Chapter 26

CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX

I watched her sleep most of the night, thinking about us and not us.

And I can’t see myself without August, in some form or fashion, even if that’s being friends, at least I have her.

But I don’t want to be friends; I want to worship her body, laugh with her, make memories, and build a life together.

Texting Kai was my next step. I need to let my parents know and that I have it all under control now. I can’t hold on to this anymore.

Wrecking my motorcycle was the scariest thing I’ve ever done. The pure panic that set in when I realized I was going down and unable to do anything; I don’t want to ever be in a situation like that again. How do people just get back on their bikes?

The door opens, my mom’s gray head of hair popping in, “You wanted to talk to us?”

I wave her in; my father and brother follow behind her, before they all three stand around my hospital bed.

I can tell that Kai knows I’m fixing to let our parents in on the shitshow I’ve been dealing with for almost two years.

“I don’t want you to panic. I’ve taken care of it, and there's nothing to worry about.” My dad slowly blinks as my mom takes the chair that August occupied last night.

I gave them the entire story and let them hear the recording I was able to get. My dad is seething by the time I’m done. My mother is crying, and Kai is pacing back and forth in the room.

“Why did you keep this to yourself, son?” My father comes closer to me.

“This was a mess I got you in; I couldn’t let you worry about it. I knew somehow, some way, I was going to fix it.” I tell them truthfully.

“And how was that, marrying a girl you didn’t love, living a life that was forced upon you because you didn’t want to have us in a panic? Bohdi, I want to wring your neck. We’re family; we take things on together.” My mother cries.

Kai comes to the foot of the bed, resting his hands on the hard plastic footboard. “It’s done?”

I try to push myself up further on the bed, hissing out when the cover rubs my wound. “Yes.”

“Then, this is it. This is the last time we speak of this. Everything goes back to normal.” Kai raises his eyebrow at me, and I know what he’s speaking about. The distance is no more.

I nod my head. “I agree.”

My mom stands up, leaning over the sidebar.

She hugs me, kissing me on my cheek. “I love you, son. But never keep stuff to yourself. But thank you for wanting to protect your father and I.” She backs away, allowing my father to take her place.

His words are a little more slurred nowadays, but he’s still the man he was before the stroke.

“I want my boys back together.” He looks from me to Kai.

“We will be.” I smile at my brother.

Never did I think life would turn upside down like it did. My family and I have always been close, but I knew if I didn’t distance myself, I’d implode and with it take them with me. I had to protect them and fix it. And fix it I did.

I smile at August while I’m wheeled out of the hospital. They wouldn’t let me walk. She looks beautiful, even with her tired eyes and crazy bun; she’s still beautiful.

“If you need anything, just let me know.” She bends down and kisses my cheek, her lips touching the side of my mouth.

I’m going to Kai’s house for a few weeks, heal up there, and then on to finding my own place in town.

We took the boat back to Driftwood Bay after our Uber. August went her own way even though we all tried to talk her into coming with us.

Baylee and Kai gave me the downstairs den, which has a pull-out sofa, since walking up steps hurts too much.

I’ve been here for a week, feeling better than I did, but now my road rash is scabbing up and itching like hell. Stretching the wrong way pulls the scabs, breaking them open. It’s a pain in the ass.

The house is quiet as I lay in bed, the only sound is the noise the house makes here and there… The house? Maybe a ghost? I can’t think about it too much. Even though I’m a man, ghosts still freak me out.

Tapping my phone, the screen lights up, and my only thought is August. She’s came by and checked on me, like a friend. But other than that, it’s been nothing more.

Baylee has been going to the bakery to help her, so August has no real reason to come to the Manor.

After clicking on our messages, I sit and read them for a minute, trying to find the nerve to message her. It’s hard to tell what August wants. Does she want to be just friends, or is there a chance we could be more?

You should come over and see me.

Hitting send before I chicken out.

I wait, but nothing happens. Twenty minutes pass, and my phone chimes.

You should put all your energy into healing.

I smile; she’s such a smart ass.

I have enough energy to do that and do you.

I chuckle, imagining her face as she reads the text.

The text bubbles pop up and then disappear. “Oh, come on now, August.” I talk to the screen.

I push my body up on the bed when I see the bubble pop back up.

Unlock the door; I don’t want them to know I’m there.

