27. Chapter 21

Mathew

I tap away on my keyboard. She’s here somewhere, I know it.

I had to hack into my father’s systems and override a few things, but really nothing I can’t handle.

I love how much he underestimated my abilities.

I try to open up our mind links, but get nothing.

I bet father gave her some type of drug to stop the link from coming through, that is his style afterall.

I slam my fist into the keyboard, making it crunch under my hands, and shards of plastic litter my once immaculate desk.

Opening up a drawer, I pull out a new keyboard.

Being a wolf I’ve learned a couple of things.

First, temper can overcome you faster than you can imagine.

And second, your strength is ten times that of a normal human.

Why? Why did he have to do this? He knows how much we have been looking forward to making her ours.

His ego has fully taken over and we need to crush it before things end up worse.

I mean him taking out Nate was horrible, but she’s alive, for now anyway, I can at least sense that.

Pulling out my phone, I send a text over to Zach.

“Have you gotten a hold of our team for any updates?”

I type the message so fast, I think my thumbs might fall off.

For the old man to really think we would just sit back and relax is laughable.

What kind of Alphas does he think we are?

She's our true mate, our scent match, and our Omega. Which her being an Omega is rare in itself, but being our Omega, it’s almost unimaginable.

We would never just pass her over. I know she's here in the city. My fathers reach is nothing compared to what we have built, he can’t run and hide outside of city limits without our knowledge.

We built solidarity, trust, and honesty with the people.

He instilled fear and hate, and I'm really excited to see which one really wins.

Kaylynn

It's been like this for days. I sit here alone in the silence, wondering if I have been forgotten.

A man opens up the coffin, takes me out and lets me relieve myself, and tosses me a piece of stale bread, if they see fit.

Then I'm thrown back into this god awful box.

It's the quietness, the stillness, the darkness, all mixed together, that has my anxiety going nuts. Snot runs out of my nose and down my face. I need to figure out how to get out of here, because I refuse to cry anymore. Where is that going to get me? Locked in a box again, taken out and played with when I’m wanted?

The blind fold I was originally wearing came undone a long time ago, but I almost wish it was back on.

Fuck, anything would be better than this.

“Why hello there. Someone is quiet today.” My tormentor, the ‘Mafia King’ speaks to me in his fake silky voice.

I bet that works with everyone else, but I’m not falling for any of his tricks.

He slowly unlocks the coffin, and I come face to face with a gorgeous face,, but I know how ugly his soul really is.

“You know, you don’t have to look at me like that Kaylynn.”

My eyebrows scrunch in question. “Pardon me?!?” I snark.

“Well, it seems like you're bitter, little Omega. Such a pity, I really could have used you for myself.” He mocks. I bare my teeth at the old man at his statement. “Such a stupid girl. You're caught up in so much, and you have no idea.”

The want, and need to cause harm to myself is really high right now. I need to get out of here, I need to get to my bag. This is all bullshit. This old man is grouped with my father disgracefully. Of course my father has something to do with my tormentor.

“You know, they don’t really care about you.

” He says as his eyes lock on mine.. I’m barely holding it together, and he knows it.

I stay quiet, as he bends towards me, brushing a piece of hair behind my ear.

His eyes flash to a golden red, and I blink my eyes rapidly, hoping I imagined it, trying to decide if I really saw that.

No way was that real. I must be hallucinating.

He must see the shock on my face. “Oh yes, my dear, you did see that right.” He laughs.

“My sons may want to sugarcoat things, but I will not. It’s better you know now.

” His eyes flash once more, but get stuck in the goldish red suddenly, and I see fangs begin to replace his teeth and his canines grow longer.

I close my eyes and push myself back into the velvet lining as much as I possibly can.

What the fuck?! No way is this real. I begin to shake my head and close my eyes tightly.

“‘Pull yourself together Kaylynn, and stop acting like a little bitch,” I tell myself. My eyes snap open, and once again I’m looking into the eye of the devil himself, a very attractive devil.

“I should just mate you.” He smiles so big, it looks like it goes so viciously, it almost reaches up to his ears. “Don’t act dumb, you know what we are.” Hair sprouts around his face and his teeth become even longer.

“You're.. a.. wolf!” I shriek.

“There, there girl.” His voice has changed, all growls and raspy now.

“We all are. You were born into a world bigger than you could ever fathom. You were put away after you presented as my sons’ mate, their Omega.

” His tone is so serious, I can’t help but to listen.

“You see, you are an Omega, but you're an non-shifting prize Omega.

A rare gem. You're going to have the city in an uproar if they find out.” He turns around after he gives me this information.

My eyes go so wide, I’m surprised they haven’t popped out. “I know you have questions, but those will be answered over time. My sons need to learn to respect me, they need to learn who is truly in charge here, or I will take what’s theirs.” He turns his head back at me.

“YOU!” He shouts.
