Chapter 1 Nightgown In His Room

Fu Siyan had been away on a business trip lately. The flight back landed in the dead of night.

I lay in the bathtub, my eyes on that lace nightgown with barely any fabric.

My best friend had picked it out for me while shopping yesterday.

Thinking of the filthy things she had whispered in my ear, my face heated.

Then I remembered Fu Siyan and I were already legally married. A little mood-setting wasn't off-limits.

That thought made me firmer.

I put on the nightgown, even sprayed perfume on my wrists and behind my ears, then sneaked into Fu Siyan's bedroom.

After we got married, Fu Siyan and I had always slept in separate rooms.

Nobody would have believed it if I said it out loud. We still hadn't consummated the marriage.

I dimmed the lights in Fu Siyan's room very low.

I hid under the covers. A familiar scent wrapped around me.

I was almost asleep when movement finally came from outside.

The sound of leather shoes hitting the floor was a little jarring in the dead of night.

I clenched my hands, nervous.

But Fu Siyan didn't come back to his own room.

From the footsteps, it sounded like he had gone next door.

But that was my room, wasn't it?

From the sound of it, he twisted the doorknob on instinct, then seemed to remember something.

He stood at the doorway for a long time before he turned and came back to his own room.

Water roared in the bathroom, splash after splash, tugging at my heart.

I could even picture the droplets running down Fu Siyan's solid chest.

I had never even seen a view like that.

It made me so mad!

By the time I snapped out of it, Fu Siyan was already in bed.

He slept obediently, always staying on his own half.

Thinking of what was about to happen, I swallowed.

My hand slid along the silk sheets, inching toward Fu Siyan's side.

"Who?"

The harsh shout startled me.

The next second, a pair of strong hands yanked me out from under the covers.

In the moonlight, Fu Siyan got a clear look at my face.

The tight frown on his brow eased all at once.

"Qiao Yihe?

"What are you doing in my room?"

I didn't speak. My gaze traveled down his eight-pack.

Fu Siyan had only a bath towel slung loosely around his lower half.

His bare torso was a wide stretch of cool pale skin, the muscle lines tight.

Just like outsiders said, my Husband in this Arranged Marriage was a rare catch.

From the first glance in high school, I had thought it was a shame he hadn't gone into entertainment.