She finally replies.

Smiling, I push myself up off the bed, hissing a bit, but scurry to the front door, unlocking it and cracking it open.

It’s unlocked and ajar; come into the den.

I know where you're sleeping at, Bohdi.

I feel like a damn teenager, the excitement coursing through me at knowing she’s coming here to see me; it’s ridiculous.

Hurrying back to the den, I sit on the bed, watching the time on my phone, and it passes slowly.

My palms become slick and my heart races.

What the hell is wrong with me? And I don’t have to ask myself that, because I know what it is.

After eight years, I got a hit of August, and now I’m craving more.

Finally, I lay back on the bed, my feet on the floor, staring up at the ceiling, marveling at the intricate details carved in the molding.

I feel like I’m being stared at. Lifting my head from the mattress, I say, “Holy shit.” I grab my chest. August stands at the foot of the bed, smiling at me, her face mischievous.

“Boo!” She blows out to me.

Sitting up, I maneuver myself to the edge of the bed and watch her turn back to the den door, shutting it quietly.

Turning to me, her hands still on the doorknob behind her, she stands in a light green summer dress adorned with little white polka-dots.

Swallowing, I track her as she takes tentative steps from the door to the end of the bed, stopping right in front of me. I spread my legs farther apart, and she steps between them.

Her hand reaches out and touches the scruff I’m now sporting on my face. “I like this,” She whispers to me.

My hand reaches out, touching her inner leg, just above her knee.

I watch her suck her bottom lip into her mouth, letting my fingers keep trailing under the dress. Her breath hitches, which just eggs me on even more.

“You’re all I’ve been thinking about, August. I don’t want to be just friends.

It’s not right to want to fuck your friends.

And I want to fuck you, August.” I growl out to her, my words nothing but the truth.

Grabbing her hand, I bring it to my lips, kissing each of her fingers before sucking her index finger into my mouth.

“Oh, okay.” She mewls.

I look up at her, and her eyes are closed. “Open them, look at me.”

She slowly opens them, hunger reflecting back at me.

Letting her hand drop, I roam mine up both sides of her legs until I get to her panties, pulling them down, the whole time not breaking eye contact.

I see her neck bob up and down with a swallow.

Her blue thong falls to her feet. Lifting the front of her sundress up, I marvel at her pussy that’s right in front of my face. Moving in closer to it, eyes still connected, I let my hot breath blow over her. “Do you want me to fuck you, August?”

Her eyebrows furrow, mouth falling open, “Yes.” She moans.

Poking my tongue out, I gently swipe from her pubic bone, down her pubic hair and over her clit. Her hand comes to my shoulder, squeezing.

While still trailing my tongue up and down over her clit, which barely peeks out between her folds, I pull my boxers down, lifting my ass and down my legs; my dick springs free. “Take your dress off.” I break contact with her.

In seconds, the dress is pulled up and thrown on the floor, leaving her naked body standing in front of me as I marvel at the way her breasts hang, full and round.

Using both my hands, I spread her lips, pulling back, revealing her clit.

Pink and perfect. The pink bulbus flesh alluring.

I don’t give her a heads up before I suck it into my mouth.

Her moan rips loudly from her lips before she throws the hand she’s not using on my shoulder over her mouth to stifle her moans.

The taste of her explodes on my taste buds, addicting and something only August’s. I feverishly start licking her, my tongue roaming between her folds, spreading them apart.

Her hand tightens on my shoulder, and she starts grinding against my tongue. I let her for a few moments until I pull away from her. August widens her eyes, her mouth opening to say something, but I stop her with my words, “Ride me.”

She smiles seductively at me before she straddles my legs, my dick hard as a rock, pre-cum sitting on the tip.

Her hand comes between us, holding my shaft, and slowly gliding the tip of my dick from her clit to her entrance.

I attack her mouth, and she cries into it when she lowers herself onto me all the way to the hilt.

She’s slow at first, but then she begins to bounce.

I pull her bottom lip with my teeth all the while, ignoring the sting of her leg brushing my injury, concentrating on the way she squeezes me with each glide up and down.

Letting her lips loose, I grab her breast, squeezing them. August throws her head back, grinding even harder onto me, while I quietly praise her before sucking in a nipple before I let it loose.

Lifting her head up, “I’m going to come.” She pants.
