Chapter 27

Chapter Twenty-Seven

WILL

Peace was finally creeping back into our lives.

It had been a week since the club took care of Sire.

We hadn’t had any issues at all. We weren’t worried about Jocelyn either.

I overheard Tech talking to Viper over the phone while he thought I was sleeping.

Apparently, she up and moved to North Carolina with her sister.

He didn’t go too into detail, but from what I gathered, she had been in a rush.

I didn’t know what caused her sudden move, but I didn’t care, as long as she wasn’t here causing problems for us.

Tonight, Tech and I were at the clubhouse celebrating our engagement with everyone. Our bachelor parties were still set to take place in Las Vegas, but that wasn’t for another two months.

I was surprised to find out that all the brothers wanted to attend. I figured a few of the single brothers would want to stay behind and enjoy the clubhouse without couples or kids.

While we were set to go to Las Vegas, Crystal planned a trip for the kids. Victoria and Smoke would be tagging along. Even Big Red’s mother, Paula, would be attending.

Just as I did, Red had a strained relationship with his mother. They had been in contact for about a year, and he had finally introduced her to the kids. I was happy for him.

I wished I could have done the same with my mother, but sometimes life didn’t go the way we wanted.

As much as I longed to be close with my mother, she no longer had the power to depress me like she did in the past. I was finally in a place where I woke up every day overjoyed.

I refused to let anyone or anything tear me down.

I was snapped out of my thoughts when I heard Bianca's cheerful voice.

“Come on, everybody, we’re supposed to be celebrating. Let’s get a round of shots!” she demanded.

Everyone turned away from her while a few sucked their teeth and rolled their eyes.

I heard Tech chuckle behind me. He was seated on a barstool while I leaned against him in between his open legs.

I peered over my shoulder and couldn’t help but return his smile.

His eyes were so bright these days. It was something I didn’t think I would ever get tired of seeing.

“Bianca, if you don’t sit your ass down. It is a damn Wednesday. I will not take shots with you when I have work in the morning. I’ll save my miserable hangover for Vegas,” Cara told her.

Madison nodded in agreement. “I’m with Cara on this. I know we’re doomed once we get to Vegas, but I am in no rush to drink with you.”

Bianca scrunched her face up, turning to Blade. He shook his head immediately. “Don’t even think about it.”

That got a few laughs around the group. Bianca folded her arms and pouted. “I just wanted to take one shot.”

Sara scoffed. “Lies! One would have turned into two and somehow ten. Don’t get mad because we won't fall for your trickery.”

Bianca smirked, shrugging her shoulders. “It was worth a try.”

Tech wrapped his arm firmly around my waist and leaned forward. “How much longer do you want to stay? I’m ready to get home,” he purred in my ear.

Goosebumps pebbled over my skin from the huskiness in his voice. I bit my lip, beyond ready to get home now. Before I could open my mouth to tell him so, Wyatt approached us.

“Hey, Will, your stepsister is at the gate. She says it’s an emergency. She’s crying and everything. Should I let her in?”

I was filled with panic. If Tabitha had come here, something terrible must have happened. I spun around to face Tech. “Do you think it's my mom? What if something bad happened? What if—”

Tech grabbed my shoulders. “Calm down, Dimples. Whatever it is, we’ll face it together. Okay?”

I nodded, and Tech told Wyatt to let her in.

Alice and Oscar both came over and rubbed my arm, trying to soothe me.

I wished my roomies had come to celebrate too.

Leah was still nervous about being around the guys, so the rest of the ladies stayed home so she wouldn’t be alone.

They did promise to come to my bachelor party, so I wasn’t too bummed.

When the front door of the clubhouse slammed open, Tabitha scanned the room until she found me. She was practically hyperventilating. Her body rocked with sobs, making my chest tighten. My life had finally gotten back on track. I didn’t want any devastating news.

“Tabitha, w-what’s going on?” I asked shakily.

She hiccupped, pulling at my shirt. “You have to fix him, Will.”

My head jerked back. “Huh?”

I didn’t have a clue as to what she was talking about. Since she said “him,” I knew this visit wasn’t about my mother. That made me breathe a little easier.

“Jeff. You have to fix him!” She screamed like a psycho.

What the fuck? This was about Jeff?

I didn’t know what made her think that I would give a single fuck about Jeff. He was her problem. What the hell did she mean by fix him?

