Chapter 84 Wolf Fight?

She could hear gentle baritone voices. They were just a soft hum at first, then the muffled sounds began to clear.

She could feel the light vibrations of the chest she was lying on.

Damn … even his chest vibrations turn me on.

Reiya stirred ever so slightly into his warmth, his scent invading her nostrils and filling her thoughts with him.

“Baby, are you waking up?” Lee asked quietly as he stroked her cheek. Her face looked better and had color to it once again.

Her eyes fluttered open, meeting the sight of heaven.

She felt completely refreshed. The pain was gone, and she felt great.

The only thing bothering her now was the hunger she had for her mate.

She looked him over with a very lustful gaze, slightly wetting her lips as her mind began to play over what she wanted to do with him.

“Kahem.” A gentle voice made his presence known. Xander smiled as he watched her eyes flicker toward him. “You look like you’re feeling much better.” He gave her a crooked smile. She didn’t look like she was in pain anymore, and it was easy to see exactly what was on her mind.

“I do. I feel great.” Reiya stretched herself and sat up against Lee. Glancing back at him, she noticed his eyes had slightly darkened. His beast was well aware of her intentions and wanted to rise to the call. Oops, didn’t mean to provoke him. “How long was I asleep?”

“Two hours. It’s evening now.” Lee leaned his head down and brushed her lips delicately with his. “I was starting to worry.” He had stayed there, holding her against him for the full two hours. He wouldn’t leave her side or risk moving and waking her.

“I guess healing really wore me out. I feel great now.” How are you feeling, Lumi?

I spent an hour healing you while you slept, and then I used that extra hour to rest up myself. We are one hundred percent ready for our next fight.

Reiya giggled. “Lumi says we’re all healed up and ready for the next fight.”

Lee and Xander both growled. “I don’t want there to be a next fight.” Lee snorted and wrapped his arms around her possessively.

“Next time, I’m staying glued to your side. That way, nothing magical can hurt you.” Xander folded his arms and nodded his head.

“I’m fine now. I feel great. I definitely learned my lesson. Now I know I need more practice before I mess with life energy,” Reiya answered casually.

“WHAT!” Lee and Xander yelled out. Their eyes immediately went from shock to anger. Their faces hardened, and Lee set his jaw.

Oops ... guess I said too much. Reiya’s eyes darted to both men’s faces and she gave them a sheepish grin.

Way to go, Reiya. Now I’ll never be allowed out to fight, Lumi grumbled and laid her head down on her paws, sulking. She also didn’t like having her mate upset with her.

Reiya chuckled nervously. Feigning innocence, she asked, “What happened?” Yes, innocence was good.

“You said you messed with his life energy,” Lee said lowly, his voice edging darker.

Okay … is it bad that I find it hot and not threatening? Reiya asked Lumi.

Sounds like he just needs to take that aggression out on someone. I wouldn’t mind being on that receiving end. Lumi sighed, thinking about her mate.

“Oh … that. Heh heh heh …” Reiya cleared her throat a bit and shrugged.

She then looked back at Lee and frowned.

Yes, Reiya. Work this angle instead. Let’s get a sympathy ticket.

“I didn’t know what else to do. He was much stronger than us.

I had to try to block his flow of energy.

It was the only thing I could think of.” Reiya fidgeted with her fingers and glanced up to see Lee’s dark eyes.

“Really, Reiya? The only thing?” Lee snorted angrily.

“You could have called for me then. Instead, Lumi had to call for me. You almost got yourself killed when all you had to do was yell for me. Hell, even if you’d thought of me, I would have felt it.

” Lee snarled in agitation. He would have come to her in an instant and could have prevented her from ever being injured.

Her eyes flipped to Xander, who was also giving her a stern look. His jaw was stiff and clenched as he nodded his head in agreement. Both men were visibly upset. They were angry … with her.

Lumi growled lowly. Oh? Well, if they want to rumble, then I’m game. Just look at the way they’re looking at us. I didn’t get my chance to fight earlier, and I am more than willing to put them in their place now.

Suddenly both men started looking at her in amusement, their eyes laughing and their lips turned up in smiles. What the freaking whiplash of emotions is this? Reiya thought.

“Looks like my little wolf here has quite the temper.” Lee smiled as he rubbed Reiya’s arm.

Did he just pet me? Reiya furrowed her brows. Lumi gnashed her teeth in Reiya’s mind, insulted.

“We can see your eyes changing color. Your wolf is fighting for control.” Xander grinned and leaned back on his heels.

They think me getting angry is CUTE?! Lumi roared, even more enraged. She was an agitated werewolf, and her animal instincts were surging.

Reiya had never experienced anything like this.

Her wolf’s attitude was so much more aggressive than hers.

Sure, Reiya was getting annoyed, but Lumi was angry.

For the first time, she felt what it was actually like to fight with your animal, which she had seen her family do all the time.

They all managed so well, making it look effortless.

