Chapter 26 #2
“Same, sis.” Cara held her fist out for a pound. “They really tried to burn a bitch alive.” She snickered.
Sara giggled, nodding her head. “I know, right? After that debacle, I’ll never understand that saying, people in hell want ice water. If hell is that hot, what the fuck is water supposed to do?”
They both fell out in laughter while the rest of us looked at them like they were insane. The girls were truly in rare form tonight.
Cara cracked her neck. “It’s okay, though.
Because these two are about to find out just how hot someone can get.
” She and Sara removed the disciples’ gags while giving them devious smirks.
Cara leaned over in front of one of them as he shied away in fear.
“I remember when I saw you throw that Molotov through the window. You had such a bright smile on your face.”
“Please—”
“Don’t beg. It’s useless.” She turned to the other one. “And you winked while dumping kerosene into the fire. Well, let’s see how happy you are in about five minutes.”
The girls went over to one of the cabinets, and both produced a gas canister. Every single brother moved further back in the room. I knew they were going to go hard, but this right here was not what I was expecting.
They started pouring what smelled like gas on them from head to toe. Bear flanked them, holding a fire extinguisher. I guess he knew the plan all along. By the time the girls were done dousing them in the liquids, both men were a blubbering mess.
“Before I light your asses up like the Fourth of July, I want to give you a little story time.” She hopped on top of the steel table, crossing her legs while Sara leaned against it.
“Back when I was eight, my triplet Torch and I, who is right over there…” she paused and pointed at him.
He shook his head, staring at his sister, bewildered. “Had a fascination for fire.”
“Really?” Viper inquired with a tilted head. “You never told me that.”
Cara sighed. “I know. I try not to think about that.
The punishment was so not worth the crime.
But, any who. One day, we were lighting up my mother's plastic plants. If you’ve never done that shit, trust me, it's fun. They spark up, giving you a rush. Torch ended up dropping his when the flames grew too fast. We stomped it out, but it left a huge burn mark on the carpet.” Cara side-eyed Torch, and he smacked his teeth, making most of us laugh.
She paused to take a drink of water while the rest of us sat here and listened to her tell this story. To be honest, I wanted to see where she was going with this.
“When my mom came in and saw that shit, woo, let me tell you, she invented the phrase boots to ass. I never had the urge to touch fire again after that. Torch, not so much. Hence the road name. But that night, as I watched you two trap me in a burning building, my desire for fire was ignited again. So, as a thank you, I figured you two should be the first things I set on fire.”
Axel doubled over in laughter. “Yo, her ass is certifiably crazy. Did she really say she was going to thank them by setting them on fire?”
Cara and Sara approached them, holding a matchbox. They took out a match, stroked it across the box, and threw it on them.
Their bodies were engulfed in flames immediately. All you could hear were the screams of agony.
“Burn, baby! BURN!” Cara cheered while sounding like the Grinch when he set that Christmas tree on fire. It didn’t help that her ass started jumping and clapping.
“My poor god babies,” Thor muttered, referring to Cara’s children. “They’re doomed.”
That made everyone within earshot boom with laughter. I pray she doesn’t pass this crazy gene down to her kids. If so, the world was in trouble.
Once both men were dead, Bear extinguished them until the flames were out. They were burned to a crisp. When Cara turned to Jason, he gulped. “Hey, Armor! Come here for a second,” she ordered.
He took a deep breath before making his way over to her. “Cara, this is your thing.”
“Yeah, I know, but I just wanted to tell you this is the guy who choked Sof and held a gun to her hea–”
Before she could finish, Armor pulled his gun from his waistband, letting off five shots into Jason’s head, and walked away.
“Damn, you didn’t want to drag it out even a little bit? See if I ever let you help me again.” She frowned at him.
Since Sire was the only one left, I stepped up beside her. “Don’t kill him. That’s my job.”
“I can work with that.” She went over to her briefcase, and I turned my attention back on Sire.
He gritted his teeth, knowing the end was near. “I am the son of GOD! You will not get away with this. You all will pay for your sins. Jesus always—”
“Prevails,” I finished for him. “You really are a broken record. Sire, there is nothing righteous about you. The same God you talk about serving was loving and kind. Two things you wouldn’t know a thing about.
You’re just a sick individual who gets off on making others bow to him while giving nothing but pain in return.
I hope you rot in hell.” I faced Cara. “Are you ready?”
“Allen…” Sire called me by my given name. “This is between the two of us.” I noticed how his gaze nervously shot to Cara.
Wait a minute. Was this motherfucker actually scared of Cara?
“Don’t be frightened. I promise to be gentle,” Cara cooed.
“Don’t believe shit she’s saying! There will be nothing gentle about whatever her ass is about to do,” Thor shouted.
Cara giggled. “You know me so well, best bud.” She beamed. Locking her gaze with Sire, she asked, “Any last words?”
He closed his eyes and swallowed. “Our father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy….”
“Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven,” Cara joined him.
His eyes shot open as she stared at him, amused.
“Saying that prayer doesn’t make you any less evil.
” Opening her briefcase, she pulled out a whip that looked like it had shards of glass attached to it.
Cara was about to give Sire a dose of his own medicine.
She approached him as if he were prey. “Give us this day our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.”
Crack!
Cara slung the whip across Sire’s chest. He screamed in pain. “And lead us not into temptation but deliver us!”
Crack!
The whip wrapped around his torso, taking away chunks of flesh.
“Deliver us from evil.”
Crack!
Cara finished the prayer while Sire begged and pleaded like I used to.
The crazy part about this was that it was more than déjà vu for me.
I was tight-lipped about the punishments Sire had given me.
The only thing I told everyone was that he gave me lashings.
What I didn’t tell them was that Sire used to recite this prayer while doing it.
Talk about karma.
By the time Cara was finished, Sire was covered with lash wounds. He was losing blood quickly. I pulled my gun and aimed it at his head. Sire raised his head, looking into my eyes. He opened his mouth to say something, but I pulled the trigger.
The moment that the bullet left the chamber and entered his head, emotion finally swept over me.
Relief.
It was over. He wasn’t coming back to cause more pain in my life, and I got to watch him suffer. After all his years of torment, physically and emotionally, I was finally able to see him on the receiving end of it.
No, it didn’t change what happened or what I went through, but it was exactly what I needed to close that chapter in my life.
Sire tried breaking me. For some time, he had. I’ll give him that. Will and this club helped put me back together. In the end, I won. Cody too. We were both living our lives full of happiness, while Sire would be rotting in the dirt where he belonged.
