147. Styx’s Face
Styx’s Face
While we were watching Metis,
trying to determine what she was doing,
who this strange God was,
Styx could not take her eyes off him.
Her split eyes were wide,
her mouth open in fear.
She knew him.
I reached out to take her hand,
finding it even more ice cold
than usual. She turned to me,
barely able to find words,
the hiss in her voice more pronounced.
‘It is him, Asteria,’ she whispered,
her words trembled as they landed,
making their mark in my own fear.
‘He is the one from my dream.
The God who will
destroy us all.’
