17 Kayos #2

She lifted one shoulder, avoiding eye contact. “Animals are better than people. I’d rather burn the city down than the woods.”

Raphael intervened even though I began to see her side in this argument. “What did you see?”

“There’s three on the couch, and two in the kitchen.

That leaves us two in unknown locations.

” His out pleased her to not finish our conversation.

“Be safe, think smart, and always watch over your back. Even though we’re from different packs, we have family to return to.

Protect each other in there.” At her command, we were flying to the house.

It didn’t take us long to infiltrate once we knew everyone’s position.

Kashmir and I were taking down the back door together.

He let me have the honor of shoving my boot against the flimsy wood.

Coming in from the back, we were the ones they would run into when trying to bolt from those who smashed in the front door already.

Kashmir had his rifle up and immediately shot two guys in the head that came our way.

My handgun aimed at chest level, but I knew better than to take one of Kashmir’s kills.

Some of their blood splattered on the hall walls, but this part of our business never bothered me.

In all honesty, I was a man who loved tormenting our enemies.

It brought me a deep satisfaction when I broke their fingers, making them scream my name and beg for mercy.

That wasn’t happening today because we were on this mission to collect a single person.

We couldn’t see the other madness going on, but I was able to make out Kit fist fighting with one of the men.

My heart stopped in my chest when we saw it, and Kashmir paused his gun from the shock of it.

Ruthless, she took him on like a feral savage…

just like the rest of us. Her foot lifted and kicked him in the gut as she quickly pulled the knife from her vest and jabbed it to the side of his neck.

She pulled the blade out, sprayed by the blood, but never blinked as it coated her front.

Dropping the body, she turned to see us after completing the kill.

Not a drop of mercy in her stare. Not a lick of sweetness left in her, and we were starting to get a glimpse of the woman she had become in our absence.

The others handled everyone else, but I wasn’t able to stop staring at Kit.

She sashayed over to where Raphael tied up the man as he began screaming for help.

He looked barely old enough to be an adult, and I hated when they were this young in our line of work.

They didn’t have the years the bitterly cruel brought on, so their puppy stares were sometimes hindering.

“Who put the hit on all the Alphas in the city?” Kit placed her hands on the arms of the dining chair they forced him into.

An old piece of furniture made of wood with a rickety leg.

I had no doubt they had it to do something similar to their own victims. It creaked from how much he moved in it, ignoring her completely as he tried to shake himself loose.

His childish behavior only infuriated the woman, so she raised one fist and slammed it down on his nuts right on the edge of the seat.

We all listened to him screaming as she did it without mercy.

Raphael had done a good job of tying him up while we were still clearing the hall.

Kit placed her hands back to holding his wrists where they were bound to the arms as he tearfully seethed at her for what she had done.

There was a venomous glare happening between both, but Kit had the upper hand.

“I should warn you that I don’t play nice, so if you want any chance of getting out of this alive, you better start talking.”

“I’m not going to tell you a damn thing!

You’ll just kill me anyway.” Spitting, it hit Kit’s face.

She wiped it off with the back of her glove like it didn’t happen, never blinking.

Then she stepped away, quickly walking by me.

She had to for where the bathroom was located.

For just a minute, I thought she left to clean herself.

My eyes found her just in time to see her dipping her glove in the toilet that hadn’t been clean in a few days by the urine smell.

My stomach soured immediately as I caught onto what she planned.

Walking back into the living room, she shoved the dirty glove into his mouth that dripped with dirty toilet water.

The man in the chair tried to fight her, forced to take in the disgusting and vile water. He managed to bite Kit’s fingers as she shoved it deeper into his mouth. It wasn’t enough to draw blood, but we saw the indent that was now present from it.

“You want to play like that, huh.” She didn’t phrase her words as a question, her icy glare taking over.

She squatted down, and we witnessed what we wished we didn’t have to.

Taking the man’s pinky into her mouth, she bit down as hard as she could.

The man screamed in agony as Kit used her mouth against him.

It wasn’t like she bit his finger off, but I had a feeling she would’ve gone there.

When she released it after a crunch, she got up and walked away from him as he cried.

Toilet water spilled from his mouth, but she wasn’t done yet as she rifled in the kitchen drawers for something.

Coming back, I noticed she got a butcher’s knife from the drawer.

Even though she had knives in spades along her vest, she went and got something personal from his home to hurt him with.

All these little glimpses of how she behaved only told me about what she survived.

We were stupid back then, being boys who wouldn’t understand our choice did the exact opposite of what we wanted.

We didn’t claim her because we thought our world was too dark for something as sweet as her, but we forgot the monsters of our world wouldn’t keep to their word.

Without our claim, one took her and turned her into this.

It hurt me more than any word could describe.

“Just to give you a warning, I don’t feel bad when I chop body parts off.

We both know it’s gonna take me just a minute to get through that bone, so I hope you’re ready to brace yourself.

Unless, you want to start talking.” Running the dull edge along her fingers, she told him she was prepping that very technique she planned to use against him.

His eyes went wider, but there was nothing he could do. Finally understanding the drastic measures Kit would go to, he gave in. “Fine! I’ve never met him, and I don’t know where he is. But he knew you’d come here, so he said to greet you. I just know he has a big interest in you, Pussy Cat.”

One moment.

That was all I had to see when her nostrils flared in fright.

The guy smirked, knowing he delivered a coded message only she would understand.

Kit didn’t think twice as she removed the revolver from her holster, pulling the trigger to land a bullet between his eyes.

Stunned, she just killed her one and only link to who was behind this, and I could tell that Kashmir felt the same as I did.

“What the hell was that?” he asked her. “We needed him for answers!”

“And we got them,” she said while putting herself back together as though it didn’t happen.

“Raphael, take the car back to base with those who rode with you. Kayos and I will finish up by burning the cabin down. Report to Beta what we just found out. If he sent a messenger, he’s smart enough to not be where this guy remembers. ”

Raphael herded everyone out the door, handing off two things of gasoline to Kit in his exit. There was clearly something they weren’t telling us, and I hated that even more.
