38 Kayos

Like my name, chaos whirled inside of me from my torment, missing Kit.

It didn’t seem fair to suffer like this, but even worse came from knowing what she endured already.

We were gearing up to go as Anika and Turner told us the plan.

Her and her brother made the call for Rafael to stay back because this place would need a leader in the aftermath.

We weren’t sure who would be coming back from this mission, so it felt best to leave him here.

We tried making Jericho stay back with him, but our Omega refused.

He told us that Kit would go after him, so he’d be helping retrieve her.

His secret training the last couple weeks with Kit and Anika boosted his confidence.

While I adored his cuteness in thinking that would be enough, a few weeks didn’t compare to the years of hardness these other men toughened themselves through.

Ryatt added armor and bulletproof clothes to Jericho because he feared our Omega getting hurt.

Drinking a quick energy drink, I typically didn’t like these things, but I knew I needed the extra rush for what we were about to do.

Sleep had been something all were lacking these days, so I needed something to help push through.

The signal came, loading up into three cars.

We wanted to play it safe just in case one of our vans was spotted.

I joined Kashmir and Turner for the drive.

What surprised me the most? Seeing Castiel getting into a vehicle with Anika.

Once we drove out of the garage, we found another five cars on the road that began to follow, after we pulled out.

Turner hadn’t been lying when he said Castiel was committed to this cause.

Learning the vile man had been in cahoots with Kit this whole time felt a little unnerving. Still, I knew we needed the numbers.

A text sent to our phones from Castiel, and it made me question how he had all our numbers.

The man was full of secrets, ones that could get us killed.

A few of us knew he had been a good hacker, but this just solidified that.

In the message, he attached a picture of Damien Rios.

He mentioned this was our inside man and to not kill him, adding it would also hurt Kit if we did.

This life had already been hard on us with the absent years of Kit, but it hurt even more to find who she relied on in our absence.

I had to shake that out of my head for now because we had a very important mission ahead of us.

Our job, as a pack, was to extract Kit from the premises while Castiel’s men went in for the slaughter of Saul and his inner circle.

Castiel had put eyes on the building that Damien had told him, and I now knew it was Saul’s son who betrayed his father. The man in the photo with dead eyes belonged to Saul, but he helped Kit escape not once, but twice now. I didn’t know how to feel about that.

The heat signatures read a large group of men in one of the rooms on the upper floors of a warehouse. I had no doubt that’s the room they were using Kit in, and I hated it.

The second we pulled up, we saw a few people outside that were standing guard with their guns.

We had to be very careful on how we took them out because gunshots would alert the people inside of our presence.

Kashmir had the same idea as me, readying some blades from his vest to use, but Ryatt beat both of us.

Using the same crossbow as before, we watched as one pierced the Adam’s apple of the first guy.

The other man was struck through the eye a few seconds later, killing them on contact to not make any noise.

Well, the one who was struck through the throat choked to death, but no one could hear it besides those of us who watched from our vehicles.

My twin took point as he began guiding everyone to the main entrance. Castiel pointed to the camera above it and gave the okay that he must have dismantled them somehow. His skills were ones that could help any team with any mission, but he chose to never interact with any of us, being a Delta.

“Should we divide and conquer?” Ryatt asked me even though the question went to everyone.

Castiel had his handgun to take point for his team. “We should split up in the groups we came in. Each of us has a radio on the same channel, so if one runs into trouble, the nearest can go aid. It’ll be faster to maneuver this way to ensure we get everyone in the compound killed.”

Ryatt nodded to the plan because it was the one that he thought of as well. “We should probably take two groups to the top floor where all the heat signatures were coming from. My team will go there because that’s where Kit will be.”

“And mine will join you because I’m sure that’s where Saul is as well,” Castiel agreed.

It was settled then. The rest of our groups were going to have to meander through the building and take out stragglers that weren’t on the upper floor.

I knew Kashmir and Turner were bothered by the fact that they wouldn’t be helping retrieve Kit, but we also understood the larger picture at play.

We had to take Saul out of his power, and that meant destroying his men following him.

The warehouse had been a cleaner kept one because it didn’t sit by the river.

Unlike the ones Kit ran, this had a modern feel on the inside with hallways and rooms, so we were going to have to play knock knock on our quest to massacre them.

The three of us went left as the others went right where the staircase was, so we oversaw the ground floor.

Another team followed just in case a basement needed cleansed, and it made it so we could go ahead a few doors for them to do the ones behind us.

I only saw red from that point on. Turner kept kicking in the doors from his larger stature as Kashmir and I handled whoever he revealed inside each room.

Our guns had silencers on them for the sound not to be too much, but the grunts alerted a few that an unwanted presence entered their building.

One of the doors we had skipped for the other team opened as the man came out and began strangling Kashmir from behind.

He was someone who listened well to the danger, but he hadn’t been ready to see how many of us were in the hall.

Part of me wanted to shoot him and be done with it, but Kashmir had always been one for theatrics.

Even though he was being strangled, he smiled in delight as his airway cut off.

The sick fuck even allowed it to continue for an extra second before he pulled out a knife from his vest and stabbed it into the jugular that saddled next to his head.

Blood began spurting everywhere in waves, and most of it landed on Kashmir from how he turned to face the guy he stabbed.

The thin wire was still spun around his neck, relishing in the thrill of the strangling as he took out his enemy.

Once the body dropped, Kashmir turned back to us as the blood of the man coated his bronze face and shirt.

Even though his shirt was black, we could see where it dampened from the shiny hue it took, and his arms had spackled blood on them as well.

He removed the wire from his neck, and I could see the hunger in his eyes that began to brew because this was the life we all enjoyed.

Being idle for so long made us stir crazy, but this moment I could see them all relishing in the satisfaction of killing people. Not exactly science, understanding we were beasts among men, but always rejuvenating for us as we killed after being indolent for so long.

Moving on, I was the one who got tackled next.

The man came at me like a linebacker, flattening me on the ground and knocking the wind out of me.

My own heart rate jumped in excitement and adrenaline.

Most would fear fighting for their lives, but I hungered in never knowing if it would be me that he killed next.

I showed a cockiness in my abilities, so I hurried and rolled the guy over to be underneath me.

He didn't have much meat on his bones, so it surprised me that he hit me with such force. Looking down at him, I felt bad that this young boy had to die, but I also remembered whose side he chose. I didn’t even give him an extra second before placing my gun to the middle of his head and pulling the trigger.

He had closed his eyes in fear, but he didn’t scream like most would have in his position.

He tried to die with the last little bit of honor he had left.

Standing up, I found the other two eyeing what I had just done.

I could only smirk and keep moving as they followed.

Hopefully, the other group of men were having it a little easier than we were.

I was glad we were the ones on the bottom floor as we kept fighting through more men and blowing their brains out to gain access to the staircase.

We had been caged monsters for too long, so this bloodlust took over us as we rampaged through the building.
