Chapter 24 – Andie

ANDIE

The next morning, I overslept and was woken by Morgan ringing on the doorbell.

I padded down the hallway in my baby blue matching pyjama set and opened the door.

Squinting my eyes at the sunlight, though I could see those amazing bright blue eyes staring at me.

He wore his neon orange swim shorts and a plain, black t-shirt.

“Morning.” I turned and walked back down the hallway. There was nothing left to say.

“Uh, Andie?”

“Yeah?” I glanced around and my stomach somersaulted. I pressed my hands on it.

“Baz and I talked. He said he saw you last night and he said… he said you haven’t been well. How are you feeling?” He was staring at my face and not moving. What was wrong with him?

“Oh, still a bit off today, but better than I was last night. Thanks.” I walked away, wondering what else Baz had told him from last night as Morgan seemed different today, a little… happier?

“Andie.”

“Yeah?” I spun too quickly, and my stomach rolled again. I closed my eyes, willing the nausea to pass and placed my arm on the wall to steady myself.

“You do know you’re not wearing bottoms, right?” There was a small smile on his lips as he pointed to my lower half.

I looked down. He was right, I didn’t have bottoms on. I remembered being too hot in the night and taking them off. Thankfully, I still had my panties on and my pyjama top.

“Shit, I’m so sorry. I was too hot in the night and kicked them off. I forgot.” I wished a hole would open up and swallow me. I felt the blush burn its way up my chest and onto my cheeks.

“Hey, all good with me. It’s a very good way to start my morning.” He winked and grinned at me, before moving off to the library.

Seeing him smiling at me again made my stomach feel all fluttery and not in the horrible way I’d been feeing lately.

I grabbed a quick shower and made toast which I nibbled on as I looked up flights on the internet.

I found that we could get one that same night at nine.

I texted the girls to see if it was okay with them, then called Kate.

“Morning, hun.”

“Morning. So, I’m going out to the villa for a week with the girls, do you want to come?”

“Are you serious?” She gasped down the line.

“Yep. Flights are at nine tonight. You only need a little spending money, flights are on me, and the villa is fully stocked at all times. I just need a little fun in the sun, you know.”

“I know, love. Let me ask Nolan and I’ll call you back.”

The toast seemed to have settled my stomach.

I was starting to feel excited. I threw open my walk-in wardrobe doors and dragged out my carry-on bag, packing it quickly.

I only had a few items to take as I had a full wardrobe already out there.

I pulled on joggers, grabbed my keys off the side, picked up my phone and padded my way along the hallway down to Jonathan’s section.

I tried to open the door next to library, which led to his side of the house, but it was locked.

I pressed on our interior doorbell and waited, listening to Morgan singing along to the music on his phone.

“Hey, all okay?” Jonathan looked red in the face and his hair was all messed up. I heard a woman’s voice in the background and smirked at him.

“Yeah, just wanted to know if you can cover for me in the club this next week? I’m going to the villa with the girls.”

“Yeah, no problem. She has the squirty cream out.” He looked back into his side. “Gotta go. Love you, have fun, be safe,” he told me and closed the door.

I heard the lock click into place. Then I received a text from Kate.

K: Nolan said yes. I’m in, eeek!

A: Fab. Get packing will pick you up at five.

I replied unable to keep the smile off my face.

K: Has he told you about Brooke and Charlie?

A: No, what’s happened?

K: It’s best he tells you, love.

I quickly booked the flights for the four of us and took a deep breath. I hoped something bad hadn’t happened with Charlie. I knocked on the library door before entering.

Morgan had taken off his t-shirt and was sawing through a long plank of wood. I had full view of his perfectly sculpted chest and abs. I licked my lips, lost for a moment in thoughts of that chest pressed against my bare chest as he pumped into me, my fingers raking my nails down his back.

“You don’t have to knock, it’s your house, you know.”

“Uh, what? Sorry.” I snapped out of my erotic memories.

He smirked and put his t shirt back on, and a stab of disappointment hit me in the chest.

“I said, you don’t have to knock because it’s your house.”

“Oh yeah, I should know that.” My mind was struggling to remember what I had gone in there for.

