Aspen

His lips burn mine and I can taste myself on his lips. It should turn me off but my hips push up into his and I feel the heavy length of him trapped in his jeans against my belly.

“Don’t make me wait,” I whimper. I should be appalled at how needy I sound.

But I’m not. I know what I want. My fingers come down and I grasp the bulge in the front of his jeans. He hisses and shoves into my fingers like he can’t help himself.

I groan and he mirrors the sound, his hips pushing against my belly desperately.

“I don’t want to hurt you, sparkles.”

I shake my head and my eyes find his. I can see the worry in the sky blue.

“You’re not going to hurt me unless you turn me down.

I’ve waited until I was older than most women because I wanted to give this to a man who I wanted.

Not just the first man who offered. I’ve had offers. None of them was you.”

He sits up and starts tugging at his clothes and there’s an edge to his movements. “Some other asshole offered to sleep with you.”

“Yeah. He wanted to help me,” I shoot him air quotes and he chokes.

“I’m sure. After all, it’s such a detriment in this day and age to wait for a man or woman who makes you feel more than horny.”

“I don’t need a lecture, Hunter. I need your dick. And I don’t want to wait for it. So maybe you could go a little faster.”

He chokes on a laugh. “I’ve got what you need, sweetheart.” And he shoves down his jeans and my eyes widen.

“Umm. That’s not normal.”

He chokes again. “What the hell makes you say that?”

“You’re big?”

His grin turns devilish. He leans down and his mouth dances across my throat and then down until he tears off my shirt and bra so fast my head spins.

His mouth catches the diamond tip of my nipple and he growls, lapping and nibbling until I’m pushing my hips up and spinning them slowly around and around restlessly, searching.

His body comes down on me, hot and heavy and demanding. My pulse pounds in my ears and it feels like my whole body is going up in flames.

He bites down harder and my pussy pulses with wanton desire. “Hunter, please!” I beg, my voice hoarse and broken.

His big, warm body moves down until he’s lined up with the part of me that desperately needs him. I wrap my fingers around his hips and tug at him hard. He falls forward before he catches himself.

Then he slips inside me, inch after inch. So slow that I can feel every bit of him entering me. I pant and whimper and he stops. “Are you alright?”

But I tug at him harder. “I need you now. Please. Stop teasing me, dammit!”

And with a guttural roar he pushes inside my body and I gasp and groan, my whole body lighting up. “I’m so full,” I moan. He doesn’t move and I open my eyes, glaring at him. “Move.”

“I need to make sure that you’re alright and you really want this,” he grits out between clenched teeth. “Consent is important.”

I reach up and put one hand on each side of his face. “I could not consent more. Fuck. Me.”

And with a groan that I feel all the way to my core he sinks inside me. A tiny twinge is all I feel and then just so good. So damn good.

He moves in and out, over and over and my hips slam up into his and then the whole hotel room is full of the sound of slapping skin and groans and moans of pleasure.

My fingers dig into his broad, muscular shoulders as they bunch with each deep thrust until I’m being shunted up the bed and I’m putting up my hands to keep from banging the headboard.

My belly tightens and he reaches down and his long fingers find my clit between us and he rubs circles around it until I’m panting and my whole body tightens.

One more deep thrust and then he’s holding me tight as I come apart under him, shaking, shivering and screaming his name into the pillow under me, my head turned to the side.

“Let me hear you scream for me, sparkles.” I move the pillow and he bends down to take my lips as he pounds me faster and faster and my belly tightens again, my pussy clamping down hard on his thick cock until he can barely move.

And I scream wildly, my fingers tangling in his hair and tugging hard.

And I feel the warm, wet rush of him inside me as he stills and groans so long it’s like the rumble of a thunderstorm on the mountain.

And then he falls to the bed and rolls me until I’m lying on top of him.

I rub my cheek on his skin and my eyes close. I yawn and then I let myself rest.

Just for a second.

* * *

My hands reach out, groping. But nothing’s there. My eyes open and I sit up quickly.

I push my hair out of my eyes and then I hear the radio softly from the other room.

But when I sit up and slip my t-shirt on and pad out to the living room, my heart stops.

He’s sitting in front of the windows and his soft voice is crooning so gently that I can barely hear the words.

But I know them. And I know that voice. My heart pounds and tears sting my eyes.

“Hunter Mills.”

He freezes, his body going so still that I’m not even sure he’s still breathing.

And as the tears trail down my cheeks, I’m not sure I’m breathing either. My chest is tight, my head pounding to match my heartbeat. “Why didn’t you tell me who you are?” I whisper. “You told me your name was Hunter Devon.”

“It is.” He sits the guitar down and studies me quietly. His fists are tight at his side. “That’s my real name. And I didn’t tell you because…”

“Because you had no intention of being anything but a quick romance and then running,” I say. “A quick fuck. That’s all I am.”

“No!” he yells. “No, that’s not it at all. I fell in love with you that first time I saw you. I didn’t tell you who I am on the stage because that man hasn’t been me for a long time. I haven’t played a concert for over a year.”

My brows scrunch. “Why?”

“Because my agent had me seeing a woman. It was just supposed to be one of those celebrity relationships. Short and nothing. But I ended up thinking that we were more than that. I proposed. And then I came home from the studio six months ago to find her fucking the pool guy in our bedroom.”

I wince. “I’m sorry.”

He waves his fingers. “It’s okay. I dodged a bullet. But I haven’t been able to write or sing since that night. Until tonight.”

My chest warms. “Why?”

He grins. “Because I don’t think I’ve ever been happier in my life.”

Happiness curls in my belly. But fear coils there too. Because this man has a life that’s nothing like mine. He’s got fans and paparazzi stalking him all the time. He’s got it all

And I’m a barely functioning woman who doesn’t have the guts to tell her family that she needs something more than just the flower shop.

“Can you play something for me?”

And he smiles and pats the seat beside him.

He runs his fingers along the strings and then croons in his deep, rich voice. A song about love and loss and life.

Tears trickle down my cheeks and I sit there, enthralled.

This man can’t stay here. He needs to be shared with the world. I wish that I had the guts to talk to my cousins.

But even if I did, who’s to say that he actually wants me to go with him.
