Chapter Thirty-Three
Lucy
It's been two days since our night away, and I can still feel them inside me. They took turns using my body for their pleasure until I was ready to pass out from exhaustion and overstimulation. After that, we bathed together and fell asleep. It was a night I know I’ll never forget.
I never knew I had any kinks until that night.
Now, I’m just secretly hoping it will happen again, and soon.
That full feeling is something I’ve thought about constantly.
“You almost ready, Love?” Ren’s voice snaps me out of my thoughts, and I realize I’ve been sitting on my bed in a towel since I showered, my head full of daydreams.
“I just need to get dressed,” I say to his head poking through the doorway. He gives me a boyish grin, showing off his dimples.
I’ve been begging to go to Nana’s house to see the progress for a couple weeks now, but Cole said I couldn’t until his project was done.
He finished last night but said it was too late and he was too tired to go check it out and that we’d go today.
Excitement courses through my body as I stand from my bed and walk to the closet to grab clothes.
Putting on a flowy yellow sundress, I run a brush through my hair quickly and throw it in a bun before heading to the living room.
When I enter, Ren stands from the chair and pulls me into him, wrapping his arms around me.
“You smell delicious, Love. Too bad you didn’t let me shower with you.”
I let out a chuckle. “If I let you shower with me, we’d still be in there instead of heading to Nana’s house.”
Ren steps back, letting out a laugh and nodding his head. “You’re right about that. Are you ready?”
A beaming smile crosses my face as I nod enthusiastically. “Yes!”
Nash and Cole are waiting on the porch when we walk out. I notice they stop talking in hushed voices as Ren closes the door. Cole is riding with me while Ren and Nash drive the truck. We drive with the windows down, music in the background as I try to get information out of him.
“I would have ridden in the truck if I’d known you were going to ask a million questions,” Cole says.
“How you didn’t know this was going to happen is beyond me,” I say with a chuckle as I roll my eyes.
Cole avoids answering my questions the whole way there, and when we pull up to the house and I put the car in park, my eyes start to sting.
The outside looks perfect, everything painted to match the original part of the house.
Nash planted new flowers of all different colors along the foundation.
I get out and shut my car door, staring in amazement.
Swiping a stray tear away before I think anyone notices, I take a few steps towards the house before Cole stops me.
“Slow down, Rich Girl. Put this on.” He holds out the same blindfold we used at the hotel, and I can feel a blush creep up my neck. He notices and rolls his eyes.
“It’s only until you get inside.” He leans in and whispers, “We can use that later though if you’d like?”
Goosebumps trail down my skin as I take the soft blindfold from him and slip it over my eyes. Cole grabs my hand and leads me through the front door, making sure I don’t trip or run into anything. He grabs my shoulders and positions me where he wants me before stepping to the side.
“Alright. You can take off your blindfold.” Cole’s voice is nervous when I reach up and tear the fabric from my eyes.
I blink a few times before my vision clears, and it doesn’t take long until it’s ruined again by tears. I take a few cautious steps and place my hand on the brick surrounding the fireplace.
“Is this—” I look over my shoulder at the guys, and Cole nods his head. A soft smile is all I can give him because the lump in my throat is growing by the second.
“It took a while to clean them all up, and while not all of it is original, about eighty percent of it is,” Cole says as he drops his eyes to the floor.
“He did a great job,” Ren's voice cuts through. “We didn’t even know Cole was doing it until a week ago.” Ren pats Cole on the shoulder and gives him a grin.
“Thank you.”
It leaves my mouth in a whisper. I turn back and touch the brick again, making sure this isn’t a dream.
I look closer and see a familiar marking on one of the pieces.
The letters N and an L etched inside of a heart make a sob escape me, and I cover my mouth to stifle the sound.
The guys are around me in seconds, holding me up and comforting me.
“I’m sorry.” My voice cracks as I try to explain myself. “I didn’t realize how this was going to make me feel.”
“Darlin’, there is no need to apologize for your feelings.” Nash’s voice is soft as he nuzzles against my temple.
“Whatever you are feeling is valid, Love. We know how much you miss her,” Ren whispers quietly into my ear.
“Would you like to see the rest of the house?” Cole looks me in my eye, and I simply nod my head. Embarrassed by my reaction, I look down at the ground before taking Cole’s hand and following him through the house. We make it to the bottom of the stairs when Nash speaks up.
“I just got a text from Lawson. He wants to talk about a job at one of the cabins on his property.” Nash puts his phone in his pocket before looking between Cole and me. “Are you guys okay if Ren and I go check it out?”
“Yeah, we’re good. We’ll meet you back at the house later,” Cole answers.