“You need me for something?” He leant against the chair and took a long pull of water.

I did need him; I needed him to sit on the chair naked and let me ride his cock until we were both screaming each other’s names.

“Morgan to Andie, come in Andie,” he said, laughing as I snapped back to him once again. “What is up with you today?” he asked.

“I don’t know, sorry. So, your mum said something has happened with Charlie? Is he okay?”

“Uh, yeah. Brooke was arrested. Drugs in the house, the wrong type of people around my son. We’ve got him at Mum’s. I’m putting in for full custody of him. Know of any good family solicitors?”

“No, but I know a few good divorce ones.” I smiled weakly and he returned it, but let out a huge sigh.

He was going through something huge, and I hadn’t been there for him, “Look, seriously, I know we aren’t…

well, we aren’t anything anymore.” My voice cracked, and I swallowed.

“But I’m always here for you, Morgan. For anything, going with you to the solicitor’s office, filling out paperwork, anything, okay? I still care about you.” I looked down.

“I still love you, too,” he replied, his voice low.

My heart thumped in my chest. “So, if I can be there for you, to help or just offer emotional support, please let me know.” I reached out and squeezed his arm.

“I will need help; I’m drowning in paperwork and phone calls. Thanks.”

“As soon as I’m home, I will help with anything and everything. And you can always text me, anytime. I’m going away to the villa for a week. Here’s the spare key, just let yourself in and lock up after you.” I unhooked a key off my keyring and handed it to him.

“Can I ask who you’re going with?” His voice had gone lower in volume and his eyes looked sad. He pocketed the key.

“Lauren, Betty, and your mum.” I smiled. “A nice, girly break.”

“Sounds like fun.” He had brightened up a little.

“Shit, I hope so. I need it after this…” I was going to say last couple of months but suddenly felt awkward.

“Yeah, I know how you feel.” He gave me a sad smile.

“Hey, maybe you and Baz could use it for his stag party?”

“Yeah?” His face lit up.

“Yeah, of course. Just don’t trash my villa.”

“We would never.” He grinned at me. It felt good to be talking and smiling with him again. “Baz said you both had a good chat last night?” He gave me that sweet smile again and his eyes twinkled.

“Yeah? He did have a few things to say. He’s a good friend to you.”

“He is, but I’m more interested in what you said to him.” He took a step closer to me and licked his lips.

“I’ll bet you are.” I smiled back, before we could say anything else my phone started to ring. It was Betty, I pressed the button to silence the ringtone. “I have to go, gotta pack and get my passport ready.” I gave him an excited smile.

“Yeah, okay. Have fun, look after my mother and be safe, please?” he said.

“I will, I promise. Just sun, sea and—”

“Sex?” he finished, looking down.

“No, Morgan, no sex. I haven’t looked at another man since you and I’m not interested in starting now. There’s nobody else. It’s always been just you.” My voice got lower, and the sentence went on until the end when it was barely above a whisper.

“Fuck this,” he said and stalked towards me.

He took me in his arms and kissed me fully on the lips, using his tongue to open my lips.

He pressed his body against mine and used his arms around my waist to pull my hips into his.

I knew this wasn’t good, not when we had just started talking again, but I didn’t want to think.

Kissing him felt right, like he was meant for me.

He put his hands under my arse and lifted me up, walking backwards and using the wall to take my weight as his hands explored under my shirt, never breaking the kiss.

My hands were in his hair as I gave the rest of me to him.

“Fuck, baby. I’ve missed you.” He thrust against me.

“Morgan, fuck, I need you so bad.” I panted as his mouth found his way to my neck and sucked it hard.

My phone started ringing again and too quickly for my liking, he broke off the kiss. Gentle hands lowered me to the floor. My chest heaved, and my eyes searched his.

“Well, I should get back to work.” He turned and started placing more shelving up.

“Morgan,” I said, my voice just above a whisper.

“Don’t worry. I’ll be here when you get back,” he replied and put the music back on his phone.

Guess that was the end of the conversation, then. What the fuck was that? I walked away on shaky legs, my finger resting on my swollen lips.
