16. Chapter 16
Frank
This morning I woke up with a smile on my face.
I’d had phone sex before, but nothing like last night with Edie.
My dad always told me, when you know, you know . I thought he was full of shit, to be honest, but here I am. And I know .
I made my way to the bathroom and took a quick shower before heading to the diner for breakfast. The moment my hand landed on the door, I saw her taking an order and my dick swelled in my pants.
Hurrying in, I took my seat at the counter and nodded at Big E. “Mornin’”
“Mornin’” He nodded. “SOS?”
“That works.” I flipped my cup over and Edie appeared, filling it up.
“Good morning, Frank.” She smiled, and I saw her cheeks turn pink.
“Good morning, beautiful.” I caught her hand and stroked my thumb against her skin. “Sleep well?”
“I did.” She set the coffeepot down. “You?”
“Good but not as good as the night I spent with you.”
She giggled and went to wait on another table. Today she moved with a relaxed grace that I’d not seen before.
I was about to take a drink of coffee when Evie came over and leaned close to me. “Thought you might find the humor in this. Matt is upset because Edie’s going on a date Friday night. Edie’s worried about how you and Matt will get along. And the rest of us are popping popcorn to watch this unfold.”
Setting my cup down, I tried to hold in the laughter.
“Right?” Evie laughed. “This is gonna be epic.”
She wandered off to bus some tables and Edie served me my breakfast in between other orders.
“Hey.” Big E leaned close to the window. “Can you cook?”
Confusion filled me. “Yeah. Why?”
“Someone thinks you eat here so much because you can’t.” He winked.
“I’ll take care of that.” I nodded and finished my breakfast.
I threw some bills on the counter and made my way to work.
When I got to my office, I saw Matthew sitting outside my door. “Matt? You okay?”
He jumped up and ran over to me. “My mom has a date. What if she marries him?”
“When is her date?”
“Friday.” Panic filled his face.
“It can’t happen that fast.” Unlocking my office, I motioned for him to go in. “Have a seat, son.” I hung up my coat and took a seat. “People can get married overnight, yes. But most people don’t rush. Does your mom do things on a whim?”
“That means without thinking, right?”
“Yes.”
“No.” He shook his head and then stopped. “Well, sometimes.”
I sat back in my chair. “Give me an example.”
“Well, like last week, instead of cooking dinner, she decided we could order pizza. That was on a whim.”
“You’re not wrong. But I mean something big.” I held my hands up. “Like massive.”
“Hm. Like buying me a game system?”
“Yeah, like that. Does she do things like that without thinking about it for a while?”
“No.”
“See.” I smiled. “And? Do you think she would just up and marry someone without them meeting you and you giving approval?”
He sighed. “No.”
“So where’s the worry?”
Matthew sat there for a moment. “What if Frank doesn’t like me?”
“How could he not?”
He frowned. “My dad knew about me and never got to know me, and he just decided I wasn’t worth being around.”
Scratching my beard, I knew if I ever ran into that motherfucker, I’d lay him out. No one should ever make a kid feel this way.
“Matt.” I sat up. “Do you trust me?”
His little head bobbed.
“Good. I bet when you meet Frank, he’ll love you.”
“How do you know?”
I shrugged. “You’re a great kid, and I like you.”
He smiled at me and perked up a bit. “I like you too, Doc.”
“Feel better?”
“A little.” He twisted his lips, a quirk I’ve seen Edith do many times. “Are you still going on your date Saturday?”
“I am.”
“What are you going to wear?”
I can’t wait to see how this plays out.
“I didn’t think about that. What do you think I should wear?”
“Hmmm, something kinda dressy. Like jeans and a button-up shirt like a flannel and a bowtie.”
“A bowtie?” My eyebrows moved up into my hairline.
“Yeah. Gotta be fancy, Doc, to impress her.” He nodded emphatically.
“Alright. Bow ties are classy. Does it have to be a flannel?”
“Hmmm, no. Could be whatever I guess.” He shrugged. “But you need the bowtie.”
“I’ll pick one up today.”
He gave me a thumbs up as the first bell rang. “Gotta go, Doc. See you for P.E.!” he dashed out of my office, but then came back running around my desk to throw his arms around my neck. “Thanks for the man-to-man talks.”
“Anytime, son.” I hugged him back.
With that, he ran off, leaving me alone in my office.
He’s gonna flip when he finds out I’m Frank.
Spent the last two nights talking to Edith before bed and tonight was our date night, which means tomorrow the cat’s outta the bag.
I sat at the counter in the diner, eating some creation Big E sent out for me to try. Our friendship slowly morphed into me being his guinea pig for food.
“This one’s good, E.”
“Like add to the menu good? Make it a special good? Or just good?”
I looked up at him. “What the hell’s the difference?”
Edith came over and refilled my coffee. “What’s up?”
“He likes this concoction.” Big E motioned to the plate before me.
“Okay … is it add to the menu good, or do it as special good or just on request?”
“What is it with you people?” I sat back. “I’m a Marine, not a critic.”
Edith laughed, and the sound went straight to my dick. I loved making this woman smile, laugh, moan, move.
I loved this woman.
“Still on for six?”
“I’ll be ready.”
I winked at her just to see her cheeks pink up in a blush. Pointing down to the plate with my fork, I looked at Enoch. “I would try it as a special and see how it sells before adding it to the menu.”
“Aww, and he said he’s just a Marine.” Edith teased.
“Tonight, Edith.” My eyebrow raised. “It’s on.”
Her eyes glazed over and filled with lust. “Don’t tease.”
