Chapter 4 A Circle of Explosives
The standoff continued.
Xu Xin, who had been lying there the whole time, suddenly stood and pulled her clothes open.
A circle of Explosives was wrapped around her.
"Nobody move!"
She shrieked, her voice twisted by fear.
"I've got Explosives on me. Anyone comes closer, I detonate!"
Mu Qing's pupils shook. He stared at her like he couldn't believe it.
"Xu Xin, where did you get this stuff?"
Xu Xin didn't look at him at all. She clutched the remote dead tight and roared at me.
"Let us go, or we all die together!"
Faces around me went white.
I narrowed my eyes and looked her over carefully.
Her body shook so hard it was frightening. There were even wet marks on her pants.
She looked like she didn't want to die.
I drew a deep breath and smiled, making it look easy.
"Xu Xin, your acting is excellent. You almost fooled even me."
Xu Xin froze.
I spoke slowly.
"This many Explosives, you couldn't have brought them into The Docks. You could only have gotten them after you came in. And you specifically grabbed fake Explosives used for training.
"Pity the person you ran into is me. Every weapon at The Docks goes through my strict check.
"The real ones don't look like that at all."
I shot my people a look. Someone immediately brought out an identical one.
Xu Xin looked too terrified to think.
She followed my words and looked toward the fake Explosives.
In that instant, Mu Qing, closest to her, met my eyes.
The next second, he lunged at Xu Xin and locked down her wrist.
"Ah!"
Xu Xin screamed from the pain. She stared at Mu Qing in panic.
"Mu Qing, you're hurting me...... why!"
"You should've gone to kill Haigu! I can take you out. Trust me!"
Mu Qing clamped her tight, eyes blood-red.
"Why? I want to know why too!
"Xu Xin, how many things have you hidden from me?
"Did you approach me with a purpose from the start?"
I could hear the pain packed into every question.
I let out a cold laugh and waved. My people stepped in at once and took the fully broken Xu Xin.
Mu Qing didn't resist. He looked like every bit of strength had been pulled out of him.
He staggered in front of me, face paper-white.
"Haigu, I was wrong. You won. Happy now?
"You're always right. I'm always one head lower. Heaven really isn't fair......"
I stopped looking at him and looked at Uncle Qin, who had been playing quail the whole time.
He gave two bitter laughs.
"Haigu, I was fooled too. Matters of The Docks should be finished by its master now."
This old fox was truly sharp.
But now wasn't the time to settle accounts with him.