I give Nash and Ren a quick wave before continuing up the stairs with Cole behind me.
Stepping to the side of the landing, I let Cole lead me into the spare room above the living room.
When he opens the door, I freeze. This room has been put back together with the office furniture that was in here before.
You wouldn’t even realize this room had been through a disaster if it weren’t for the lingering smell of paint.
“You didn’t have to put everything back, Colson. I could have done it,” I say, surprised.
Cole shrugs his shoulders. “Yeah, I know. But we didn’t want you to have to worry about that.”
Silence surrounds us as I take in the room, and memories swirl in my brain.
Nana and I used to sit in this room while she made baking lists and created her schedule for the week.
I look over to the chair in the corner where I used to sit with whatever book I was reading at the time.
My thoughts are only interrupted by Cole clearing his throat.
I lean into him and rest my head on his shoulder.
I thread my fingers through his and let out a breath.
“Do you want to see my room?” I ask, looking up at him.
Cole’s body stiffens for a moment before he says, “Okay.”
I stand in front of him and narrow my eyes. “Have you already seen my room, Colson?”
“No,” he answers defensively. “I can’t say the same about Ren, but I never went in there. That’s your space. I figured you’d invite me in there when you wanted to.”
“Hmm, well I’m asking you now,” I say playfully.
I grab his hand and pull him out into the hallway and down to my room.
Stepping inside, I spin and pull Cole close to me as I stand on my tiptoes to kiss him.
Our lips lock in fiery passion as I walk us backwards, the back of my knees hitting the mattress.
Cole lays me down and hovers over me, lips still connected.
He rests his thigh between my legs and puts pressure on my clit.
Moaning into his mouth, I grind against his thigh, creating the friction I desperately want.
He pulls back for a breath and gazes into my eyes.
“Lucy, I—” he starts but is interrupted by my phone pinging.
I let out a groan before sliding my hand behind me and grabbing the device from my back pocket. I look at the message and push Cole off of me and sit up.
“What the hell?” Cole says from the floor.
“Look,” I say, shoving my phone in Cole’s face. His eyes widen as he grabs the phone from my hand.
“What the fuck does this mean?” Cole’s voice is loud. I move to the ground beside him and look at the message again.
Unknown: Time is almost up for you to return what isn’t yours. I made a mistake with your accident. I won’t make another with your Loverboy.
Cole and I look at each other with worry as Cole’s phone starts to ring. He grabs it and looks at the screen before glancing up at me. “It’s Nash.”
Nash
“Did Lawson say what kind of job this was going to be?” Ren asks from the passenger seat.
“No. Just wanted us to meet him there so he could explain it,” I answer, nodding my head along to the music playing.
It’s another minute before Ren says anything. “Do you think she’ll leave now that the house is basically done?”
Looking over at him, I shake my head. “I’m not sure.”
“I don’t think she will. I think she loves us,” Ren replies optimistically before giving me a big smile. I smile back at him before returning my eyes to the road.
Pulling into Lawson's driveway, we pass the main house and head further into the trees on his land. A minute later, we park in front of the second cabin he built, and get out. Looking around, there’s no sign of Lawson anywhere.
I pull out my phone and try to call him, but the call goes to voicemail.
I try a second time with the same result.
Looking out the window, I see Lawson pulling up, so Ren and I exit the truck.
Ren gives Lawson a wave and walks around the cabin.
Lawson turns his baseball cap backwards before he talks. “Hey, man. Saw you drive by the main house. What’re y’all doing here?”
I furrow my brow at him. “What do you mean? You wanted us here.”
Lawson looks around before focusing on me again and chuckles. “What do you mean? I didn’t call you.”
“I know. You texted me askin’ us to meet you here for a job.” My tone is more defensive than I mean it to be.
“No, I didn’t. I lost my phone a few days ago.”
“What?” The confusion in my voice also shows on my face as I see Ren walk back to the front of the cabin and reach for the door handle.
“Ren, WAIT!” My voice is drowned out by an explosion coming from the cabin. I watch as Ren’s body flies backwards and lands on the ground.
Smoke billows from the cabin, rising quickly into the sky as flames engulf it.
I run to the front of the truck and find Ren on the dirt, his leg bleeding profusely from the deep cut caused by the chunk of wood embedded in his thigh.
His eyes are closed, and there is blood in the corner of his mouth.
I drop to my knees and grab his face with my hands.
I check his pulse and make sure he’s breathing. His breaths are shallow, but there.
“Ren, wake up.” Tears blur my vision as I rub his cheeks. My voice cracks then turns to a whisper as I place my forehead against his. “Wake up, Sweet Boy.”
