28. Chapter 22
Andrew
My paws hit the cool, damp earth, mud flying behind me, as I sprint as fast as I can.
The weather is cool and gray today, giving a sense of sadness.
I can’t go there. I have to keep going until she’s found.
Father has her, I just know it. The question is why and where?
That evil fucking piece of shit. I know this is eating everyone else up inside too.
To find your mate is something made in fairy tales.
But to have her for mere moments before having her snatched away is something beyond torture.
Life is not the same and it will not be the same until she is found and is back with us, safely.
The sun was hot, and I’m so thirsty, my tongue feels like sand paper.
Water, I just need some water. My brothers and I have been out running all day.
I love being in my true wolf form with no worries, with just the feel of the sun beating on your back and the light breeze that ruffles your fur.
I catch something in the air, and I wrinkle my nose as I sniff.
Licking my canines, my Alpha starts to whine.
Alphas don’t whine, I tell myself. ‘Mate,’ my Alpha whispers to me.
Mate? I turn around, and I see a girl sitting in her yard.
She’s wearing a beautiful sun dress while reading what looks to be a worn out book.
She must read it a lot for it to look like that.
Right? She turns, and her eyes stare straight into my soul.
The memory comes to me, and that’s when I knew she was my mate, and that no one was going to take her from us.
We were younger then. One single tear flows down my cheek.
I feel like I have betrayed the one who’s supposed to mean the most to me.
I wipe it away as fast as I can. I can’t show weakness, not when I am surrounding myself with a den of wolves.
