Chapter 3 The Imperial Marriage
Marriage by grant was marriage by grant and could not be easily changed.
No matter how much Xu Fengwan ruined the Xu family she could not change it.
Yet Xu Fengwan went mad. She was convinced there must be a way for her to marry the Crown Prince and become the honored Crown Princess everyone admired.
So she targeted the spring hunt the season when even cats called out twice.
The hunting ground was filled with princes and nobles. Many young ladies were there too.
Truthfully it was far livelier than the spring banquet.
Xu Fengwan mounted the horse. She could not get up. She raised her hand to shoot but missed. She played polo and still could not hit.
All the noble young ladies laughed at her and even joked that the Huaihua General stationed at the border should teach her a lesson.
Even the Crown Prince watched her from afar while holding a wine cup.
She was so ashamed and angry that she returned to her tent. I followed behind her like always and returned to the tent too.
Xu Fengwan's request was simple. She wanted me to change into her clothes and properly humiliate the young ladies who had laughed at her earlier.
I naturally agreed.
There was even a trace of satisfaction in my heart.
Every time I took off my own veil and changed into Xu Fengwan's clothes I felt true freedom and happiness.
The Six Arts I learned in my place of the gentleman were all things I had studied for her. So riding and archery were not difficult for me.
I easily became the focus of the entire field. Xu Fengwan dressed as a maid furiously pinched the soft flesh on my waist.
The Crown Prince also changed into riding clothes smiled slightly and walked over to invite me to hunt deeper in the hunting ground.
Xu Fengwan also wanted to follow but the Crown Prince stopped her. He smiled on his mouth but his eyes were unclear. “The Xu family maid is becoming more and more lacking in manners. You must discipline her well.”
Just like that Xu Fengwan watched me follow the Crown Prince into the deeper part of the hunting ground.
