Ambitious research assistant Calliope Wright is offered the chance to study a living alien, and she enters the creature’s cell determined to prove she is more than a notetaker.

The head scientist has another use for her: he intends her to be the hungry extraterrestrial’s next meal.

Locked inside with fierce, protective Subject X-11, known as X, she tries to survive by seducing a being who still regards her as food.

Each day he refuses to eat her brings him closer to starvation, and Calliope grows less sure that her affection is only an act.