This was not effortless. She was really struggling.

Another battle was ensuing, only this time, it was a battle of wills. Reiya grabbed onto her arms as her body began to tremble slightly. Why was this so much harder for her? What was going on?

Lumi, what the hell are you doing? This is our mate and our friend, who is also our soul twin. Rein it in, Reiya barked inside her head.

We won’t be disrespected, Lumi snarled.

You’re acting just as bad as the dragons do. We’re better than that. Now, THAT’S ENOUGH! Control your temper NOW, Reiya commanded in her head. The moment she did, Lumi was able to settle.

Wolves needed a pecking order. All Lumi needed was for Reiya to take complete charge of the situation.

She was an animal, after all. Sometimes her animal instincts took over, which was why a strong wolf like her needed a strong partner.

It was when the partner wasn’t strong enough that accidents happened, and people accidentally got hurt.

Thanks. I’m better now. Lumi laid down, placing her head on her paws.

Reiya sighed. Having her wolf was more of a handful than she thought it would be. Of course, had she gotten her wolf at sixteen, she would have mastered being a werewolf by now. She’d only had Lumi for one day.

Reiya turned her head and looked into Lee’s eyes, still seeing amusement there. He wasn’t afraid at all about her struggling with her animal. Of course, as a deity, he was exponentially stronger than her. She smiled sheepishly. “Power struggle.”

“I can see that.” Lee chuckled and pulled Reiya into him.

He couldn’t stay angry at her for long, not when everything she did was so darn adorable.

Man, he loved her so much. “Next time, call for me. If you’re ever in a battle, call for me immediately.

Don’t wait until after it starts, or after you or someone else gets hurt.

You are not bothering me, EVER. I know you’re always afraid of bothering me.

Don’t be. Not you. You are the one person who could never bother me. ”

Reiya smiled. “Well, if I’m being completely honest, I blanked.

” She gave the two men an embarrassed smile.

“It was my first fight ever. I just reacted. I didn’t even think about calling you.

I forgot you were my summon. I honestly haven’t even thought of you as my summon recently. It wasn’t even in the back of my mind.”

“Aww, you think of him as your mate and lover now, and his identity as your summon has been forgotten,” Xander teased, provoking a red stain on Reiya’s cheeks.

Lee smiled and tugged her into him. “I prefer that you think of me that way, too. In fact, you don’t even have to think about the summon part, just that you were gifted with water. But as your mate, you can communicate with me. So, call for your mate.”

“Yeah, but usually a mate’s mindlink won’t reach you if you’re that far. It’s only by my summon link that I can.” Reiya scrunched her nose up playfully.

“Call it your communication perk, then.” Xander grinned as he added his two cents.

“Oh, speaking of perk … we’re having a special dinner tonight, since you’re all better.

It’s time for Levi here to publicly claim you as his mate.

” His grin widened as he stared at Reiya.

Lee didn’t have to go through this, but he wanted to claim Reiya publicly.

Not that he needed it, but the four kingdoms were going to bless his union.

It was a sign of respect and reverence, a declaration from all the dragons, showing complete support of their deity’s mate.

Reiya looked up at Lee, who was smiling at her. He was planning to mark her publicly, like what she was supposed to do with Xander as a decoy. Now it really was her turn. “So, is this another acceptance kiss thing?” Reiya gave him a crooked smile. Meanwhile, he was beaming back down at her.

“Finally! I’ve watched this done time and time again. Now it’s finally my turn.”

Reiya could see he was excited thinking about claiming her publicly.

There would be no way anyone could refute what they would see with their own eyes.

Lee publicly claiming her will solidify his relationship with her in the dragons’ minds.

Not that it was really needed. Lee had already publicly announced her as his mate.

He had made it known that if any harm came to her from one of them, they would pay for it with their lives.

Still, this was an exciting moment for Lee. For the first time, he would be publicly marking his mate. A moment he thought would never come.

Reiya looked herself over. “I think, if I’m going to be in front of everyone, I’m going to need a shower first.” She noticed she still had some dried blood on her and her clothes, and she wanted to make sure she looked her best since the focus would be on her.

“Yeah, I think that would be best.” Xander grinned as he looked at her. “It would be nice for Levi’s mate to look like she hadn’t just murdered someone.”

“Yeah … I murdered someone or they murdered me, whatever the case may be.” Reiya cleared her throat as she saw the unamused faces. “Anyway, I’ll be off.” Reiya scooted away, off the bed, and made her way to the bathroom.

She turned on the steamy shower and hopped in, letting the hot droplets cascade over her body as the steam filled the air.

So, she was going to be the object of the dragon’s mating ritual.

Well then … let’s give them a show. Reiya smirked as she leaned her head into the water.

She wasn’t a dragon. She was a werewolf.

Her father was an alpha and her mother was the daughter of an alpha.

That made Reiya and Hunter true alphas. Yes, she was a true alpha, and she also had a mate to claim.
