the heaviness settle in my chest as I remember those first few months.

“Jules was all Mae had left, and the only time I saw life come back into her eyes was when she was holding Scarlett,” I say softly. “I knew my parents couldn’t stay here and help me out forever, and I needed someone I trusted to care for Scar when I couldn’t be here.”

I stare out the window and watch the last light fade away over the Bayside skyline. People down below are busy walking the streets, and the traffic is in constant motion.

That’s the part that people don’t prepare you for when someone you love dies.

Your world as you know it ends, but you wake up the next day, and nothing else has changed.

Neighbors still walk down the street to their favorite coffee shop, laughter still surrounds you as people eat brunch with their friends…

life still moves on around you, even when yours has stopped.

Clearing my throat, I give Luna a small smile.

“It was an easy decision to move Mae in when I got this place. We both needed to be somewhere new where the past wasn’t suffocating us. And Scarlett…”

I smile as her image appears in my mind. “I guess you can say, she saved us both.”

Luna’s green eyes swell with tears as she quickly swipes the back of her hand across them.

“I’ve got to stop making you cry,” I say with a sad laugh. “I don’t like seeing you upset. Especially because of me.”

“I’m sorry. I can’t help it,” she sniffs. “I just think it’s really beautiful that you two have each other.”

Pulling her to me, she welcomes the embrace as we hug each other tight.

“You’re pretty amazing, you know that?” She whispers against my chest. “Mae and Scarlett are lucky to have you.”

“If someone had told me three years ago that I would be standing here now…

Happy.

Smiling.

Cooking dinner with a beautiful woman…

I would never have believed it.”

I kiss the top of her head and hold her closer.

“You’re the amazing one, little moon.

And right now in this moment…

I feel like I’m the lucky one.”
