Outtake Giving Advice
Blade was watching Haley from afar. I felt three people approaching, but I knew they were Hackura. I had a solid guess as to who they were. I turned to face Alexander’s Guard. A smile lit across my face, and I laughed at them as they came up to me.
I said, “Is trouble.” Gordon said, “We know you can speak perfect English, Blade.” I acknowledged, “That is true. I’m guessing you are here about being charged with guarding the Fairy-like wolf.” Egres said, “Yes. If anyone knows about guarding someone who is difficult to guard, it’s you.”
I declared, “You’re screwed. Accept it and start to anticipate her moves. The more you get to know the Duchess, the easier it will be. You have to think like her, and that’s not something that is easy to accomplish at all.”
Hutchins groaned. Gordon said, “Melanie’s spoken to Egres the most. I think we should have him get closer to her while we observe.” I shrugged saying, “It’s as good a plan as any. Accept that until you get in her head and anticipate her movements you’ll lose her.”
Hutchins’s jaw clenched. I pointed out, “You guard a partial Fairy who can pop away from you.” Gordon shot back, “Alexander has never popped away from us into danger. This girl runs into danger like bees flock to honey. She’s got holoports and a Demon friend who is also one of our Duke’s mate’s!”
I smirked saying, “Alexnader will pop away from you now into danger because his mate will be in danger. Also, Melanie has more than one Demon friend not mated into the family.” Gordon lamented, “She just disappears sometimes! Even from inside the damn house.” I couldn’t help but laugh.
Serion came out and put an arm around my waist. My mate commented, “My love, it’s not nice to laugh at them.
” I argued, “Someone finally understands my pain. The Fairy-like wolf is very much like the Princess. I see many similarities. I think the King will assign Egres as a floating guard for both Duke Alexander and the Fairy-like wolf. The other two will be with her unless there is a threat to him.”
Gordon snorted, “We need to tap into the Duchess’s system. She knows about all the threats against Alexander. Micah got access and there were threats we did not even know about.” Egres said, “I knew it was weird the Ring just stopped coming for him. It didn’t make any sense.”
I reasoned, “You knew Bounty Hunters were because they died before you got there.” Egres said, “We are obviously up against someone who is first of all, not used to being guarded and secondly, used to being in the background like us.”
I inclined my head saying, “That’s the fact that will help you.
The Duchess likes to be in the shadows. We live in the shadows as guards.
Use the knowledge you possess about yourself to know her.
Melanie did not train her whole life to be in the background as we did.
She learned how and had to be adept at it, but it’s not in her blood as it is in yours. ”
Hutchins sighed, “The Duke feels horrible about this. We should’ve checked on Melanie.
” I reasoned, “If you had, you would’ve seen the same things that the man Eric has on her had seen.
” Egres disagreed, “Not if we stayed and watched Melanie. We would’ve seen her take off the Fairy charm.
Alexander is our charge and we knew he liked her.
We were already planning on her being part of this family. ”
I bluntly said, “The past is the past, you cannot change it. All you can do is move forward with what you have. Melanie will be hard to guard. Eventually, you will anticipate her moves. She will run off and get hurt. When that happens, you can come and talk to me. It feels like a failure. These are strong women we guard. They are fearless, and they are not used to having help.”
Egres frowned, “Melanie’s already given us the slip, and she does get hurt a lot. It’s a double edged sword. It hurts Alexander, who we have been guarding since he was a baby. He’s family to us. It hurts him when she is hurt.”

Somehow there’s always a camera around for him, and us, to see what is happening.
Melanie’s very capable and I can’t deny I am glad that the Commander has worked with her, along with Duke Micah.

I shrugged, “The King commanded Haley.” Hutchins groaned, “Melanie’s not a Hackura.” I laughed, “And that is your problem to solve. There are ways around it. Although, I do think she’d listen to the commands of the King, because she loves Alexander and she is our Duchess.”
Gordon smiled saying, “She calls him Xander.” I laughed, “I know.” Egres commented, “Remember when he punched someone for calling him that? His eyes light up every time she says it now.” I said, “He’d still punch anyone who says it that is not her.
At least she can’t pop around. She has to be popped, shimmered, or find a holoport.
Up your cardio and try to keep up with her. That’s my advice.”
Egres said, “Keep up with a goddess wolf who is faster than any wolf we’ve ever encountered? Who is faster than the HOOD members? That’s your advice?” I smiled asking, “Are you backing down from a challenge?” They all grumbled, but I could see it in their eyes they were up for the challenge.
