Chapter 20

Kenzee

“So now you’re just his old lady, huh?” Phil asks as I do makeup on the woman lying in front of me.

“Something like that,” I tell him. He laughs.

“Oh, I saw the cut, honey. You’re not fooling me.”

“He hasn’t made it official yet,” I tell him as I keep working.

“And by official you mean what?”

“He will announce it to the club.”

“And that’s it?” he asks, scrunching up his nose.

“That’s it. That’s how it works.”

“That seems too easy. What if you say no?” he asks.

“Doesn’t really matter in our world. I could say no as many times as I wanted if that’s what Storm wants.”

“Barbaric! I like it!” Now we both laugh when I hear the bell for the front door. Phil laughs as he walks out of the room to go see who it is. I get back to work when I hear him scream. My head shoots up and I drop what I’m doing and rush out the door to find him.

“Where the fuck is she?” A man stands over him yelling.

“Looking for me?” I say, catching his attention to keep it off Phil. The man looks up and grins at me and the sight alone makes me sick. I know who he is, I can see the fucking cut he has on.

“Nice cut,” he says nodding toward mine.

“Isn’t it?” I ask him. He stands tall and starts toward me. My heart begins to race. I glance around trying to be sure that no one else is with him and I don’t see anyone so that’s a good sign.

“You’ve caused quite a stir for my club,” he tells me.

“Have I?” I say, sounding as fake as I could.

“You think this is a game, girl? You think that you can come around and fuck with my club?” he roars.

“I didn’t do shit that wasn’t done to me. Your club stole from me!”

“Your poor daddy? Are you still hung up on that? You would think after all these years you’d be over it, but clearly you still have some issues.”

“You murdered him. You took him from me. You think that I wouldn’t ever want repayment for that?” I ask, cocking my head to the side.

“Repayment? All by your little self? Or is that cripple of yours gonna help you?” he laughs. “I did a real number on that one, huh?” Anger surges in my veins and I finally know what it feels like to be one of the guys in this situation. Anger consumes me as the asshole keeps walking closer to me.

He can keep coming, I’m ready for him. I’m ready to fight.

“What is it you want?” I ask him, taking slow and deep breaths.

“I want you dead. But that isn’t what my brother wants,” he says.

“What does he want?”

“You.”

“Why?”

“You don’t know, do you?” he asks. Know what? I don’t know what it is he’s talking about and I don’t like it.

“Know what?”

“About your mom.”

“She left me, that’s all I needed to know,” I tell him as I flex my hands.

“In a way she did. In a way she didn’t.”

“You make no fucking sense. Why don’t you get the fuck out of here,” I tell him. He laughs and stops a few feet short of me.

“My brother seems to think that he has some claim over you. I don’t get it, never will, but that isn’t my choice to make.

Your dad, God rest his no good lyin’ soul was as fucked up as they come.

Playin’ both clubs against each other and then, to top it off, fuckin’ another brother’s old lady.

” He shakes his head like this is all so disgusting to him but it’s not making any sense to me.

“I don’t get it.”

“Your mom, she was my brother’s old lady. You… you should have been his baby. But instead your dead old dad fucked her and knocked her up. She couldn’t stand that you were his.”

“Where…where is my mom?”

“Burnin’ in hell with your dad. Now let’s just do this the fuckin’ easy way, shall we? Just come with me, hear him out, and that’s it.” I shake my head. There’s no way in fuck that I’ll willingly go with this asshole.

“Fuck you. Do you know who the fuck I am?” I sneer at him. He chuckles before nodding his head.

“Yeah. A spoiled little club princess that has been lied to all her life.”

“No. I’m the bitch that is going to take you out if you get any closer to me,” I say as I watch him intently. If he makes a move, so will I. Storm trained me well and I am confident in the fact that I can beat his scrawny ass. The bastard laughs and lunges for me but I step out of the way.

He rights himself and tries again, earning a punch to his face. Blood blooms on his lip. When he reaches up and wipes it, I smile.

“You’re gonna pay for that, bitch.”

“Am I?” I ask him right before he comes at me again. I’m ready for him. I throw another punch that lands, but he gets one in too. I stumble back before righting myself, holding my hands up just like Storm taught me to do.

“Come on. That's all you got?” I taunt him. He grins and comes back at me, tackling me to the ground. He wraps his hands around my throat, banging my head on the floor. My vision blurs slightly, but then I bring my knee up and knee him in the balls. He quickly releases me and I roll us so that I’m on top.

And then I swing. All I can see is the blood that coats his face. He brings his hands up, trying to block me, but I keep going. Nothing can stop me now.

“You killed my dad! You tried to take Storm from me,” I scream as I keep hitting him.

At some point, and I don’t know when, he stops trying to fight back.

His hands fall to his sides but I don’t stop there.

I keep hitting him, taking out all my anger and rage and sorrow on him. That is until I’m yanked off him.

“Let me go! I swear I’ll fucking kill you!” I yell as loud as I can. I hear the chuckle near my ear and I know that it’s Storm.

“I don’t think you’ll do that,” he says, his warm breath caressing my ear.

“Storm, let me go.”

“When you calm down, I will.”

“Fuck you! Let me go!” I roar louder this time and fight the hold that he has on me.

It does no good not that I thought it would.

He’s bigger than me, stronger. I see the others come in, and Phil walks out of the side room to meet them.

My uncle slaps a hand on Phil’s shoulder and I can only guess that he called them.

Tide leans down and presses his fingers to the asshole's neck before looking back up at me.

“Is he dead?” I ask not knowing if I want to know the answer to that or not.

“Not yet.”

“Damn. Thought I killed him,” I say, causing Storm to laugh.

“You’d like that wouldn’t you?” he asks as he finally lets me loose.

“I don’t think I’d feel bad,” I admit to him.

“What’d he want?”

“Me.”

“What? What did he say?” Storm asks as Patch walks over and I spin to face Storm.

“He said his brother wanted me. That my mom is dead and that she was his brother's old lady.” I can see the look in his eyes. He knew this already. What the fuck? “You knew?”

“They told me somethin’ like that when they took me,” he admits.

“And you didn’t think that maybe you should tell me?” I yell louder now.

“No. Not until we figured things out.”

“He’s right. You shouldn’t have known any of this until we knew for sure,” my uncle adds. I huff out a breath and start to walk away when Storm wraps his arm around my waist and pulls me back into his solid body. His lips come to rest on my neck and a moan nearly slips from my lips.

“You looked sexy as fuck beatin’ the shit out of that man with my name all over your back,” he whispers, his breath dancing over my flesh.

“Oh, you liked that?”

“I more than liked it, baby. Feel how hard I am?” He asks, shifting against me.

“Okay. You two can fuck later. Let’s get this asshole to the basement and see what we can find out,” Patch says as Tide and Patch lift the asshole. When they do, his mouth falls open and one of his teeth falls out, causing me to laugh.

“Is that a tooth?”

“Looks like you did a number on him,” my uncle laughs as they drag his limp body out of the funeral home. I stop to make sure that Phil is okay and help him close up for the night, making sure he gets to his car okay before I let Storm drag me to his bike.

“You rode here? With your leg?” I ask him.

“I’m fine, Kenz. Might not be able to walk all that well, but I can ride,” he says, sounding slightly angry. Before he can throw his leg over the bike, I grab him, spin him to face me and press up on my toes and kiss him.

“I know what you can ride,” I tell him.

“Oh yeah? You want me to ride that pussy hard and fast tonight?” I can feel my cheeks heat at his words before I smile at him.

“You know exactly what I want.”
