Chapter 7 Who Touched Her
After three rounds of drinks, almost everyone had left.
Only an intern boy from my studio was still there.
A college kid, with a head of dyed white hair.
He was so trendy he didn't look like someone who could sit still and design.
"Qiao Yihe? Can you still walk?"
My bag hung on the boy's neck. He tried to pull me up.
"Where do you live? I'll take you back."
"No need."
I waved him off.
"You go first. Someone's coming to get me."
"That won't do. I promised the others I'd get you home safe."
As he spoke, he laboriously hooked my arm over his shoulder.
He was just about to stand when the private-room door was pulled open.
I hadn't even figured out what was happening.
A sudden force shoved the boy aside before he could react.
Fu Siyan's face was black as night.
"Who told you to touch her?"
"No, I just wanted to pull her up."
The boy looked full of grievance, like he'd been wronged and had no way to explain.
"Qiao Yihe, look at him!"
Too loud. My head was about to split.
I felt a little like throwing up. I clenched a fist and thumped my chest twice.
"Fu Siyan, can you not be so rough?"
"That's a junior from my company. If you scare him off, where am I supposed to find another one this talented?"
After I spoke, Fu Siyan's face looked even darker.
"Very well. At a time like this you still dare speak for another man."
Fu Siyan's attitude kicked up the contrary streak in me.
Why?
He could invest in Lin Ximo's new drama. I said two sentences for my employee. What was wrong with that?
If I thought about it carefully, I had really failed as Mrs. Fu.
I stood up in a daze and waved the boy over.
"I want you to carry me back."
"No."
Fu Siyan answered.
The man's dark eyes sank further. He didn't look pleased.
"Provoking someone else in front of me. Qiao Yihe, do you think I'm dead?"
I was the one who was dead.
I shoved Fu Siyan on instinct. He didn't move.
No matter how I struggled, he still got me onto his back.
I couldn't help pouting. I sprawled on Fu Siyan's broad back and threw a tantrum.
"Everyone bullies me. You all bully me!"
"When did I bully you? I can't go along with you fast enough."
"You have not. Fu Siyan, you never go along with me, you bastard..."
I didn't know how long it took. I cursed myself tired.
The clean scent of aftershave on Fu Siyan made me sleepy.
I felt myself being set down somewhere very soft.
Something brushed teasingly against my lips until they began to itch. I frowned.
I pushed that annoying thing away, turned over, and fell into sleep.