“Ain’t no teasin’ here.” I waved the fork.
She gave me a wink. “I’ll see you tonight, Francis.”
I watched as she sashayed through the door to the back.
“Enoch. Your sister …”
“Dude.” He put his hands up. “I don’t need deets. But you better do right by her and …” He trailed off.
Nodding, I put my fork down. “You have my word.”
“Better talk to the father before you go too far too.” He gave me a firm look. “If you get what I’m laying down.”
“I’m picking it up.”
“Good deal.” He nodded and turned to go back to the kitchen. “Betta’ get to school, Doc.” He kept his voice low as he winked at me.
I scribbled a note for Edith, threw down some bills, and headed to work. This already felt like the longest day in history.
Edith
The appointment my sister made for me was wonderful. My hair got a healthy trim and now I’m rocking highlights. Marina styled me with big sexy curls and now I’m sitting naked on my bed.
Matthew went to my parents’ after school. He left me a note that said he hoped I had fun.
Me too, kid.
I am stuck somewhere between excitement and nervous as I ran through a checklist.
Washed all two thousand body parts?
Check.
Deodorant?
Check.
Shave important areas and maybe do a little landscaping even though he’s already seen it all?
Check.
Lotion to stay soft?
Check.
The dress hung there, taunting me. It’s a wrap with no buttons, zippers, clasps, or snaps. Just two places to tie it.
My sister lost her mind.
I grabbed my phone to message her.
Evie? What the hell were you thinking when you picked this dress?
Easy access.
Now get moving or you’ll be naked when Frank gets there
Unless ….
“Ugh.” I tossed my phone down.
I stared at the bra surprised that she found something so beautiful in my size. My breasts were always extra-large, but after Matthew they went up a size. The black bra had soft satin cups with a lace trim.
“Now or never, Edith.” I dropped my towel and slipped into the matching panties before donning the bra.
Damn. It’s a perfect fit.
This bra lifted my breasts up and gave me cleavage Frank could get lost in.
My phone went off with a message from Ronnie.
You got this!
Have fun tonight!
How did you know I wasn’t sure about that?
Because I know you. You’re a beautiful woman! Let him treat you as such
You just think everyone should be in love because you finally got yours
Not true
I’ve always believed everyone has a soulmate
Sap
Cynic
Let’s see how you look.
Groaning, I tossed my phone down and put on the dress. Three-quarter sleeves and it hung just past my knees.
Respectable.
Tying the inside, it covered one breast, and most of my body. Closing it and tying the outside? Everything’s covered, but my tits were on display.
Evie picked something that accentuated my curves, but made me feel skinny. As a plus sized girl, that was hard to do.
The mirror on the back of my door reflected a woman I didn’t know. My voice trembled as I talked to the woman in the mirror. “I almost recognize you.”
Older, cautious, more curves.
I went to the bathroom and did my make-up and smiled at my reflection. It’s been a long time since I’d dressed up like this. Mostly because I haven’t had a reason to.
Grabbing my phone, I took a picture in the mirror and sent it to Ronnie.
Seriously. What the hell did Evie pick?
Hubba hubba! If I didn’t like Paul’s dick so much, I’d switch teams
Ronnie. I can’t go out with my tits like this
I fail to see a problem
Shit. I wish I had those tits
I’m serious
Do you wanna make him drool and desire you more than he already does?
So much that you barely make it back home before you’re naked?
I mean it is an easy access dress
Oh! Oh! He could totally tease you through dinner
You suck
Because I’m right? Now hurry up he’ll be there soon
“Ugh.”
I hated that she was right.
Darting around my room, I got my earrings and bracelet on and then stepped into my shoes. I had time for one last look in the mirror when I heard a knock at the door.
Deep breath, Edie, you got this.
I walked to the door and took one more deep breath before opening it.
The man standing there smelled so good, and held a pink box from Sweet Buns Bakery.
“I thought flowers were cliché, so I got you cupcakes instead.”
Damn it. He found my sweet spot.
“What kind of cupcakes?”
“What’s the difference?” He raised an eyebrow.
“Spit or swallow?” I popped off without thinking and my eyes grew wide.
“At that point, the job’s done.” He stepped closer to me, wrapping an arm around my waist. “That mouth.” He growled before crushing his lips to mine.
This kiss was primal. Possessive. And I wanted more. My hormones raged, and I pulled back, taking my pink box from him.
Saying nothing, he followed me into the kitchen. I set the box on the counter and felt him behind me. His hands came around and lay flat on the counter, pinning me there.
“You look radiant tonight.” He nuzzled my neck. “And smell delectable.”
“Thank you.”
His hips pressed into my lower back. “Feel that?”
“Mm-hmm.”
“That’s all for you, baby.”
Pushing back, I pressed back against him.
“You’re playing a dangerous game, baby, because right now I can’t promise to be gentle.”
“What if I don’t want gentle?” I turned my head to see him.
“Dark chocolate cupcakes bring out the devil in you?”
“Cream cheese icing?”
“Of course.” He purred in my ear.
“Frank?”
“Yes, my love?”
“I wanna play …” I moved my hips, brushing myself against his erection. “Rough.”
He moved a hand from the counter to my hair, brushing it back, and nipped my neck. “After dinner.” His tongue darted out and flicked my earlobe as he groaned. “I’ll give you anything you want.”
Shivers ran through me, and I felt his warm breath around my ear. “Hungry?”
“Starved.”
Taking a step back, he turned me to face him, kissing me softly. “Let’s go eat.”
