Chapter 7 A Bitter Aftertaste
I woke up the next day with my entire body aching.
Staring at the kiss marks all over me, I stayed silent for a long while.
I pulled on a sunscreen shirt to cover everything tightly.
Xie Yiran really did...
Look good and be useful.
When I was about to head downstairs, I heard Qu Yiwei's voice.
"Xie Yiran, you... and Xue Ling are together?"
I stopped in my tracks and held my breath instinctively.
In the next second, his teasing voice rang out.
"No."
"If we were together, we would have been from the beginning. Why wait until now?"
Qu Yiwei exhaled softly.
"Oh, I thought..."
I didn't listen any further and went straight back to my room.
Xie Yiran had it all figured out, it seemed.
If we had any feelings, we would have been together long ago.
Last night was really a crazy mistake!
I ignored the faint gloom in my heart.
I let out a sigh of relief.
It was fine.
I could just treat it as a one-time thing with a male model.
No need to take responsibility for anyone.
It was good like that.
So I texted Cheng Yilan and the others.
After packing my things at home, I headed back to school.
After school started, I ate and drank as usual.
Just as if nothing had happened.
In the cafeteria, Cheng Yilan couldn't hold back and asked me.
"You two had a fight last night?"
"?"
"His performance wasn't good?"
"??"
"Or—"
I covered her mouth with my hand.
"It was just that we were simply not compatible!"
Cheng Yilan looked puzzled.
I sighed in my heart and didn't want to lose face.
I could only say with a tough attitude, "Mainly because I met a better man."
"Xie Yiran? Humph, what's so great about him?"
A cold snort came from behind.
"Hmph."
"That night, you weren't saying that."
A chill slowly spread up my spine.
I turned my neck stiffly.
He stood in front of me in a black expedition jacket, looking displeased.
At this moment, his striking looks still caught my eye despite the tension.
