Chapter 2 He Hit The Brakes

"You wouldn't let me pick you up at the airport. I'm not allowed in your room either?"

I pouted, a little wronged.

The man froze, then explained on instinct:

"Qiao Yihe, you know that isn't what I meant."

Fu Siyan's mouth shape was nice, round and full.

When he spoke, those lips opened and closed. My mouth went dry all of a sudden.

What was he even mumbling about?

I wanted to kiss him.

I kissed Fu Siyan's soft lips and grew bolder.

I wrapped my arms around his neck and tried to do it the way the kissing tutorials taught.

You only hate how little you've read when you need it.

I suddenly hated that I had never dated. In a real fight I was a complete amateur.

Could this really get Fu Siyan going?

A rough breath sounded in the air.

He seemed not to have expected me to be this forward. Confusion filled Fu Siyan's dark eyes.

Right when the kiss was getting good, the man suddenly cupped the back of my head.

His thin lips pulled away a little.

"Why the sudden enthusiasm?"

My face went red.

A heat I couldn't name rose in my lower belly.

Using the leverage, I straddled his lean, strong waist.

Fu Siyan's pretty eyes already looked hazy with want. He stared at me without blinking.

As if he didn't want to miss a single look on my face.

Hot.

It was really hot.

A thin flush sat on Fu Siyan's fair face. He seemed to be holding himself back hard.

"Let's have a child, Fu Siyan."

I said it softly.

The man's breathing grew heavier. He pinched my chin.

"Qiao Yihe, tell me you're serious right now."

"Your genes are this good. If I don't have a child with you, then with who?"

I smiled, playful.

My fingertips touched his chest. Fu Siyan trembled, almost too slight to catch.

The look in his eyes went cold in that instant.

"So you came to my room dressed like this, just for that?"

Fu Siyan gave a cold snort. His expression looked a little disappointed.

"Leave. I'm not your tool for having children."

I froze.

We had been so close to succeeding, and Fu Siyan slammed the brakes.

Had he gone cold turkey or what!

I watched him grab a pillow, about to walk out, and panic shot through me.

"Fu Siyan, this is Marital Duty!"

The air went quiet.

So quiet there was only the sound of me catching my breath.

The man who had been burning hot a moment ago now sounded ice-cold:

"Which duty says that once you're married, you have to have a child?"
