Chapter 11 His Older Brother Showed Up

My guard was so high I made a huge fool of myself.

The man who looked like Xia Yuqing laughed twice. "Don't be scared. I am Xia Yuqing's Older Brother, Xia Yulie. I have been the one contacting you this whole time."

Was that real?

I sat down carefully and studied Xia Yulie for a long time before I noticed—

The brothers only looked alike from certain angles. Overall, their styles were worlds apart.

Xia Yuqing's face was flashier, more unrestrained, wild and free on stage.

Xia Yulie's face was steadier and quieter. The longer I looked, the more he gave off that married-man air.

"Do we look alike?"

That one line snapped me awake. I looked away, awkward. "No. Not alike."

"I don't think so either." Xia Yulie had the waiter set out extra bowls and chopsticks for me.

"Xia Yuqing has played rock since high school.

I was the only one in the family who supported him.

After he entered the entertainment industry, he refused to sign with a talent agency, so I was the only one left to handle things for him. "

"That sounds exhausting."

"The family business has nothing to do with entertainment, so it cannot help him much. As his Older Brother I do not even know the industry. I dragged him down. He mixed around for a year with barely any fame, just a few albums he paid for himself."

"That is already impressive."

I meant it.

A year in and he was already showing his face. That counted as going smoothly.

"But that smoothness could not have happened without your help." Xia Yulie stared at me for a long moment. It made my skin crawl. At last he smiled. "Looks like you really do not remember me."
