Chapter 5 Game Over
I walked up to Xu Xin, my voice calm.
"Xu Xin, the game is over.
"I made the bet with Mu Qing, but you should know more than he does.
"Tell me the Truth. I can consider giving you a clean end. Otherwise, the methods I use to interrogate people—I'm afraid you won't last."
Xu Xin shook all over and looked at Mu Qing.
His face was the color of dead ash.
She shut her eyes, looking desperate, then opened them. A streak of madness actually flashed through.
"Haigu, you've been spoiled since you were little. What would you know about the suffering of small people like us?"
Xu Xin's voice was hoarse. Her eyes were thick with venom.
"They put a knife to a child who wasn't even nine. What could I do? I only helped carry a gun inside. Who knew they would kill......"
I couldn't listen anymore. I drew the knife again and drove it hard into her palm.
Xu Xin screamed and screamed. Mu Qing's face went white at the sound.
"Haigu, you really think you won!"
Driven by pain, Xu Xin shrieked.
"Mu Qing really didn't know at the start. But later he knew, and he chose to help me hide it, and he loved me without looking back!
"You know why?
"Because he couldn't stand living in your shadow forever! He wanted to crush you, trample you, make you kneel and look up at him!"
"You're lying!"
Mu Qing roared and tried to rush over. People held him down hard.
I stood where I was. I felt all the blood in my body go cold.
I had guessed it early, but hearing it with my own ears still made my chest ache.
I pinched the bridge of my nose and gave the order.
"Deal with her."
