Chapter Five
Deke drove the truck with Cassie next to him while the others rode their bikes.
After they got out onto the freeway, they traveled almost lightning fast.
When they hit the city limits of Boston, Deke wasn’t surprised to see Hawk and several of his brothers join them on the freeway.
They took the offramp that would lead them to the west end of town. They all then pulled over at a corner convenience store.
Cassie got a call from Izzy, so she waved the phone at Deke.
Deke gave Cassie a nod and got out of his truck. He knew it would be best if she stayed in the truck anyway.
Sam and Mountain joined him as they walked over to where Hawk was waiting.
Hawk nodded at them and said, “Iceman called to warn us you were coming.”
“We’re after Banger from the Screaming Falcons,” Sam told him as he looked around.
Hawk nodded. “We know some of it. Iceman told us about the house. So two of my boys rode over to Winsor Street and are watching it. They’ll let us know.
They got there about half an hour ago. So far there isn’t any trouble.
” Hawk shook his head as he added, “Dak got close enough to try and listen in on them. He sent me pics on my phone and brother...That house is a fucking dump. Dak went around the whole house and he noticed something weird.”
“What kind of weird?” Deke asked.
Hawk shook his head. “That’s just it, he didn’t see anything out of the ordinary, he just got a bad vibe about that place, you know?
Like the basement windows were all covered with black tarp but he could hear someone moving around down there.
Then he peeked in the first-floor windows and holy hell, it's filled half way up with nothing but garbage and there are rats running around everywhere.”
“Who the hell lives like that?” Mountain growled under his breath.
“Nobody I’d want to know that’s for damn sure.
” Hawk shook his head. “Then just a head’s up, the Screaming Falcons are here in town too.
They drove in late last night and got set up in the dock area.
” He leaned back on his bike, crossed his arms over his chest and smiled faintly.
“Heard rumors that their clubhouse got blown to hell and they found a paper nailed to a tree with a bright red V on it. Wondered what they did to invoke the fury of the leading family but seeing you guys here, I guess I don’t need to ask.
” He paused, then asked, “Are Peaches and Cassie alright?”
Deke nodded. “They took Cassie first, beat the hell out of her. Banger wanted to know where Robbie was holding his family’s gold. We went to recuse her and while we were busy taking down the brothers, we found Cassie holding Rodney from the Falcons at knife point.”
Hawk chuckled. “She went Spitfire on him, didn’t she?”
Deke grinned. “Yeah, she did. Then the next day Banger made the mistake of taking Peaches, but Cassie told her to wear an old vest Zipper had given them. It had tracking on it and we found her right away but Banger had to go and hit her anyway, the dumb bastard. When we found them, we taught Banger the same lesson.” He paused to add, “I guess neither of them got the message but this time they will learn it the hard way.”
Sam said very little as he paced back and forth.
They all knew why. He had every right to feel that way.
Mountain glared at the city behind them, then he turned to Hawk. “You know where exactly we can find the club?”
“Sure do.” Hawk grinned. “You boys need some help? I mean why should you guys have all the fun?”
Mountain cracked his knuckles again and said, “Sure. Let’s dance.”
Going back to his bike, Sam joined him and Deke got back into the truck with Cassie.
Hawk turned his bike around and his boys followed him to the dock area.
The Sin’s members all followed as well.
When they reached the docks, they found Boxer and a few of the boys there, seemingly waiting for them.
Mountain and Sam slowly got off their bikes.
Boxer held up his hand. “I know why you’re all here and I have to tell you that Banger ain’t one of us anymore. You boys kept Rodney behind and Banger went rogue after we got home and found our clubhouse in rubble the other day. We ain’t seen hide nor hair of him since then.”
Deke joined them and asked, “You missing anyone else?”
Boxer nodded. “Yeah, Finn got a call the other night and we ain’t seen him either in a while.”
“Do you know where they are?” Sam growled.
“Banger came back to Troy and grabbed Peaches. When we found him, we gave him a good beating and left him tied up in a warehouse. He got free and the next thing we know he grabbed another woman. That woman is my wife, my ole lady.” He motioned with his thumb at Mountain.
