Chapter 7 The Agreement

After my fever went down, the first thing I did was contact a Lawyer.

We had invested together in some equity projects that needed to be divided up.

Besides that, the apartment by the riverside—he paid for the renovation and furniture.

We’d originally planned to live there together later.

Now it looked like he probably wouldn’t live there again either.

I planned to reimburse him double the renovation cost in cash. He’d put in so much effort.

Zhao Yu said he hadn’t been busy lately, so he stuck by my side and helped me look over the Agreement.

After a while, he curled his lip. "You’re giving way too much. Are you still not over him?"

I shook my head. "If I give more, we won’t have to go back and forth over money later. It’ll cut down unnecessary meetings."

For some reason, Zhao Yu got happy again at that.

He nodded hard. "Exactly. We don’t do messy, dragging things out."

Then he offered up what was in his hand like a treasure. "A copy of that super viral egg tart lately. Fresh out of the oven!"

My mind was still on the Agreement, so I took a bite from his hand.

I didn’t notice that the remaining half went into his mouth.

By the time I confirmed everything with the Lawyer, it was already late at night.

I went to the bathroom to shower and get ready for bed.

But I heard what sounded like someone talking in the living room.

Wiping my hair, I walked out. "It’s so late—Zhao Yu, who are you talking—"

Before I finished speaking, I saw Lu Huaichuan standing at the door in a wool coat, travel-worn.
