Chapter 12 He Stood Beside Me

Huh?

Was I supposed to remember?

I started listing every reunion cliché I knew—

A drowning kid I saved as a child?

No. I could not swim.

A lonely classmate I helped at school?

No, no. I had never had a hobby of helping people.

Then where had we met? Think, you dead brain, think!

"Pfft." A laugh came from beside me. The culprit finally decided to explain. "A few months ago, at the Music Festival where Xia Yuqing performed, I was standing right next to you. Everyone else was cursing him for being noisy. Only you—"

"Only I was seriously shooting Xia Yuqing?"

"No. Only you were teaching me how to open a tripod."

That, he said, had been his first time being dragged on site to watch Xia Yuqing play rock. The photographer had gotten a sudden stomach bug, and he had been forced from audience to photographer.

He shot the whole set, then found out he had never hit record.

Xia Yulie went home and walked straight into Xia Yuqing's storm of "greetings."

He said he kept thinking at the time—

If only he had added that girl's contact. She had been the only professional in the whole venue shooting. At least he could have bought the video off her.

"So... shall we add contacts properly?"