“And she’s his daughter and this just pisses the both of us off. ”
Boxer paled and swallowed hard as the men standing behind him backed up a step. “That ain’t got nothing to do with us. I told you Banger went rogue. He’s on his own now and was as soon as he turned around and went back to your town.”
Mountain sneered. “Yeah, Boxer. But you know he’s still wearing your colors, right? That makes whatever he’s doing is under you.”
Boxer raised his hands up in defense. “Look, we’re not responsible for what he is doing.
And he took his cut with him. He took our loyalty when he did that.
The man lost his shit in prison we think.
We did not know he would go at this like he has.
We already got Vincintis pissed at us. They blew up our clubhouse and we are on our way to an area where nobody knows us.
Just let us leave peacefully and you’ll never see us again. ”
“I thought you guys waited all this time for Banger to get out of prison?” Sam cocked his head at him. “You even sent two brothers after him, you gave him his colors back the moment he walked out of those gates. And now you’re turning your backs on one of your own? Wow, what kind of club is this?”
Boxer shook his head. “Not the kind of club that wants to make enemies of the mob, that’s a fact and as long as we stay here, that’s what we’ll become.
Yeah, we gave him his colors back but we didn’t know ten years behind bars had driven the man completely over the edge.
Or maybe it was losing his family’s gold that did it.
Don’t care what reason why, but we aren’t sticking around to find out. ”
Mountain’s brothers as well as some Sinners had gotten off their bikes to move closer to Deke and the others.
Sam stepped closer to the Prez of the Screaming Falcons and his voice rippled with rage as he spoke low and cold, “This is what I know for a fact...You came to our town, took Cassie then beat her up. Then Peaches gets taken and she gets beaten too and now my woman. And all of this was done by men wearing the Screaming Falcons’ cut. ”
Mountain stepped up beside Sam. “You should have asked for a parlay. Not sneak in the way you all did.”
A Screaming Falcon with the patch of Chewy stepped up next to Boxer. “We went with him for support. We believe in loyalty. Then he ruined all of that. We believed he would approach your club to ask about Cassie and what she knew. I grew up around Virgil and he wasn’t like this before he went in.”
Sam shook his head. “He’s got my woman now. And he will be dead within hours, so I hope you realize that he is fucking gone already.”
Boxer nodded. “When he took off and went back to Troy, we knew he was dead then.”
Sam growled beneath his breath as this convo did nothing to calm his rage.
Falcons now stepped closer as they could see where this discussion was heading.
Mountain growled as his hands clenched into fists. “So now, we’re gonna have one last dance, before you leave.” Mountain threw the first punch.
Boxer flew six feet before he slammed into the warehouse wall.
Sam jumped right in to take on two other Falcons at the same time. His fury knew no bounds and he crushed bones, just like his name implied.
This started the free for all.
Everyone rushed forward and for the next ten minutes they were dancing in a kind of violence that only bikers knew.
Fists flew and men dropped. Bones were crunched as well as cuts were made to faces and lips. There were groans and shouts as men were lying everywhere on the cement.
The last men standing were the Sin’s Bastards and the Sinners. When the battle was done the Screaming Falcons were beaten.
Mountain shook his hand out. He then paused to bend over and pick up a full-grown man to wipe his large bloody fist onto his Falcon’s cut.
Then he dropped him and the man’s limp body smacked onto the cement.
Finally, he straightened his own cut then walked over to climb onto his huge Hogg of a bike.
He made it appear as if he did this sort of thing every-damn-day.
Hawk watched him and he couldn’t contain his smirk as he wiped a drop of someone else’s blood from his chin. Anyone who went to battle with Mountain always ended up the same way. There was a saying about this man, even around here... He dropped opponents like dead men from the top of Everest.
Sam still looked angry, like this beatdown did nothing to appease him. Only one thing would do that. Getting his Silk back. Turning away as if all those men lying on the ground bleeding were just trash, he stalked over to climb onto his bike.
Mountain turned and joined him.
Hawk went over to them and nodded at Bones in acknowledgement. “We will be at each end of the street to catch any rats scampering away from that shit house.” He nodded at Sam and Mountain then got on his ride.
The bikes all started up with an almost deafening roar as The Sinners and The Sin’s Bastards headed out to capture the men who deserved to die today.