I pushed Tabitha away lightly. “Tabitha, I’m beyond confused right now. What are you talki—”

Before I could finish my sentence, Tabitha was beating on my chest with her fists balled. “I just caught him in a hotel room with another man! This is all your fault. If you hadn’t corrupted him, he wouldn’t have these unnatural desires. You need to fix him!”

“How delusional are you? There is nothing to fix! He’s gay, Tabitha!” I shouted at her.

Her face balled up in anger. “He is not!” She continued hitting my chest as I tried swatting her hands away.

Tech stepped around me and grabbed her by the wrist, wedging himself between us. “Keep your hands to yourself!” he barked at her.

“Fuck you!” Tabitha screeched. “That little bitch fucked my husband up in the head, and he is going to fix this!” Tabitha pointed at me.

Alice took a hair tie off her wrist and put her hair up in a ponytail. “You know what? I’m going to give you what you’ve been looking for, Tabitha.”

Wham.

Wham.

Alice sent two powerful slugs to Tabitha’s face, followed by a few more. Red quickly pulled her away, wrapping her in his arms. Tabitha shrieked as she fell to the floor, cupping her dripping nose. Her skirt was now above her waist. The aroma that filled the air made me scrunch up my nose.

“That’s my best friend. That’s my best friend,” Oscar sang while dancing in place. That caused a few giggles from the ladies.

Even with a bloody nose, Tabitha still wasn’t deterred. She shot to her feet and made her way toward me again. She halted her steps when she felt the cold steel of a gun pressed to her forehead. Cara stood there with nothing but rage in her eyes.

Tabitha raised her hands in the air, shaking from fear.

“Close your goddam legs!” Cara ordered angrily. Tabitha pressed her legs together, and Cara tapped her forehead with the gun. “More! I want them bitches sealed tighter than a vacuum sealed bag!”

“I-I’m s-sorry. I’ll leave. I swear.” Tears streamed down Tabitha’s face.

I couldn’t even feel bad for her. I mean, what the hell did she expect coming here? I knew she’d been so used to taking her anger out on me over the years, but if she didn’t get it together, she would find herself in an early grave.

“Bitch, shut up!” Cara snapped. She turned to me, brows dipped low. “Why the fuck does she always have on a skirt?”

I chuckled but then stopped when I saw how serious she was. “I don’t know, Cara.”

“I should shoot her ass. She’s trying to poison us with that sewer box between her legs. I can feel my skin breaking out in hives,” Cara said.

“Please, no!” Tabitha begged. She was bawling like a baby.

“Eww. Is that what that fuckin’ smell is?” Axel asked with his hand over his nose.

Tabitha looked down, embarrassed. I pressed my forehead to Tech’s back as I tried to hold in my laughter. When we were younger, I tried telling her she was a little tart down there, but she always assumed I was only saying that because we didn’t get along.

“Yeah, that’s her musty pussy you’re smelling. I’m so tired of you coming around releasing these toxic-ass fumes around me. I should end you right now,” Cara gritted.

“Shoot her, Twin!” Oscar cheered from beside me.

“Oscar!” Viper hissed at him. “Do not encourage her.” He stepped up to Cara and patted her shoulder. “Let her make it, Hellcat. I think she’s got the picture now.”

Tabitha’s head bobbed up and down. “I do. I swear you will never see me again.”

Cara clenched her jaw. “Listen to me carefully. If I ever find out you’re fucking with Will in any way, I will kill you. Hell, if I ever see you, you'd better run the other fucking way because I will kill you. Do you understand?”

“Y-yes,” she replied as her lips wobbled.

“Get the fuck out of here,” Cara ordered.

Tabitha spun around and walked fast toward the door. I guess it wasn’t fast enough for Cara. She fired two shots near Tabitha’s feet, making her cry out before running as fast as she could.

Right as the door slammed, everyone burst into laughter. “Cara, did you really tell that girl her pussy was musty?” Thor chortled, holding his stomach.

“It is!” she insisted. “Got my skin crawling and shit. I need to go take a shower.” Cara shivered, making her way up the steps with Viper behind her.

After all the commotion died down, I spun Tech around and threw my arms around his shoulders. “Now, what were you saying about getting home?”

He smiled deviously. “I can show you better than I can tell you.”
